I prefer the gods being in the backstory but long dead in history or not anthropomorphized so much honestly. You know how Link is always sided with the Gods? I'd like a Zelda where the Gods are the bad guys and Link is fighting against them. That would be cool.
I mean something like instead of fighting against Ganon you're trying to revive him instead. Link has always been a light character. I'd like to play as a dark version of him.I prefer the gods being in the backstory but long dead in history or not anthropomorphized so much honestly.
Are the talking trees gods? Does it matter?
Maybe have Link fight against angry spirits, but that would just be TP all over again.
It seems like a good idea on paper, but I would think that would involve a lot of backtracking or repeated areas. What if Dark Link was literally playable? You could basically see the story from two perspectives. Dark Link is summoned to mess things up and Link has to clean up after him later on.
Dorkly suggested that assuming he is a "dark reflection," he would talk a lot and take care of cuccos. I wouldn't mind either of those things in a zelda game. What if Dark Link was literally playable? That sounds exactly like Majora's Mask.Zelda doesn't need anything drastic, it just needs to stray from the formula a bit, not so dungeon heavy.
Less massive overworld with more focus on exploring it. Lets try to surprise people, get out of the Overworld -> dungeon -> find item -> use item on boss. I mean that's fun and all but I think there's enough creative people at Nintendo to do something different and take a chance on something.

Non-coincidentally, all of the best games in the series are the ones that are furthest from "the formula".Zelda doesn't need anything drastic, it just needs to stray from the formula a bit, not so dungeon heavy.
Whyyyyyyyyyyyy .oh man i still remember when i had a pretty decent charizard
my charizard is complete *** now
You be trippin'. Windwaker is way better than TP.
This is too weird, never heard a single person say they like WW, and as for TP, everyone who's played OOT like's TP even more than that, TP's sales are even higher than OOT'sTP? That's a first. The bosses and overworld sucked in that game.
I'm with the "Wind Waker is the best Zelda game" camp.
For me, Zelda games are all about the adventure and exploration, and no other game in the series captured that feeling as well as Wind Waker.
The world is so wide open even relative to other games in the series and I think that's what makes the game for me more than anything else.
I've played through Wind Waker dozens of times, and each time the game feels totally different. I love how I can totally control the pacing of the game moreso than any other Zelda game. I've done runs where I juts go from one temple to the next with no sidequests or exploration. I've done runs where I take my time to enjoy each island. I've even done playthroughs where I just go where the wind takes me with bare minimum direction changes. Each time I do play through the game though I discover new sidequests, new secrets, or maybe just a better way to do a puzzle; no matter what though Wind Waker feels fresh each time for me.
At least in my opinion, no other Zelda game comes close to matching what Wind Waker accomplishes. The way the art style, music, story telling, and just feel of the world itself all just come together make for such a beautiful gaming experience.
I can totally get some people not enjoying the sailing, and the fact that a lot of the exploration is totally outside of where the story takes you rather than more alongside it. It's not for everyone I guess. For me at least though it is just the best Zelda I've played. It might not be as groundbreaking as say, OoT, but it took everything in Wind Waker is just turned up to 11.
I don't know what it is about Zelda games, but it always takes a few years before people truly start to appreciate the title, since it's around the early years when it's still new, fans will rip it apart, and reviewers will praise it to the moon.Zelda fans are horrible, this is old news. That's why I'm glad that I only like a few specific Zelda games and I do not consider myself a fan of the series as a whole.
what kind of stuff do you guys usually discuss? If there's anyone who would wanna join us on skype at some future point for a podcast about project m, you can inbox me here on smashboards with your skype contact details, relevant subjects you'd like to discuss, etc. and maybe you can get in on it

Oracle of Ages is soooo goooood.Wind Waker is still the second best 3D Zelda (not that that means much). But it's not even on the same level as MM, which is in a league of its own. WW is still a "Zelda formula" game, it just happens to be better at it than the other ones.
2D Zelda on the whole > 3D Zelda anyway
