I'm pretty sure they will be the Lurrell and Hardy of spirits mode. Am I the only one who thinks this? DDD serves Waluigi purpose in Smash. And he's arguably a more synced fit to Wario.

I like that a lot actually. Being anti-heroes you could simply have them doing their own kind of goal on their own while villains like Bowser, King K. Rool, Ridley, Ganondorf, Bowser Jr. and Dark Samus as well as say mercenaries like Wolf are hired to collect spirits.

The story mode: You control Wario, and your goal is to date as many of the other Smashers as you can. (Mostly the male ones too, like Mario, Luigi, etc, but you have the option to date the females.)

Hades being an recurring antagonist and among the masterminds behind the whole plot having recruited villains like Bowser, Bowser Jr., Dark Samus, Ganondorf, King K. Rool and Ridley becoming this Masters of Evil type team to do his bidding to collect spirits as well as hiring mercenaries such as Wario and Wolf.

I also want to see Lucas and Rosalina & Luma team up just for the son-mother type bond that they could develop. Perfect example being Lucas finding himself at the mercy of some of the villains (Say Bowser, Bowser Jr. and King K. Rool only for example who has been tasked together) only for Rosalina due to the motherly feelings she's developed towards Lucas to go mama bear on them all and upon winning the fight saves him.

In my Super Smash Eternity's Story Mode: It's called Kingdom of New and here's the synopsis:
(This is a cross between Subspace and Melee's Adventure Mode)
When an entity named Overseer captured and brainwashed all of the veterans and newcomers (including the echoes) except Kirby, Yoshi, King DDD and Lincoln Loud who had survived the attack crash landed in the mysterious Kingdom of New, Now the four must explore this strange place and rescue all of the corrupted fighters to defeat the Overseer
might do more soon?

I always had this idea of going through small stories that go for about 30 mins to an hour. Each story containing the max of 4 players. Not long, but hopefully replayable. Something like this:

Luigi's (Unfortunate) Day Off - Luigi was enjoying his dayoff at Delfino Plaza when left over enemies from the Subspace have suddenly arisen. Seems like its job Luigi! But what are the Koopalings doing here? (Kooplings of your choosing)

Ladies Night 1 - Bayonetta and Palutena are at it when suddenly angels have arrived. "Corrupted angels?" Palutena says surprised. They aren't heading for the witch or the Goddess, but Princess Peach and Rosalina! Whatever they're up to, the Four need to work together to stop their plans.

The True King(s) - A sudden King has arrived and has threatened to take over the land. King Dedede, King Bowser, King Ganadorf, and King K. Rool have joined to stop this mysterious king that has threatened their land.

Snake's Plan B - "Snake, we have a new mission for you, but be vigalant. We don't have much time. The enemy is currently developing a bomb that will destroy a large portion of this world. Luckily, three new recruits will join you: Mario, Pit, and Lucario. You remember Lucario, don't you? Good luck out there."

Ladies Night 2 - Daisy was suppose to have a date night tonight. Key word: suppose to. A new era of enemies has crashed her night. Thankfully, Zero Suit Samus, Lucina, and Female Robin were around to help her out.

All You Can Eat! - A buffet has arisen in Pac World! Chef Kawanakwa has prepared food for our four heroes: Pac Man, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and Luigi. That is...until some external force has stripped their food source. Find out what it is, and get back that scrumptious food!

I Choose You! - The Pokemon Gym Battle is tomorrow. Wait... its today?! Pichu, Charizard/Ivysuar/Squirtle, Greninja, and Jigglypuff, lets go, before it to late! Hope nothing gets in our way...

Street Brothers - Ryu was going on a one-on-one battle with a mystery hooded enemy. But it seems like Ryu's opponent has brought in some back up. Luckily, Captain Falcon and Cloud have arrived. Oh, Ganadorf is here too, but only because "he wants to show them who's King."

It can be done Online, or with a group of friends. Maybe with some dialogue, but only like Palutena's Guidance, where the silouette will show up for whoever is talking. Those who don't usually talk of course won't have dialogue.

So, I’ve had the idea for this epic (at least I think so.) Story Mode for a Smash game. The only thing is it involves NPC’s. It’s sort of a mix between SSE and Smash Run. It’s very detailed and long, but if anyone is interested I can surely divulge.

