AND OR
PMDT decision makers sought advice from lawyers about upcoming Lyn / Knuckles reveal, further updates, or the project in general.
Doesn't matter which one.
Like most humans, they fear for their livelihoods. In one sense this creates careerists who do messed up stuff for security, on the other hand it keeps people from doing really boneheaded stuff. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it can be.
In that fear the decision makers, rightly or wrongly, eventually saw the only recourse for their personal security to be disbandment and an end to development.

I'm kind of torn about Knuckles and Lyn. On one hand I want to respect what the PMDT did and 3.6 is a really great version.

On the other hand they're so close to getting finished, its heartbreaking. If development didn't cease we might have had them in a few months.

Alright so I don't really want to get into this buttt here it goes anyway

It contributed a lot to retorhic iirc. Internet Aristocrat and King of /Pol/ were "leaders" I guess.

Idk, maybe they truly believe that she isn't praiseworthy. The twitter posts dismissed her as the Ms. Male trope. I honestly think that they do like to incite a little drama here and there because it is good publicity, so they bait.

Edit: it keeps me interested at least. If they were truly compelling more of the time I'd probably stay a lot more interested.

Neither of them were "leaders". There was always groups of people in the subreddit and in other places(I would relgiously lurk the thread about it on another forum) who thought King of /pol/ was full of ****, he was hotheaded and had clear ties to MRA(who are just as bad as the crazy feminists) groups and was obviously in it not for the vidjya game ethics but as a way to push his agenda. He got a big following but after some other parties who were in contact with him called him out on his bull**** he was dropped almost immediately. It might be accurate to call internet aristocrat a leader because he's responsible for a lot of people joining in but he never really did much aside from make those videos. He observed from the sidelines and once he realized that the group wasn't doing what he wanted them to do he bailed out to Isreal(at least that's what he said in his last audio recording).

I sided with GG back then because I was legitimately sick of game journalists, reviews are garbage and tell you nothing about the game, "journalist camps" like the one Konami did with MGS5 are complete bull****, clickbaity articles are crap and they stopped(for the most part) doing deep investigative reports. The journalists who were involved in the whole issue were snarky assholes during, before and after the meat of the mess. I sided with GG because although I often disagreed with their methods/what was posted on the subreddit, I thought they were the only group that could actually change things for the better. And even though not much changed aside from Joystiq going down and Gawker losing a bunch of money I think there was progress, the reveal of the email group journalists used to decide which games to review was a good step in revealing how little effort the journalists make sometimes. And as a result of the movement I now think IGN is probably one of the best video game review sites you can go to lol.

About the actions done by whatever subgroup in GG did, everyone should realize that both sides were completely awful. Both groups did things that are absolutely revolting. Death threats, doxxing, calling the other group subhumans or illiterate idiots and DDOSing happened on both ends. All of the "twitter giants" are huge idiots. It was bad on both ends and was a lose-lose for everyone actively involved.

The subgroup I lurked in actively fought for ehtics, but not all of them were like that. That's the thing with decentralized movements I guess. Some went down the cultral marxism path and some went down the death threat/doxxing path. All I'm trying to say is, it was a massive pile of ****, not much got done and not much was "won" so to speak. I eventually realized that I was getting burnt out so I stopped following what was happening after March of this year or so and went back to doing what I love, which is playing vidyja games and arguing with other people that Ocarina of Time and Banjo Kazooie hasn't aged well and The Witcher 2 and 3 are overrated to an obscene degree and that Titanfall was nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

..Man it seems like I mostly just tell people that their favorite games are overrated, oh well

Knuckles is like, pretty much done. I think he needs Stock Icons and like....winposes and that's it. Lyn is a different story but I think Knuckles would be cool to have in Ripple's build.

Just idle dreaming though, but I really like how he flows. Like a heavy hitter but he's fast enough to compete, yeah. Not broken or anything, but a lot of fun for sure.

There's been some interesting discussion about Gamer Gate here (I don`t know why it's been going on, but whatever), and I'd like to add my two cents.

Gamers rallied against Anita Sarkeesian, Feminist Frequency, and similar campaigns that objected to how woman are portrayed in video games for a key, obvious reason that few want to acknowledge mostly because it's awkward. First, let's fess up that people who identify as gamers are typically "losers". Gaming is a platform and outlet for this subjugated class to congregate and regain some power, feel socially fulfilled, achieve some happiness, and so on. I presume most gamers felt unfairly targeted once these feminist academics stepped forth and decried their community as fundamentally corrupt. The demands issued by feminists to the gaming community must have felt oppressive, in a highly ironic twist of fate. I image gamers' internal rhetoric was something like, "I've already drawn the short end, why are you trying to cut me down further?" Excuse the crude and vulgar analogy, but telling gamers they're oppressive is like telling poor people they're a detriment to society for drinking too much.

To rub salt in the wound, critical feminists specifically targeted over-sexualized female characters in gaming. It seems especially cruel to denigrate a group of sexless males for indulging in compensatory, over-sexualized entertainment. The existence of characters like Bayonetta is more sad than offensive.

Anita and her colleagues have merit, even if they tend to be too determined in relation to how serious their cause is. My main criticism against them is their lack of empathy for gamers. Misunderstanding their target makes their efforts inflammatory.

She isn't an acedemic. She is a blogger.

Eh, you get used to it. Happens often enough that I can recognize when I'm awake for it or not, and then it's mostly just 10 minutes of "oh, I can't move, oh well". Still toying around with the dreams themselves though, I can control my own actions but I can't affect the dreamscape itself yet.

Life goal: become a saint (I interpret this as being really strong in the best way possible).
Professional goals I believe would aid in this: write fiction and journalism and opinion pieces, and sing for weddings and stuff maybe even become director for the church choir.
Romance goals that would aid in this: get a really strong woman capable of independence with a great set of hips as a wife.
How the heck am I going to develop these skills?
Read constantly, listen to podcasts and blogs and watch videos. Critically analyze everything. Become an apprentice with a fiction writer, or submit constantly and ask how to improve constantly and try to improve constantly. A well stocked mind is imperative. Get singing training, sing daily and search constantly. WRITE daily. Copy, transform, combine. Try over and over and over, and most importantly fail so that inane fear of such dies.
Work out.

Here I am, sitting at 21. The greatest enemy is the self. Sure I listen and read occasionally and sing twice a week, but this is not enough. I could be well on the path to professional greatness right now.
