As you've just said, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Pichu or any pre existing/clone character make it into the game due to lack of time and the overall ease of it, however I just don't see this being the case for EVERY ballot character. They wouldn't need to create the ballot if that was the intended purpose.

Oh yes, of course. I completely agree. I think Sakurai is cognizant of the fact we're expecting at least one newcomer. I can't shake the fact that it was Iwata who convinced him to even open this ballot in the first place, though. You know how we were all wondering how Krystal could possibly play like if she were in Sm4sh. Well I think Super Smash Bros. Crusade gives us a good idea of what that would be like. Here's a video that I found to be very entertaining:

Just look at the attention that comment has gotten too. The Smashified team can't help but notice that.

Lets list it like this, Namco Bandai made Assault, they also designed Krystal in there, they're also helping Sakurai with Smash with not just the development but I believe with the updates and DLC as well. You also have Alesia Glidewell in there who not only voiced Krystal in Assault, but she voices Zero Suit Samus, and now just recently Sakurai confirming she was indeed considered for Brawl.

It's crazy to think this, but I think like Wolf and potentially Isaac, the fact these three are absent on their own ends is making me think they're planned, but dont quote me here, everyones come up with theories for the character they support.

Well, not new so much as old. They just used the SF64 cast for Fox and Falco since they were on hand already for the 3DS remake.

Oh, really? Well either way, I wouldn't consider finding a VA that big an issue. It's only Smash after all, she'd only have a few lines at best, aha.

Hopefully they'd get someone who can sound as similar as possible without it sounding forced. After becoming so used to Fox's Assault voice, for example, it took me awhile to get used to his voice in Smash 4, heck I'm still not fully sold on it. A voice actor I follow actually made this clear when asked by one of his followers, he said they have to sign a NDA contract that basically states they're not allowed to speak of their role to the public unless given authorization to, this depends though but it's common sense to not really say anything if you were doing something that wasnt from a major company.

Safe to say a company like Nintendo would want them to keep their lips firmly sealed, then. Especially considering that recent uproar over the employee they fired.

I guess this article proves that Krystal would never turn into another Fox kinda like character in smash.

I've seen plenty of people saying Wolf should be back, wondering why he diden't made it into sm4sh.

I think it was probably due to wolf's moveset personallyI don't think he brought anything new to smash bros some of his moves seem to be inspired by other fighters sonic neutral air, metaknight up air and down smash, charizard foward air, plus fox falco specials and smash final.

I am so going to play this now I heard that she was added in smash flash 2 I don't usually play fan made games but because of her i wanted to give it a try , turns out it was smash crusade never actually heard of but ohh well.

Honestly, I don't really like this moveset. It's too all over the place in terms of moves. I think in terms of moveset, she should use the staff for most, if not all her attacks.

I've heard worst as far as voice acting goes, I just don't think the voice suits Fox at all. Not to mention the drastic change between the two. It's like if Mario suddenly turned Spanish or something.

Actually I think who can do the voice of Krystal. Kari Wahlgren would be the perfect choice there. She nailed it with her character Emma Frost in the animated series Wolverine and the X-Men.
