I feel like I'm the only one who found Xenoblade insanely boring.
You're not. Bought it, played it for like an hour or two, got bored, haven't touched it since.

Then again, there are a lot of heavily-praised games out there I find boring in the first few minutes and don't make it past the beginning, like Okami.

In case you guys wanted to see the results of the survey you filled out here is the community tier list i compiled from your opinions.

And my signature has a tier list that I tried to make as 'accurate' as possible combining a lot of tournaments and these results with a little influence of peoples opinions like hylians and strongbads.

Avocado happens to be the main ingredient for guac tho :p. Avocado is great because it goes so well with other ingredients. Avocado on a sandwhich? **** yeah. Avovado on a burger? **** yeah. Avocad on Sushi? **** yeah..it's really just one of the best things ever to put on stuff. It doesn't overpower the flavor of other things and instead just adds amazingness.
I've made Guac before lol, that was kind of the point.

A few things I disagree with, but overall its a pretty accurate tier list.

Xenoblade definitely takes a little bit of time to pick up (which doesn't really excuse the game for having a better draw early on), but the game's not afraid to hook you and kick it off once you do get past the initial opening sections. The quest system is also rather archaic and something I hope they improve tremendously in the spiritual sequel.

The combat system is so much fun though and I love exploring every area.

Never played Xenoblade so I can't speak for that, but Okami was well worth getting through the beginning. Though I'll definitely agree with you that it starts off sloooooowly... actually took me a few days just to get through the bogged down tutorial stuff because I kept putting it down after a few minutes.

Definitely agree with Plum, Okami is well worth the slow beginning. Work your way through it and enjoy what comes ahead. :)

As for games... Pokemon X, Pokemon X, Pokemon SoulSilver, Pokemon X, Pokemon X..... Pokemon X? I think I might've forgotten that one.

Though I'm planing on playing more Colosseum/XD to get the rest of my good Poke's off there before cartridges/memory cards get too old x.e

A lot of good games end up starting out slow.

Every tales of game starts out slow to me. All the cool stuff is later on lol.

The first game that comes to mind that I think starts off fast and maintains that drive is Ocarina of time.

Okami is mad fun. The beginning was indeed kinda slow, but after that.... it gets really good.

Okay so I'm trying to use Gamesurge and the chat doesn't show up at all. I try to use the java applet instead and allow it but then Windows denies me for some dumb reason anyways.

All this talk of games with slow starts reminded me of the best JPRG ever...
Final Fanatasy 13.

The first 20-30 hours: As meh as meh can possibly meh.
The last 10 or 70 hours (if you want 100%): Moderately Playable.

I love this game (I've beaten it 5 times and got 100% twice), but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who enjoys having fun unless it was on sale for like $5.

That moment when your white GC controller comes in the mail just in time for a fest.
I'm so happy right now.

Cecil has to be the most flamboyantly fabulous looking main character i have ever seen. And even then all he did for half the game was brood.
God i really hated Cecil as a character. He was just... so ugh. He was pretty cool as a dark knight though.

Alfonzo, I feel similar about other games as well that I love but would never recommend.

(But I can't for the life of me name one right now).

EDIT: Oh yes, like the SNES original Tales of Phantasia. Holy hell that game's hard to play. I love the SNES soundtrack the most of any version (besides maybe NDX which nails it the closest), but the game's just super archaic. The PSX remake is hella more enjoyable and Suzu really helps round out your party into less "tank everything while spells take forever to animate" and more "rush the **** outta everything". The original Tales of Destiny isn't much better but I'd say still playable.

Cecil's internal conflicts are what drives much of FF4 though. He's overcome with guilt over the consequences of his actions and the king strips him of his post for questioning orders. He tries to make things right by denouncing his past self but he later finds himself as a pawn in another twisted plot. He might be a goody-two-shoes by the end of it, but seeing the sh*t he's gone through, he gets a pass in my book.

Zidane's definitely the most likable FF protagonist though.

Well if you put it like this.... I guess he can pass in mine as well.
But Zidane is so not the most likeable FF protagonisT xD

Chest to chest to me? You don't want none of that.

*beats his fists against his sternum.*

Real talk, though, I need to finish FFIX. As much as I dislike that grinning idiot, the rest of the characters and the story weren't awful.

Well, at least he's the most believable is what I should've said. Flawed characters make interesting characters, at least to me.

Tidus annoys the hell outta me, though that might just be the voice acting.

I ain't a fan of Tidus, either, but at least he had character growth/progression.

Total agreement with you on the flawed bit. It's why I like Terra from VI so much.

Mine's Kefka, easy. I'm a sucker for nihilists. I just wish the writers of VI expanded on his derangement a little more instead of glossing over it.

YES SMOOTH.
Kefka easily takes the best villain. He was just so evil yet funny and goofy. And the fact that he wasn't the real main villain until the half way point makes me love him even more.
And terra is also my favorite protagonist. She was so confused and so full of doubt for much of the story. Seeing her get past that was pretty cool.

FF4 is my favorite out of the series, followed by FF6. Cecil and Kain were very flawed and their interactions in the game were fantastic.

Alrighty who's your favorite villain?
Easily Kefka. From casually poisoning an entire kingdom's water supply and laughing about it afterwards to ushering in the apocalypse, becoming a god and leaving the world in ruin, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people simply out of boredom, Kefka was beyond any sane person's comprehension. A pure psychopath. Not many people like to go this route with their villains, usually giving them ulterior motives or some sort of backstory of how they used to be good but circumstances have changed. Nope, Kefka's just an insane prick. It's kind of funny.

That and he actually succeeds in destroying the world, so there's that too. Such a fun character.
