Hats off to the PMBR, and thanks again for all your hard work!

With Doc as a costume, Mewtwo and Roy confirmed playable, and Young Link fusion-ha'd with Toon Link, all the advancements with the clone and cosutme engines have been mindblowing!

There's been a huge influx of suggestions of character from a bunch of games to fill those coveted 7 spots...

Has the PMBR figured out how to replace sound effects? I thought I read that this was not possible with the hack-less method, but Roy and Mewtwo all have their original sounds for voices and stuff. So, they must have figured something out.

so the replacement soundbank engine is relatively new thing, but there's been a file in the pm folders named "RSBE" for the longest time, that confuses me, are the initials just a coincidence or is this an updated version of the same thing or what

I'm pretty sure it's a coincidence, since RSBE is just what NTSC's Brawl code is called...if I'm not mistaken.

Is there a sound replacement pack out right now? One that brings back all the Melee effects?
You can change the textures to look like melee and the music of the stages anf menu. I don't think anyone released a melee sound pack yet. That kind of mod can't be done with hackless wiis unfortunately.

Shoot, I'd throw a party for ya if I knew you IRL. I'm all about tolerance. Also I've got a little taste for that side myself.

man, I'm just glad I live in canada

probably the only place where the most negative response to coming out is a weirdly patronizing "aw, that's cute"

it's nice. ANYWAY time to aggressively practice shuttle loop tech skill
I might get my ass handed to me when I play someone in tournament BUT AT LEAST I'LL HAVE COOL LOOKING REVERSE SHUTTLE LOOPS WHEN IT HAPPENS

So while watching the stream, I noticed the announcer for Roy and Mewtwo sounded a little funky. Mewtwo's wasn't that bad, but Roy sounds kind of out of place and distorted.

Where did the backroom get the announcer calls from?

Yeah, Roy's announcement does sound almost... cut-off.

Here's a version that isn't like that, and I'm sure it could be edited if need be.
I have heard there might be sound files leftover in Brawl for both Roy and Mewtwo, which would explain where the demo samples come from.

But these samples above which I've heard before are much better. The guy made them for the fans, so he doesn't give a crap if we use them.

The second Mewtwo attempt, where he separates Mew and Two with a slight pause, sounds the best if they have to pick between the two samples.

Brawl modders have always used "RSBE" for file replacement codes because that's NTSC Brawl's game ID (likewise RSBP01 is used for PAL codes) , but you can change the code to name it anything you want to.

The Melee Menu Announcer/SFX sound pack has been out on Brawl Vault for years, and we have a Melee SFX project here in the PM Workshop forum that's finished SFX work for most of the cast.

What were you afraid of? A couple guys in the back shouting "***!", only to get glared at by every other person in the room?