Continuing on with my story, King K.Rool would turn against the villains, as soon as he finds out about Ganondorf's true plan, control Master Hand and Crazy Hand. He joins the heroes side as a result. Wario and Piranha Plants also sided with the heroes. and have joined the fight as well, as with , Female Byleth and the unknown Arms Rep.

However, Tabuu knew about Ganondorf's plan and eventually attacks not only the heroes, but also Master Hand, Crazy Hand, Ganondorf, Dark Samus and Ridley. The hands where knocked out, and Tabuu fights the characters, but just before any playable characters could get the finishing Hit, Tabuu got hit by a deadly beam, belonging to Galeem.

The heroes and villains thought back, but almost all of them got hit by those beams, but so did many other characters.

I want something like Subspace Emissary, but with gameplay that's snappy and exciting like Melee's Adventure mode. Maybe each character has their own unique Adventure mode, with cutscenes that eventually tie into each other like in Pulp Fiction. Once you complete all, the final chapter is unlocked, which you can choose to play as anyone. All the stories the characters have experienced collide and it all ends with a grand battle against the final boss, maybe, The Master. What remains of the body past the hand is revealed, appearing from the darkness. With such a huge boss, it would make sense for it to be a huge team battle. Have the cutscenes with great (and mostly with no dialogue) character interactions like in Subspace Emissary and this would be the definitive Adventure mode!

Continuing on with my story plot, but this and my next one will focus on what is important.

The Cutscenes

The heroes are about to finish Tabuu off, but a large beam hits Tabuu, instantly finishing him off quickly. Then it appears Master Hand has recovered and, wait... there is another Master Hand and another, and 10 more, and then 100 more and a lot more then the characters expected.

"Don't let a single one get away" said as he shows his gun at them. The heroes (and villains) prepare for the next attack. Then Galeem arrives on the scene, with the Master Hands fast approaching.

"Were going to at least take down 10" said as he stands his ground. "Stow your fear, it's now or never" replies, preparing for a fight. "We'll win this, I know we will" continues the discussion, but little that they know, that Pit has tempted fate.

Just then the hands disintegrate into light. "Mamma Mia, what is happening" said in shock. Those beams then go near Galeem, and those lights charge.

"Where going to need to change our plans for this fight" says in confusion. "What plans do we have?" questions what Sonic Said. "All l now is that we are not giving up without a fight" said Boastfully.

The lights continue to light up, and so does Galeem. Then suddenly, got a horrifying vison, of fighters getting defeated quickly. "It cant be?" Shulk said in shock. "What is bothering you?" said in a concerned tone. "Those beams are approaching, and ESCAPING THIS IS A MUST" Shulk yelled in horror.

My only idea for a story: starts with Wario exploring a cave in search for riches. As he progress deeper and deeper, we (the player) see that this cave is not a simple cave, mysterious structures appear in the background, weird symbols, ominous drawings on the walls. Wario just keeps moving, convinced that a big treasure is waiting him. Of course, he finds a big sealed chest at the end. Using nothing but brute force, he opens it and unknowingly releases a new threat to the Smash world. The cave explodes sending Wario flying with the classic Star KO effect, and this evil entity starts manifesting itself across the diferents lands of this world. At this point is when we can start with the "character meets another and team up" part.

I don't have a name for this entity, but since Galeem was Light and Darkhon was Darkness, I think this entity embodies Corruption. His design is close to Zero from the Kirby series, except this one is a white and black sphere with many red eyes appearing at random on its body. But his most important trait is an aura of corruption enveloping it, with geometrical figures popping here and there. Like the effect that happens when a game gets corrupted.

Maybe I'll expand on this, but it's really hard to come with ideas. Specially, since I want meetings between characters make at least a little bit sense.

So far Smash has had only two story modes and has done the 'plot' of: an ultimate power is capturing characters, absorbing worlds and making evil clones of said characters and a small group of fighters has to save the rest THREE times so I'd agree with the people in this topic saying we would need a more witty and self aware story but there's a problem Sakurai disagrees, the original plot of subspace was apparently more comedic and self aware but Sakurai wanted it to be more serious and it seems that the only way to tell a story with that tone is an ultimate power is capturing characters, absorbing worlds and making evil clones of said characters and a small group of fighters has to save the rest.

tries to back up, but he becomes Galeem's second victim (after Tabuu). Bandanna Dee got hit next, causing a big stir.

