lol did anyone see the MikeHaze stream? Holy shieeeeeeeeeeeet.

Basically Westballz is MikeHaze's roommate, and apparently he or one of the friends he invited stole money from Mike and didn't pay the rent. Mike as a result is throwing him out of the house and claims he has screenshots showing Westballz ****ing up. There's a bit more to the story, but that's the gist of it.

Drama is real.
holy **** stream link where

But the Queen is better than every other piece in the game save the King, it definitely needs a nerf
Good one :D But both players have a queen! If you want to do such an argument it would be that White is OP and thats true, the matchup is around 53-47. But you can't "main" white but have to play both colours, in tournaments mostly the same number of times which balances it. Still, white has an advantage

Can anyone give a comparison of wavelanding and platform canceling?

I'm pretty sure that platform canceling is instant while wavelanding has lag (Can someone specify how much? Is it the landing lag?) although platform canceling is typically more timing based/harder. Sometimes when I try to DJ Dair as Marf I get a platform cancel, even on stages like PS2?
When you do a platform cancel, you'll (usually) land during aerials autocancel window before the hitbox, meaning you will get hard land. (in melee 4 frames for most characters). Wavelanding puts you in special landing lag of 10 frames. If you land during a dj by doing the dj at the right height (and not doing attack), you'll get an animation that is instantly interruptible.

Been noticing this... is that the new trend? PM being more popular than melee?
Melee is more popular by a fair deal overall, PM is more popular in specific regions.
Like Chicago for example and PM beat melee in attendance at UFGT10 apparently.
Here in Spokane, WA, PM is more popular than Melee. We got 44 entrants to Melee and 47 to PM at our monthly on saturday.

SKTAR has more PM entrants than melee. Not by much, but it's there.

If you look at quantity versus quality, the PM bracket is also much more stacked. The Melee bracket is less stacked, but the few at the top are the best.
Our brackets in Spokane are similar. There are a lot of PM-only high level players. So there's actually a lot more tournament threats in PM.

Maybe we should talk to Ben about it eh?
Yes. Yes, do it please. PM doubles is so much fun. My little group was hoping to start making the trip to Black Wolf each month, and we pretty much only play PM. We'd love to have a chance at more doubles brackets since GC is always too busy to run one.

The only tournament in WA that actually runs it is the Olympian, a monthly that just got up and running, but I need mooooar.

Donkey-Ganon 2strong btw.

I will unfortunately be missing the next Black Wolf because it's on the same weekend as CEO. I'll be able to make it to the July one, though.

We live in outer Everett, about 10-15 minutes out from GameClucks. We'll probably be making it to most future Olympians, but we'll have to miss the next one unfortunately. I guess we'll just have to play in July, ha.

It's the other way around for me. I love Gen 3's music and nothing stands out to me in Gen 5.

Vs. Wild Pokemon, Vs. Trainer, Vs. Gym Leader, Vs. Magma/Aqua Leader, Vs. Rival, Vs. Champion, Abandoned Ship, Verdanturf Town, Meteor Falls, Kyo/Grou/Ray Battle, Regi Battle, Deoxys Battle, too many great themes in Gen 3 for me to list.
I realize this is painfully late, but I just wanted to say that a song in R/S/E that always stood out to me was the Regi cave theme.

It's never too late to talk about Pokemon. :p

Seriously though, I usually don't keep track of large tournaments, but SKTAR is one I'm seriously considering watching. This might be the most stacked tournament in a really, really long time.

Seriously, when was the last time a national was this stacked? Kind of curious.

I think Armada + M2K because they are Apex #1 + #2 but team coordination also weighs in...
But I think both have played so much doubles that they will adapt quickly, similar to M2K and Hungrybox who were in good coordination very fast just because they are so experienced players
