My second tourney. Got 4th here (9th with Ganon/DK but mainly Ganon in that one). Please give me legit critiques.
Skip to like 4:29 unless you want hear about some rival school banter....or DK/Ganon talk or stream setup stuff. I encourage you to watch the entire stream.......
you should use more nairs to jabs when landing or approaching. Another good approach you could utilize is more grounded upbs a nice mix up is to just run close to them and side b(hopefully break shield) or upb going back and forth when you approach now they will think more and when dealing with shulk if he has shield or buster I enjoy just running from him and being chased until the power runs out shulk players get very frustrated by this

watched the first set vs. snake, you have a fantastic neutral game, def. props to your victory there.

watched both sets vs dabuz. There is a great rosalina and luma around here, and I also have trouble against that character, like trying to get inside a fortress at times. I noticed you never tried to up+b out of rosalina juggling you while you were on top, I've never faced one with customs but that might be an option. BTW, a good combo with kong cyclone is cargo upthrow to up+B. People always expect cargo upthrow to uair, so if you can surprise them with one of these you'll guarantee hit them unless they jump UP, which only happens if they know its coming. Next time you have a rosalina at 70% or so give it a try and I think it'll kill her up there...I'll have to try this in practice to see myself, I've only done it in matches a few times vs my brother.

BTW, the game is still young. Try to learn and master the cargo throws against the stage when they are at the right %, on some stages you can cargo upair into the stage and others you can do a quick turnaround as you're beginning to fall off the stage and do a cargo downthrow stagespike. Of course you can also jump off them in certain situations, so just look for those. If you ever choose to do cargo backthrow or forward throw against certain stages you can only come back if you can manage to jump on them or have chopper kong.

Will, is it a possibility that we can ever have a WiFi friendly?
Sure thing man! I mostly play WiFi on stream during the weekdays. Other than that it's hard to keep up with those who want to play. So if you stop by during my streaming hours I can guarantee you a set!

The air approach is a holdover from brawl, where you could actually get a back kick in within the last frame or two before you hit the ground, meaning they had to hold on to shield or get hit, also meaning that they couldn't do anything out of shield before you could (which meant you could just jump and do another quick back kick before they could respond). I still do it in sm4sh myself all the time even though it's dumb half the time I approach that way (you can't kick within last few frames like before).

You need to put a lot of work in. You have to know how to use those back kicks on a quick turnaround run, and how to do them quickly in the last few frames that you can still get them off. A timing thing. Other than that you'll you get better through practice and some thought.

Also, you have to get used to using all of dks moves, both on the ground and in the air, because they are all useful.

It's probably you then, because I'm typing this from a different computer than I posted the link on, and it works just fine.
How is it I knew you would say this without checking it? Yeah, all of the videos have ZERO views, because they cannot be seen. Try again foo.

You seriously assumed I didn't check to make sure it worked before I responded? It's worked fine on every computer I've been on today. I'm running the video as we speak. The view and followers count is obviously a bug on Twitches part. I wasn't even logged into Twitch, and was STILL able to watch the vid. just fine.
The vid. runs fine, it's on your end.

doesn't work on an Iphone. We can debate whether that's because of Apple or Twitch.

For some reason the video doesn't work on mobile devices, but the video does work. That's me btw though lol. If you see the side B for no reason I was trying to up B. Was kinda rough vs Felix cause I shield too much.

Hey bro anytime someone gives you salt just for being custom Dk ask him how many times custom Dk has won a local tournament, and walk away. Didn't like watching that rosalina being mad at your Dk. You played well, were very patient with everything you did.

Eh. I just laughed and didn't say an ything. It's kinda funny how a Rosalina player with Star Shot and a Trip Seed/Explosive Balloon Villager were complaining about DK though.

Thanks though. I wish I'd played more patient/smart vs Felix though. I definitely could've taken that.

Konga's face after beating the villager player in the first round. Priceless.

Good matches.

Apologies for taking so long, but everything has been updated. Trying to make things less cluttered, so may have accidentally broken some of the links. If anything's not working, or if I missed your post, let me know.

I literally started playing DK just yesterday. I am in love. I am going to be taking him to a local round robin this weekend so I can get wrecked and have some fun with him. And I just wanted to share the feeling I am guessing all of you have as well when playing as the big guy.

If you haven't played DK listening to Kanye or some sick rap I highly recommend it.

What you guys think?? Wanted to show yall what i came up with. You think itd be escapable? In theory if someine were to roll you would just have to predict where they would roll and then perfect pivot the opposite way and catch them with a jab 1 or d tilt. Maybe some other options along those lines too. Would deff like some feed back.

Please critique me! I'm not too used to customs yet just FYI and my tag was Mizzou cause I had to represent.

Me vs Doctor B (Falcon)

GF's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U79DlHTReY

Me vs Hug? (Luigi)

If you have custom up b you have to spam it a bit more, if you ever watch wills stream this is actually something he demonstrates pretty well. I also noticed a few parts you could have cargo down throwed against the stage. Otherwise pretty solid, your experience shows.

Here are some of my recent matches all with Customs.

vs Denti (Yoshi/ Diddy) Winners Bracket

Watched it on stream, good job.

I think the frame data department makes dk vs Yoshi a bad matchup, in addition to the fact that Yoshi is one of the most mobile in the air, has a quick forward air spike (faster than dks), and can prevent dk from approaching with back airs due to the throwing of eggs. I think picking the right stage vs Yoshi is the best option, stages like Delfino. I think also this is one of the few matchups where king cyclone is undeniably better, and I don't like playing with customs so that tells you something I think about the matchup. It's just tough. I haven't played a Yoshi offline so until I do I don't really have anything more to say about the matchup at the moment other than the thoughts above. You have a pretty solid dk though and you played a great game 2 when you first picked dk.

Played at a recent Washington customs Tournament. Fought vs a Ness, Rosa, and Sheik.
Ness: 1:27:08
Rosa: 1:41:45
Sheik: 1:53:54
http://www.twitch.tv/teamkhaos/v/6145482?t=1h27m08s
Videos aren't on youtube and most likely will not be posted there, so meh.

Any tips are welcome, especially vs Sheik. I got decimated lol.
Also @ nikoryan nikoryan , if you're having trouble landing like you did in game 3, just go for the ledge. Yoshi is far too fast for you to make a good landing on the stage. Also recommend banning FD if you ever play vs projectiles. Yoshi's also love to grab release into Jab, so if you get grab released then just shield then time your grab to shield grab them and punish with Cargo Uthrow double jump Uair(if they're below like 60%). They also love to jump then B-reverse their neutral b for a free grab, so reverse aerial rush approach with Bair is a lot safer than a running shield approach. Or if they're coming down from the air and they're not throwing out any hitbox and you're close, they will most likely neutral b. Spotdodge and grab at that point. You played extremely well in game 2 though. Game 3 just looked like tournament nerves tbh.
