There was a thread in Melee social yesterday where someone (I think it was Pontus, or one of the other trolls) called out PM players, it was something like "I wonder how many PM exclusive players actually think they are good at smash." M2k went off on some people with like long paragraphs of johns, I tried to go dig it up for even better screan caps but I think one of the FB mods deleted it.

The salt was palpable in that thread, with Kage doing his normal complaining because Ganon sucks, M2k complaining, SB and zero a little bit trying to actually talk to them, and then Melee social idiots everywhere spilling the mortons.

Honestly, how do they plan on defending the gimmicks in Melee? A on frame jump canceled move that gives you a free grab or up smash isn't exactly "meh". And it's not exactly a regular in any other movelist. I agree that the feel of Melee should be relatively preserved and polished to a sheen(I honestly wouldn't mind the high tiers gaining back certain invincibility frames or downthrow angles either), but I don't want the newcomers or the blander veterans themselves to be bashed without thought upon the idea of "new and unknown in a UNFINISHED GAME=gimmick"

I liked you more when you obsessively liked posts instead of sitting up on your high horse, declaring that everyone is a moron (heavily implied), and referencing tvtropes to come off as "genre-savvy". Could you attempt to contribute to conversations instead of throwing out the tantrums you're accusing others of having?

I'll try and do a quick breakdown of methods:
1) Console w/ capture card
2) Dolphin via PC and screencapture

2 is self-explanatory so I'll dive into 1. You'll want a capture card (I personally use Elgato) and you'll likely need a splitter if you go for the regular capture card (not sure if their Gaming card comes with one). For capturing footage, you can do it as you play or off of a replay. A replay file is a set of inputs and can't be converted. Also note that due to how triggers are read, you need the WiFi safe .GCT to prevent replays from desyncing.

Your primary option is to buy a USB capture card. I don't have one myself, though, so I can't give you any information about different models - a quick google search for USB capture cards should get you more information.

This is why it really does pain me to see/experience the Project M community bicker amongst itself (something that everybody, including myself obviously, is guilty of). We all have different opinions, but I think we can all agree that we care about this game and want it to be something truly great.

We need to be able to stand together against utter BS like this garbage that is only meant to destroy the community's morale and reputation. M2K is acting like an elitist jerkass.

Yep, or Fraps or Bandicam or anything else you like. You can alternatively stream to Twitch and upload from there as well.

This is all getting kinda vitriolic. Mech likes everything and posts a lot of zen/preachy stuff mixed in with gifs and life experience (and mechs). TvTropes is awesome, but not a particularly citable resource. Bleck posts a lot of one-liner counter-arguments. Mew2King is amazing at Smash, and his words should carry weight, but he's also known to be quite reactive, rash, and blunt, which is to be expected of someone with Asperger's. Maturity (and/or game balance/design) is a difficult and subjective topic dependent upon one's social norms and values (gaming expectations) and is difficult to debate without deteriorating into petty rhetoric and semantics. Pretty sure a LOT of people on this board would be happy for a bird to get knocked down to ground level instead being so high up above everyone with it's only company and competition being a fox that can hop everywhere.
