Can I mention that I'm going to be salty about Pit until 3.5.

TAS SDI during the huge amount of hitstunLag on Lucas's Dsmash. SDI's around the rock, then Dual stick/SDI techs the ground as he comes up because the dsmash would send towards the left, then does a rest.

This: but instead of staying grounded with a pound/dsmash puff just rests.

For the first one you have to punish with the proper thing after getting a read. You can't just Warlock Punch after reading a Fox Up-Smash.
Please read the part where I mention that there is literally no time to do such a punish as uSmash persists after the spot dodge ends, meaning the second my intangibility ends I'm going to get hit.

unless you find me one of those 1080i widescreen CRTs in the wild I refuse to ever haul a CRT bigger than 20 inches ever again, the one I used to carry with me took off years of my life I s2g

Oh it's not leaving our house haha. It does have S-Video though and mounted speakers attached to it so :D.

Just checked and realized I didn't have all of the trophies in melee after all these years. Looked some of them up and realized why. I never played a lot of the 1-P modes because they're so ****ing tedious. I didn't even know you could fight giga Bowser outside of event 51 because I can't even beat adventure mode on normal. Ffs fml

I'm kinda bummed out. Now that Youtube is being filled with Smash 4 vids, I'm losing interest in watching PM stuff... I'm just kinda hyped about playing :4villager:, :4littlemac:, :4duckhunt:, and :4ludwig:.

I feel the opposite.

Smash 4 looks slower in every way than PM, no matter it's improvements over brawl. New things don't interest me because they're new, but because they represent revolutionary ideas I can get behind. There's nothing revolutionary in smash 4 that appeals to me. I think that VI and rage are bad mechanics, and the new ledge mechanics appear to be highly unappealing. Are there any other new mechanics? Maybe something actually appealing?

Potentially custom movesets. idk if they'll be legal or not, but they could easily help characters counter against enemies that normally trump them. Each character has 2 alternate specials per special, giving each character 81 different build options. Suddenly, what could hard counter a character could be countered with the simple switch of how a move works. In the end, that's even more match ups to learn and experiment with.

Rage I find interesting, as it rewards the brave character at the risk of getting smashed out. The ledge mechanics might be a bit much, but I hope that it creates an even more aggressive offstage game. I was watching a Shiek on youtube yesterday absolutely butchering the opponent off stage. I'm okay with vectoring, but that's because I could do with or without DI in general.

The game itself has combos, but lesser than Melee, which is more my speed. I remember a commentator saying that the game definitely makes you think. My biggest problem is that characters live too long, but Little Mac is the answer to that problem, as he kills fast and dies early :)


New ledge mechanics are just soooo annoying to get used to when they've done it one way for 3 games.
While edgehogging made me feel so giddy, I'm not going to hold the game to the standards of the old. If it's fun in it's old right, I'm fine. Recoveries are a bit too good though.

Then go balls deep enough that you dont have to worry about the new ledge mechanics.

I too wish the game never had VI, rage or the new ledge mechinacs. I expect the game to be huge for a while and it is new and I get to play as Rosalina so for those reasons i'm hype to play it. Got no illusions it will be half as good as PM, especially once 3.5 comes out.

Anyone else think Project M's air mechanics are a LOT more... tight and all that? Like, especially when you go from Sm4sh to Project M. Like holy crap it feels tight and unresponsive at first. I'm not the only one that gets that, right? :p

(After a while it's fine but at first, HOLY JESUS...)
