Blue Spheres is godlike.

I never want to go back to the nightmare difficulty spike that is Sonic 2 special stages or the vomit and dizzyness inducing maze that is Sonic 1 special stages.

though i really enjoyed Sonic 2 special stage and its music, but **** man. im not ****ing psychic. i cant see **** past the corner since you decided to bend the stage by 90 degrees you ****ing game. stop suddenly throwing **** at me like im supposed to know where it is.

Sonic heroes was nice, days and days playing it with my cousin on the xbox til we reached eggman before the final boss, we couldnt beat him though lol. His little brother broke the disc which enraged him. Sonic riders is my favorite anyways

Sonic Heroes doesn't seem to control that well compared to the adventure titles....
And the bonus stages really showcase how bad the controls are.

The concept was decent though.

My problems with the recent sonics is how easy and straightforward they got. I hate the targeting system for homing attacks now, I hate the boost stuff(just the idea of sonic having a "boost" is ridiculous to me), the only fun parts seem to be the boss fights. SA2B felt the perfect difficulty and striving to get all emblems in that game was a pretty insane task, the choas being there was a nice distraction while playing the game as well. The cameras and voice acting sucked though as everyone knows lol.

Honestly, after Shadow the Hedgehog, I'm glad Sonic Unleashed came out. Despite the night time stages being so out of this world. They were still fun. I do feel that the game would of been 4x better if they replaced werehog with knuckles and called the game Sonic and Knuckles 2.

I'm up for it. Friend code is under my portrait. I'm still learning, but, see you in there.

EDIT: I need to replace my data with the online build, but I'll have that done in a few minutes. Also, I'm from Montana, and my connection isn't the greatest as such.

Whenever this thread breaks out into Pokemon discussion, suddenly that's terrible and needs to be ceased asap; but SONIC discussion--excuse me, FANBOYISM, is just dandy? Man what kind horse**** is that

My opinion on Sonic is, if I had the chance to kill either the person responsible for Sonic's creation or Hitler...well.

Let's just say there'd be a lot less Sonic around.

...I might be exaggerating slightly

B'uuuuuh. So, just waiting on 7Dog confirming whether-or-not we're playing. BUT, in the meantime, would anybody else like to throw down?

Honestly 9k I'm more taken aback by the fact that someone besides me uses the expression "horse s***t". Also try pinapple-guava or persimmon, lechi and logan berries are excellent as well. Ripe starfruit and red papaya fresh and ripe are pretty remarkable too, mango's are awesome, and oh man high end cold-weather pears, there are too many delicious fruits...

Sonic 2 IS overrated. The leap in improvement from S2 to S3 is awe-striking, but for some reason, S2K gets the same amount of praise as S3K, which makes no sense since S2 is almost inferior to S3K in almost every single way.
Sonic 3 is inferior in the singular most important aspect (soundtrack), therefore it is inferior.

2006 join date? Small fry. :i6rkW:
Wasn't talking about join dates geezer. Grab your reading glasses and read that post again.

So, after reading the last few pages:

1) You all suck at SA2 except Hylian and probably Neko. Mad Space and Meteor Herd were my *******, and Big the Cat's levels were easy in SA1.
2) S3&K is the best Sonic game of all time.
3) Werehog levels was just what Ristar should've become.
4) Heroes could've been infinitely better if they just focused on Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails, while devoting the rest of the time to polishing the already good level layouts.
5) mewtwoman, I respond because it'd be boring otherwise.
6) <3 Seagull

I don't see what you're talking about when it comes to the flaw in question, but that's probably because I'm so familiar with the layouts of S1 to S3K that I can't see it anymore haha.
What I mean is like as you progress through the games the levels get more and more complex and demand more and more precision from the player, which is typical of a platfromer obviously, but because of the way Sonic builds momentum and his poor traction it is very difficult to reach the same level of precision as say like Mario or Mega Man or other 2D platformers. That's always been my biggest gripe with the Sonic series, I don't consider it game-breaking or anything, I still have fun with them and think they're great games, but I still feel that complaint is worth noting since it's been consistent in nearly every 2D Sonic game.

Haha, Male WFT is so awesome. I hope it means there's gonna be a bunch of alt costumes in Smash 4.

Actually, what if they're just gender-bending people? So we get male Samus and female Falcon? I think I'd totally be okay with that.

What would female Falcon even.... oh man..... ._.

I don't understand two of those complaints solely because homing attack by definition is a targeting system, and because spin dash functioned the exact same way as these boosts do in these new games now a days. It just didn't look as pretty as the boosts do now.

Hylian calling the new Sonics easy is just laughable though. Unleashed was hard as **** at times. Eggmanland anyone? Generations had Seaside Hill, Crisis City, and Speed Highway. I wouldn't necessarily call any of those levels easy either. Don't even get me started on Planet Wisp from EITHER Colors or Generations.

Straightforward? Anyone forget that all it took to beat Sonic 1-K was pressing the right direction on the d-pad? Hell, there's a video of a guy who beats Sonic 3K with Knuckles simply by jumping and gliding. No movement whatsoever from his dpad.

SA2/B used Ryan Drummond by the way. The voices themselves didn't suck, I blame that on the shoddy script.

Jason Griffith didn't take over Sonic's voice until Shadow the Hedgehog.

And thank god for Roger Craig Smith and the new cast. I love every one of them so far. I will miss Blaze's old VA though.

I've actually done that with Knuckles just to see if I could. It didn't prevent me from enjoying the game, but it was a little silly that he could pass so many obstacles just by climbing and gliding though the stage. Sonic 2 and Knuckles is obnoxiously simple with Knux too.

Speed Highway in Generations was pretty easy, though Crisis City was decently hard. I'm not sure if that's because Sonic 06 infected the game with an obnoxious stage design or not though. Generations started feeling like a chore after the Seaside Hill, though it's probably because I didn't care much for any of the games that the newer stages were coming from. I'm not too experienced with Sonic Unleashed, but I've heard the horror stories of Eggmanland. Doesn't sound pleasant at all.

I thought generations was incredibly easy >_>, I can't speak on the other games though as I couldn't never get into them after heros. I try them and then don't finish them if I don't like them from the start, generations in the only recent one that held my attention. Also, I will MM anyone in SA2B :p. Amy banned.

By straightforward I'm comparing the sonic adventures to the other newer games not the 2d ones. I don't mind the straightforwardness much, but I just really hate targeting icons for homing attack and boost stuff.

pretty sure 2.6 turbo mode sonic still isn't as good as 2.5 regular sonic was.

just throwing that out there.

you should play classic sonic in modern sonic stages on generations PC. you'd probably enjoy that lol.

the new sonic gams sans colors and probably lost world arent easy tho.

well generations is easy at first, but the difficulty curves as the levels progress. Modern gen stages in generations were silly, especially on classic's side.

But I digress lol.

I have to disagree. I feel S3K's sound track is overall better than S2's. S2's is a lot memorable for some reason for a lot people.

Actually the thing about spin dash was that too time to charge up and eventually lost speed.

Peel out is more comparable to boost, despite it needing to charge up as well I feel.

Unleashed was just unfair by punishing you with death for simple mistakes due to not knowing the layout. The game boils down to memorization and muscle memory at high level speedrunning. Daytime is disgustingly fun regardless, but painfully aggravating.

I see your point, though, personally, I've never come across this issue. Maybe you should play the games over again with Tails as he as better aerial mobility than Sonic as well as the ability to fly?

These need to be merged.

HYUP!
