Most melee terms are either really self explanatory, or built upon already existed terms in other fighting games, such as wavedashing and everything that builds out of that. There are a lot of silly names like hax dashing that get used sometimes, but most people would just say wavelanding backwards off the ledge instead of saying hax dashing. Most of the silly AT names are from the early times of brawl when everyone and his mother would find something even slightly out of the ordinary and instantly give it a name, often renaming old techs and such.

I fear for any new cool techs found in the beginning of smash 4.
I still remember when tripping was almost called ink spotting.

DACUS was a good tech name IMO though.

i think the PM community should decide once and for all, if MR Game & Watch's Short Hop Double Bacon should be renamed to iHopping, courtesy of whoever the **** said it first over in the gnw boards

I'm still *** at DIing. but your goal isn't to DI to counteract the knockback like I thought it was, your goal is to go as close to the corner as possible. There are a lot of differences like SDI, ASDI, dual stick DI, and a ton of differences that change your initial knockback position/direction, but at the bare minimum your goal is to reach the corner. so If a move sends you at like a 40 degree angle your just want to DI straight up. If you get hit by a fox up-smash which sends at like an 80 degree angle, hold down and towards the corresponding corner. It takes a lot of recognition of what move they are going for to do so, but thats the bare bones of DI. If someone pulls up a good guide/video take that advice over mine though.
Le thanks serves of soft. Whenever i would "try" to Di, i'd never aim at the corners, or moving the control stick in the proper direction. This was hella helpful.

I think I might start solo maining Bowser, because my futile attempt at maining Kirby has left me in nearly every match losing game 1 and switching to Bowser to try to come back.

Ive never really had a solid main :/ i switch between ganondorf, falco, and mario. GnW and mewtwo are good secondaries... Oh and now that you've mentioned bowser, i really need to get better at using him since he's the main reason I started playing pm

Were you at Game Underground today? Do you plan on going almost every week?

I never had any interest in playing bowser, but I watched a video of phish-it tech chacing on the top platform on dreamland with down-b options and I just was so impressed. down-b DJ waveland jab reset and down-b dj side-b grab are both orgasmic. I wish Yoshi could DJ out of his down-b, imagine the needlessly increases movement options.

I actually like some of the brawl tech names. Glide-tossing isn't completely acurate but it sounds really nice. It guess since it did exist in melee technically it should have had a name, but I'm pretty sure it was just refered to as item tosses out of shield. Strictly speaking roll-tossing would be a better name, but then aerial glide tosses, although we could then call them ARTS, isn't technically correct because its not a roll.

But damn, I want to call all Toon Link recoverys a good use of ART now.

Yes, I was at GU today and I will hopefully be going every week as long as I'm not working on Thursday night.

And wtf is a sex kick?
Like Toaster said, the hitbox usually starts out strong and ends weak, persists for a very long amount of time, and usually involves the player character extending a leg outward. Good examples are Link, Mario, and Sheik's N-airs. I don't know if Sheik's bair is considered one, but sex kicks aren't limited to n-airs.

Doc. Mario's n-air is an exception to the sex kick's damage depreciation, in that it starts weak and ends strong.

Okay guys, just wanted to let you know I finally got the picture of a t-shirt my friend did custom for me, it shows my favorite character, Roy (a Roy custom shirt) and I thought you'd enjoy it. So enjoy!

PS Sorry about the shoddy quality of the picture - it was taken from my phone, which is only an iPhone 4. Boy am I behind.

True list here - also to add-on I am very certain Samus has a sex-kick too.

Also, I meant to add earlier my friend that did the shirt does commissions for these kinds of shirts and he's open to ideas if you'd like him to do some custom work for you! I only got it free 'cause it was my birthday.

I'm having the same thoughts about Link. The matches that are close with Link I feel like playing Dedede would have helped me.

Agh. This game. Tournaments. Killin' me. I need more practice. Need to not suck.

He still didn't get rid of all of them. Altho I'll admit that was one hell of a comeback
Until Brand ate his spirit.

and you always have to explain it to someone who doesn't know what it is. boost grab and boost smash having the same terminology would have been nice.
Good thing 'wave smash' is already established terminology, or I'm sure somebody would've called it a 'wavesmash'.

****ing 'wavebounce'.
