I've had two controllers now in the span of less than 6 months have left shoulder buttons start to hold an input even after I let go if I press a certain amount down. The thing is, the only thing I ever even use L for is L-canceling. Both of them started to just hold shield immediately after every time I l-cancel and wouldn't stop until I fully depressed and released the button. Anyone know what causes this and how I can fix those controllers? 'Cause those're two otherwise perfectly good controllers that I now can't use until I learn to l-cancel with a different button.

take them apart and clean the triggers?

Tri-wing for cheapest you can from Amazon, otherwise see if normal small drivers can work decent

In meantime hold it in a bit while you plug it in enough to not set it off. Metroid had this same problem

If you buy/gain used controllers, swapping as much pieces as you can might work

Maybe stretching the spring a bit might work idk
