Meh, not really.

The only time a tsundere starts being well-written is when she stops being a tsundere. Like Shana from Shakugan no Shana in Second and Final.

It also happens to be when they stop being annoying as ****. Then again, that heavily depends on whether it's an actual tsundere (Shana) or an annoying, violent, ****** litte counterfeit tsundere. (ZnT's Louise)

I didn't mean the "story" so much, since I do think it's possible to have well-written characters without a big amazing story sometimes.

But I can never take shows like Yuru Yuri seriously at all.

And the moe isn't the reason why.

Lmao did you just say that tsunderes can't be well written. That's just wrong. It's such a popular character archetype because it's easy to abuse, but it's also popular because when it's done well it works. Asuka and Tohsaka are fully fleshed out tsunderes. Shana is not a fleshed out tsundere; she just stops being a tsundere. Louise is a psychopath.