tries to block the beams with his shield, and it surprisingly works, but the beams hit faster then he expected, and eventually, he gets overwhelmed and he got hit next. and suffered the same fate.

tries to fire her blaster to counter those beams, but she got hit next. and attempted to fight back the same way, but they too got hit. and tries to unleash their attacks, but they got hit by those beams as well.

and try to counter with Naryu's Love and Confusion, but it gets passed that, defeating them quickly. and tries to use their down special, but it does not regenerate, it only defeats them in one hit. tries to use his reflector to protect Midna, but it fails, defeating both. and tries to defend Shantae and Ray-Man with their counters, but it does not work, all 4 got hit by those beams.

and tries to outrun the beams. Sonic tries to save Pikachu, but Pikachu gets hit. Sonic gets hit shortly afterwards. is trying to help and Dixie Kong escape, but even they cant escape. acts like his usual selfish self and uses his motorcycle to escape, but he too got hit. screams and runs away, but he too got hit. tries to jump above them beams, but it does not work.

tries to dodge using Bat Within, and she succeeds in dodging a few, but got she got hit by the next beam. tries to counter, but he got hit. "We better prepare ourselves for the next attack" said as he tries to escape. tries to charge up his attack, but he got hit by the beams as well. tries to charge at Galeem, but he gets hit. Shadow tries to slow down the beams with Chaos Control, but it fails and he gets hit. and tries to dodge the beams, and they briefly succeeded, before getting hit the next beams. and try to use holy water against them, but this evil cannot be defeated, as they get hit by those beams.

has gotten a final smash and he uses it. and fire what they can at Galeem in a beam of war, but they all got taken down. Fawful tries to use his blaster, but he too got taken down. and try to preform airstrikes. Ridley fires his flame, but he gets hit. Bowser Jr avoids a beam by jumping out of his clown car, but as he lands, he gets defeated. Lugia dodges a few beams and fires it's AreoBlast, but it too got taken down. and also fell victim to the beams.

and Bio-Rex tries to jump into their ships, but they got hit, just as they jump in.

and tries to dodge some beams, but Lucario got hit. Greninja jumps out of the way, before getting hit as well. and tries to run, but Peach got hit. "Peach, NO" Mario yelled in horror, before jumping one more time, and getting hit by the beam.

and shoot out ink and hide in it, but the beams got them too. tries to duck, but it got hit too. Steve mines down 3 blocks, but he got hit, just before he can place the block of Obsidian. and try to climb down a cliff in order to escape, but they all got hit. tries to fly away, but they got hit as well. The 4 try to use Zoom to escape, but they all got defeated as well.

The S.S Dolphin is being loaded with passengers, consisting of and the 2 Byleths. and tries to distract Galeem. "This is Falco, Operation: Distracting the light is a go" Falco said. "Good, we must make sure the S.S Dolphin makes it out" Fox replied.

Unfortunately, Fox and Falco got hit by those beams as well. tries to use her gunship against Galeem, but she too got hit. The S.S Dolphin tries to fly away, but the beam hits it, taking out all the fighters inside, except for Mr. Game and Watch, who jumps out, but he too got hit.

and tries to fly away. tries to use her reflector, but she got hit. Pit and Dark Pit loses their flying abilities, and then they got hit. The Unknown Arms character (either Spring-Man or Min-Min) tries to launch itself with a speed bump, similar to the ones from Mario Kart, but Galeem's beam got that character as well.

tries to hide in his box, and he and the box got hit by the beams.

and tries to fly away as quickly as possible, but they all got hit as well.

panics, braces for impact, while the Duck tries to help the Dog escapes. prepares to use her tree pose. They all got hit, but the tree pose made the Female Wii Fit Trainer last a bit longer, but not by much. is sleeping and tries to a badge he used in Subspace on her, but they both got hit.

tries to escape using the Warp Star and...He SUCCEEDS. But Galeem is not done yet. Galeem takes out many more characters, turning them into spirits. Kirby lands later and notices a new world, but Kirby is not going to give up anytime soon. For Most people it's doomsday. For Kirby, it's just another Friday.

Also I considered having Mario, Samus, Pikachu, Bowser and Sonic be amoung the survivors, but instead, I just stayed with Kirby. I do have a way for them to survive.

Thanks for clearing it up, I'll change it.

