thisssssssssssssssssssssHonestly, after Shadow the Hedgehog, I'm glad Sonic Unleashed came out. Despite the night time stages being so out of this world. They were still fun. I do feel that the game would of been 4x better if they replaced werehog with knuckles and called the game Sonic and Knuckles 2.
I would but I'm feeling to nauseous to play.B'uuuuuh. So, just waiting on 7Dog confirming whether-or-not we're playing. BUT, in the meantime, would anybody else like to throw down?
Sonic 3 is inferior in the singular most important aspect (soundtrack), therefore it is inferior.Sonic 2 IS overrated. The leap in improvement from S2 to S3 is awe-striking, but for some reason, S2K gets the same amount of praise as S3K, which makes no sense since S2 is almost inferior to S3K in almost every single way.
Wasn't talking about join dates geezer. Grab your reading glasses and read that post again.2006 join date? Small fry.
What I mean is like as you progress through the games the levels get more and more complex and demand more and more precision from the player, which is typical of a platfromer obviously, but because of the way Sonic builds momentum and his poor traction it is very difficult to reach the same level of precision as say like Mario or Mega Man or other 2D platformers. That's always been my biggest gripe with the Sonic series, I don't consider it game-breaking or anything, I still have fun with them and think they're great games, but I still feel that complaint is worth noting since it's been consistent in nearly every 2D Sonic game.I don't see what you're talking about when it comes to the flaw in question, but that's probably because I'm so familiar with the layouts of S1 to S3K that I can't see it anymore haha.
happy halloween
These need to be merged.
I dunno, Jason Griffith as Sonic was pretty bad. Beeeettleship. My problems with the recent sonics is how easy and straightforward they got. I hate the targeting system for homing attacks now, I hate the boost stuff(just the idea of sonic having a "boost" is ridiculous to me), the only fun parts seem to be the boss fights. SA2B felt the perfect difficulty and striving to get all emblems in that game was a pretty insane task, the choas being there was a nice distraction while playing the game as well. The cameras and voice acting sucked though as everyone knows lol.
I've actually done that with Knuckles just to see if I could. It didn't prevent me from enjoying the game, but it was a little silly that he could pass so many obstacles just by climbing and gliding though the stage. Sonic 2 and Knuckles is obnoxiously simple with Knux too.Hylian calling the new Sonics easy is just laughable though. Unleashed was hard as **** at times. Eggmanland anyone? Generations had Seaside Hill, Crisis City, and Speed Highway. I wouldn't necessarily call any of those levels easy either. Don't even get me started on Planet Wisp from EITHER Colors or Generations.
Straightforward? Anyone forget that all it took to beat Sonic 1-K was pressing the right direction on the d-pad? Hell, there's a video of a guy who beats Sonic 3K with Knuckles simply by jumping and gliding. No movement whatsoever from his dpad.
you should play classic sonic in modern sonic stages on generations PC. you'd probably enjoy that lol.My problems with the recent sonics is how easy and straightforward they got. I have to disagree. I feel S3K's sound track is overall better than S2's. S2's is a lot memorable for some reason for a lot people.Sonic 3 is inferior in the singular most important aspect (soundtrack), therefore it is inferior.
Actually the thing about spin dash was that too time to charge up and eventually lost speed.I don't understand two of those complaints solely because homing attack by definition is a targeting system, and because spin dash functioned the exact same way as these boosts do in these new games now a days. It just didn't look as pretty as the boosts do now.

SA2/B used Ryan Drummond by the way. The voices themselves didn't suck, I blame that on the shoddy script.
Jason Griffith didn't take over Sonic's voice until Shadow the Hedgehog.
And thank god for Roger Craig Smith and the new cast. I love every one of them so far. I will miss Blaze's old VA though.
I see your point, though, personally, I've never come across this issue. Maybe you should play the games over again with Tails as he as better aerial mobility than Sonic as well as the ability to fly? What I mean is like as you progress through the games the levels get more and more complex and demand more and more precision from the player, which is typical of a platfromer obviously, but because of the way Sonic builds momentum and his poor traction it is very difficult to reach the same level of precision as say like Mario or Mega Man or other 2D platformers.
