clean music, fun combos, and also those constant post-editing tilts are getting obnoxious as hell

like, it kind of looks alright at first but then you look at how much the HUD shakes around and aaaagh

I didn't watch it yet but yeah when he did that for his Marth video I was turned a bit off for that part, same with when I think they did that in AriqueNuubs I think. As someone who just went over creating horrible to decent combo videos for years the tilt thing is hard to not want when you feel the move lacks impact but there's always better effects even though it might not be as powerful.

weird thought: what if you had two different recordings per clip, one showing nothing but the HUD in front of a greenscreen, and the other of a HUD-less gameplay actually happening

that might be overkill for a small-time video but that could work for people into that kind of thing, idk

My idea would be water/plasma (blue aura sphere) flow effects for the majority of the video that follow around the movement to help accomplish the same idea, and they flow through quickly in the black transitions to where Lucario starts in the next clip.

I finally shook off the rust/got over being salty about myself and went to a weekly.
Other than a few specific things my play was about as crisp as it was before I took the break, its weird. The only things that I couldn't do consistantly anymore are instant ledge wavelands and shield drops. 17th out of 64 aint bad.
I got 5th place at our side-bracket event though, this week was low-tier singles. could have gotten 3rd or better but I just got tired and couldn't adapt to the yoshi MU.

Have any of you guys experienced a feeling like you've gotten better at thinking about and playing after a break? I know its normal for things to be easier/more natural when you come back to them, but 3+weeks of no smash and there was no rust or hesistation, infact I could actually do shield pressure well and didn't drop a single SH approach the whole bracket. On top of that I felt like I was playing a lot smarter, and thinking faster, like I could plan and react in almost every MU (still not fast enough for the spacie dittos though >.>).
Its weird. Maybe all I needed to wake myself up was to just take a break.

when you get down to it, it makes sense. when you're not playing the game, the only thoughts you have on it are about little understandings of strategy, bits of the metagame that you need to think through and not simply play through

There are a couple other ones worth watching. I don't recall the name but there's this US guy who extends combos not with down B but with reverse neutral B charge cancel : either it hits and he can combo in place, or it doesn't and he just has to dash. Pretty interesting stuff.

Instead of using L to L-cancel, you an use R to L-cancel, is this a bug?

I'd attach a Melee disc to a lanyard and use that but Melee discs are precious. Maybe a Pendant of an image of a Melee disc
