Can anyone give a comparison of wavelanding and platform canceling?

I'm pretty sure that platform canceling is instant while wavelanding has lag (Can someone specify how much? Is it the landing lag?) although platform canceling is typically more timing based/harder. Sometimes when I try to DJ Dair as Marf I get a platform cancel, even on stages like PS2?
Platform canceling is landing by an edgge or platform and using your momentum that was conserved to slide off the ledge, so no lag. Wavelanding is pretty much any situation where you did a wavedash movement that wasn't directly out of a jumpsquat. Mostly used to move sleekly on platforms, after an empty jump, after certain SH aerials (or wolf/diddy neutral b) or as a means to get off the ledge. strictly speaking, wavedashes are "instant "wavelands.

lol did anyone see the MikeHaze stream? Holy shieeeeeeeeeeeet.

Basically Westballz is MikeHaze's roommate, and apparently he or one of the friends he invited stole money from Mike and didn't pay the rent. Mike as a result is throwing him out of the house and claims he has screenshots showing Westballz ****ing up. There's a bit more to the story, but that's the gist of it.

Drama is real.

I believe you're thinking of ledge canceling. I'm talking about platform canceling, an AT originating from Brawl. I know what wavelanding is too, just wanted to know if anyone could compare the two.

That's ledgecancelling, platform cancelling is -search on the Smash wiki-

Oh that AT. *shrugs* I get that confused with the Melee on-hit platform cancel tech where you drop-through aerial and if it hits you land on the platform you were on. Too many techniques with similar names

is it just me, or is nobody using reverse aerial rush wavedash for really quick ledge grabs? it's a really good option...but i suppose it's really risky too...

Depends on the character. Don't try that **** with Bowser. But it's pretty helpful with most characters.

Falco dittos in Melee are too much fun. I was honestly getting bored of the game (gasp) until I switched from Sheik to Falco.

I have no problem doing it with Bowser, granted he has much better options.

I use it with some characters, but only if it's the best/safest option.

Wait, the social thread went 1.02 versions of upgrade?
(I wonder what's in the changelist )

I pretty much ledgegrab with down-B with Bowser 90% of the time now. I stopped trying to Fortress hog a while ago when they changed the timing for it and I never bothered to relearn/practice it.

Eh, I already argued against it and nothing happened, but that was before Smashing Grounds started and I had weekly practice. I might have developed my gameplay differently if the change had happened later. But as it stands, I have my own stupid style now (did I mention that I try to edgeguard with Fsmash way too much?).

Does anyone have an issue with just jumping when wavedashing? It's extremely infuriating and I can't exactly pinpoint what I'm doing wrong. I can do a perfect wavedash 70-80% of the time, but then I would just jump, not roll on accident, not jump and then airdodge a little late, just jump, it's driving me crazy. I think it is due to pressing jump and L-diagonal at the EXACT same time, and jumping took precedence.

Also, how do you change the title of the music? I can change the actual track no problem by replacing the brstm, but is there a way to change the title, as it appears on my music and when the match just starts? Thanks.

You pressed shield too early, when you were still in the jump squat animation.

Use Brawlbox to open a info_en.pac and click on MiscData140. On the box on the bottom right, you'll see a list of all the songs. Change them, and they'll change in game.

Is that the same part of the jump that lets you jump-cancel grab? So using L during that frame won't register as an airdodge... Thanks!
