I'm not sure what my favorite song is, but I'm pretty sure my favorite band is Blue Oyster Cult.
This is one of my favorites from them :

I have recently started to really like Janelle Monae recently. The instrumentals are amazing and complex, her voice is incredible, and I can usually identify with her (very deep) lyrics. Also, I can't help but respect artists that are just making whatever they want while writing all of it. Many of today's musicians I'd have to put the word "artists" in quotes because they don't do anything but show up and sing their lyrics while their team of 20 writers, their musicians and their producers do everything.

Here are some of my favorite songs of hers as of right now.

With all this Foo Fighter talk, I feel obligated to comment. I don't actually like the Foo Fighters. Lots of people assume that that's where I got my tag, but I made it when I was like 6 or 7 and had never heard of them. When I was first asked if I got my name from the Foo Fighters my answer was "The what?" Now, before anyone rages at me, it's purely a matter of taste. I have nothing against them (and I think Dave Grohl is a great guy), but their music just doesn't really do anything for me.

I'm a huge fan of pretty much anything Corey Taylor does. I don't really mind getting flak for it---I think he's a fantastic vocalist and lyricist (songwriter/composition, maybe not). You like what you like, man.

Speaking of, I'm half-tempted to buy that EP that Stone Sour just put out (Meanwhile in Burbank). I usually don't buy EPs, but it's got an excellent collection of tracks, including a great cover of mother****ing Creeping Death by Metallica.

There almost isn't a single genre under the sun all over the world that I don't listen to and find something I like in, so I don't have a lot of particular bands, groups or artists I like.

But if we're talking those kinds of stuff, I do really like Muse, Halestorm, Mystery Skulls and Evanescence. There's tons of other group I probably like to and I just don't recall their names at the moment. Plus, I listen to a lot of game music, freelance made stuff, movie scores, anime and tv show soundtracks, remixes and arrangements, covers and mash-ups.

Speaking of Halestorm, one of my favorite songs from them is "Don't Know How To Stop" because of how well DK seems to groove to it.

Can't stop the Dong.

i'm still wanting to see more actual gameplay and their plans for world exploration and building, since that was my primary draw from banjo kazooie (that i remembered, at least).

still pretty hype about this, though!

muse is really good, i like them a lot : D their first album has some really nice songs on it, but i don't like it in its entirety. i really liked absolution, and i actually did a lot of silly (head)storyboarding for story lines and other oc **** with black holes and revelations.

You and me both. XD

Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations, Origin of Symmetry an Showbiz are my favorite albums. Hullabaloo grew on me after awhile and I had to pick out a few tracks from The Resistance. I had to listen to The 2nd Law a few times before figuring out what I liked in it. Big Freeze is fun to sing because of the sheer hammy nature of it. <3

But funny enough, know what my favorite and most listened track from The 2nd Law is?

"The 2nd Law: Isolated System".

That song puts me in a very...strange state of thought. I love it.

Stone Sour's The House of Gold and Bones pt. 1 and pt. 2 changed my life. Especially Part 2, which was better than Part 1 in almost every conceivable way. It's a concept album that falls in line with a story that Taylor wrote. It's not exactly the most elaborate narrative but the message behind the whole damn thing is just so powerful.

@ PlateProp PlateProp - I wish I knew, but apparently it's a common problem. The vibrations and heat from the dryer and cause it to happen I guess, and it can happen to bad soldering jobs in other big appliances as well.

There's a crack in the solder, and then it starts vibrating, heating up, and then burns a hole in itself.

Just had to scrape off that crap and re-solder it back in. Works for now.

I'm not sure how to feel about Muse. I like them, but I really only like parts of their songs, rarely do I have no issues with the entirety of one.

Knights of Cydonia is always a joy to listen to, however. I listen to that one while working out, and it's fantastic for it.

Digital Love will forever be my favorite song. The timbre of every element is perfect, the melody is my favorite melody of all-time, the different sections are all great, and the Wurlitzer break is my favorite musical passage ever.

This is the song that I base most of my songwriting off of.

I just realized that I've been looking at my posts from a year ago that got a lot of likes for a morale boost for about half an hour.

This isn't a contest anymore. I really think KI's OST is the best out of all the newer fighting games. Hell, might even be better most of the old school FGs.
mick gordon is on another level with fighting game OSTs, he's brilliant. a good fighting game theme should basically make sure it's a unique concept to the character while still fitting with the overall theme of the game, and mick does that while still casually working with multiple genres for the same game

best fighting games music of the modern era

All this talk of music reminds me of how it seems I won't need to rearrange my music in P:M from 3.5 -> 3.6 like I had to do from 3.02 -> 3.5, which makes me glade. I'll just need to figure out what kind of music I'll want to put on Delfino's Secret. Hrmmmmmmm.
