Generally the power suit lets her do, well you know, everything. Like morphball, missiles, charge shot, grapple beam, screw attack, jumping.
What if they made a metroid prime 4 where her suit gets stolen for galaxy domination therefore force to play as zss? She has chozo dna coursing her vains for **** sakes, I'm sure they come up with some neat power-ups (add vbrawl's side-b/down-b while they're at it) and make the story legit.

That'd make for a pretty boring game, considering all of the environments would have to be babyproofed with round corners and nothing sharp since the Zero Suit doesn't protect Samus for ****. Plus, Space Pirates already tried to reverse engineer the suit in MP1, and that didn't work out for them.

3. We need to seriously examine and tune stage boundaries. Ceilings in particular are too standardized. It's a bit ridiculous and it's part of the reason you see Fox run around everywhere for free because everything has too standard of a ceiling. Do we need more Dreamlands? Maybe not, but we should probably get stages with more diverse boundaries. We focus a lot for onstage design, but we need to look at boundaries too to make things better.
i highly agree with this. i wasn't even that concerned about the fox issue, i just think the ceiling/wall blastzones are a bit too homogenized still, primarily the ceiling. i'd like to see more stuff like a wario ware with a super high ceiling blast zone, just to have different options going on.

costume upgrades for her suit/tna's then? Even with the suit she still needed upgrades/add-ons for her suit to survive intense heat/acid rain/etc.

The Metroid games always highlight in some way that Samus is helpless without her suit, so don't let Brawl fool you. ZSS has only been playable in Zero Mission as a stealth segment, and the main goal was to get the suit back.

I enjoyed Other M more than Prime 2 & 3. Then again I kinda just ignored the cutscenes and story in Other M like I do with all metroid games lol.

Other M had fairly solid game-play, not perfect mind you, but if the story and characters weren't abysmal it would have been a pretty fun experience.

I had fun with Other M, but the story was almost identical to Fusion and the voice acting was terrible. The Japanese version has much better voice acting... I would've enjoyed Other M considerably more with these cutscenes instead of the English cutscenes.

Why exactly do people hate the story? I though it was fine. It furthered the overarching plotline of Samus slowly starting to piss off the GF.

So the only problem with other m is the cutsences not the gameplay itself? Well I can understand not be use to hearing samus actually speak much but why is it getting bad review exactly? If its just cutsences then I don't see why its getting such low scores, then again I haven't really look into other m that hard.

Its a victim to its own success. It wasn't like the metroid Prime series, therefore everyone pooped on it. The game is fine, its just not great like MP1 was.

I didn't mind the game play of Other M aside from how clunky 3rd to 1st person view transitions were really clunky and I hated being immobile to shoot missiles.

The plot really horribly executed and even good voice acting wouldn't have remedied the bad writing. It made me rather disgusted that Sakamoto, one of the original men behind Metroid, thinks that her portrayal in Other M is how she should be. I like hurting heroes but she was portrayed in an incredibly misogynistic manner. If it was meant to help the franchise appeal more to Japanese gamers, is that kind of portrayal of Samus the only way to make her more accepted over there? It's so jarring that a character who originally broke the mold for female video game protagonists is now falling into the tropes that others were criticized for. I could go on but I'll stop.

On a different note, apparently Samus's voice actress was directed to sound like she had just taken a bunch of codeine.

Biggest video that stood out to me about Other: M

I personally hated Other M because it destroyed the character of Samus as she had been established by past games, and the gameplay didn't feel like Metroid at all to me. Gone is Samus as a loner, a bounty hunter who flies solo; instead, now she's emotionally dependent on a man to tell her that it's ok before she can do anything. Samus' suit is fully equipped at the beginning of the game, but she doesn't use most of her abilities before Adam gives her permission. As for the gameplay, there's no sense of isolation, which is one of the key aspects of the Metroid franchise. The presence of allied units, much less voice acted, fully-fleshed out characters, isn't something that the Metroid series needed in my opinion. This is something that's not unique to Other M, as they'd also done this in Prime 3 and (to a lesser extent) Fusion. There's also barely any exploration and the combat is awful. Having to point at the screen to shoot missiles is really ****ing stupid. That said, sensemove rolls at least look cool, as does her suit design in the game.

Just my two cents.

I forgot to mention, while I was going to sleep at 2am last night I thought it would be hilarious to post a video "Me vs CPU, $5 MM" or the redundant "Me vs CPU, Friendlies"

Saying people didn't like it because it wasn't Prime is insane. Someone already brought up the Extra Credit video and main issue isn't that she has a more developed character, it's that it is a an awfully written and borderline mysogynistic portrayal of her.

The game play is really boring combat and extreme linearity to absurd degrees. I have no idea what Sakamoto was on when he produced this game.

I thought you lose your second jump after the down-b. How are you able to do a FH, down-b, then a second jump?

Oh and on the topic of Other M, the gameplay was fine.

But the fact that they changed Samus from a cool, badass female character to some misogynistic, weak shadow of her former self really pissed me off.

My school's "Gamer's Guild" randomly decided to host a Melee tournament, although it seems rather casual for a tourney as they haven't stated any rules or even if there's an entry fee or a pot prize. I'ma go impress casuals with my mad tech skills, later

Bring a set-up
Because you don't lose your second jump after down B.
I still dare people to try and go as far as I did in the video