As for where the first wave of fighters are, Ray-Man, Shantae and Bio-Rex are placed where their spirits used to be. Lugia is found in a new area, the Pokémon Stadium, which also contains Pokémon spirits, certain spirits (like Shovel Knight, Knuckles and the Squid Sisters), along with the boss Giratina.

The Stadium is located between the forest and the small town (the map is extended a bit) but Bandanna Dee is guarding it. and are located in the World of light as well (Banjo and Kazooie being in the grassland, and Hero located in a possible map.

I have also decided to include a new Shop owner, being Professor Oak, who sells Pokémon and other critters, plus he is very iconic to the franchise.

Shadow is located in a new part of the World of Dark. There is a new big map area based on Minecraft. Dixie Kong, Midna, Fawful, Piranha Plant, Joker and Steve are found there, along with Minecraft spirits and a few others. The main boss there is the Ender Dragon.

I've considered having the villager being a shop owner but I'm on the fence for that one.

There might be mini boss rushes, but I have not decided yet.

As for where the first wave of fighters are, Ray-Man, Shantae and Bio-Rex are placed where their spirits used to be. Lugia is found in a new area, the Pokémon Stadium, which also contains Pokémon spirits, certain spirits (like Shovel Knight, Knuckles and the Squid Sisters), along with the boss Giratina.

The Stadium is located between the forest and the small town (the map is extended a bit) but Bandanna Dee is guarding it. and are located in the World of light as well (Banjo and Kazooie being in the grassland, and Hero located in a possible map.

I have also decided to include a new Shop owner, being Professor Oak, who sells Pokémon and other critters, plus he is very iconic to the franchise.

I always had this idea of going through small stories that go for about 30 mins to an hour. Each story containing the max of 4 players. Not long, but hopefully replayable. Something like this:

Luigi's (Unfortunate) Day Off - Luigi was enjoying his dayoff at Delfino Plaza when left over enemies from the Subspace have suddenly arisen. Seems like its job Luigi! But what are the Koopalings doing here? (Kooplings of your choosing)

Ladies Night 1 - Bayonetta and Palutena are at it when suddenly angels have arrived. "Corrupted angels?" Palutena says surprised. They aren't heading for the witch or the Goddess, but Princess Peach and Rosalina! Whatever they're up to, the Four need to work together to stop their plans.

The True King(s) - A sudden King has arrived and has threatened to take over the land. King Dedede, King Bowser, King Ganadorf, and King K. Rool have joined to stop this mysterious king that has threatened their land.

Snake's Plan B - "Snake, we have a new mission for you, but be vigalant. We don't have much time. The enemy is currently developing a bomb that will destroy a large portion of this world. Luckily, three new recruits will join you: Mario, Pit, and Lucario. You remember Lucario, don't you? Good luck out there."

Ladies Night 2 - Daisy was suppose to have a date night tonight. Key word: suppose to. A new era of enemies has crashed her night. Thankfully, Zero Suit Samus, Lucina, and Female Robin were around to help her out.

All You Can Eat! - A buffet has arisen in Pac World! Chef Kawanakwa has prepared food for our four heroes: Pac Man, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and Luigi. That is...until some external force has stripped their food source. Find out what it is, and get back that scrumptious food!

I Choose You! - The Pokemon Gym Battle is tomorrow. Wait... its today?! Pichu, Charizard/Ivysuar/Squirtle, Greninja, and Jigglypuff, lets go, before it to late! Hope nothing gets in our way...

Street Brothers - Ryu was going on a one-on-one battle with a mystery hooded enemy. But it seems like Ryu's opponent has brought in some back up. Luckily, Captain Falcon and Cloud have arrived. Oh, Ganadorf is here too, but only because "he wants to show them who's King."

It can be done Online, or with a group of friends. Maybe with some dialogue, but only like Palutena's Guidance, where the silouette will show up for whoever is talking. Those who don't usually talk of course won't have dialogue.

This is my idea of a story mode(s) though.

The DLC characters of Ultimate (including Piranha Plant) embark on a mini-quest to explain how they avoided Galeem's attack, and how they eventually linked up with the main group. If there's spirit promotions in the future, that could be part of the quest too.

Since Ultimate has already been out for a year and a half, I’ll give an idea for the sequel. There would be different groups that would eventually come together, and each group would be in a different gaming universe before meeting with other groups. Each universe has a boss. After the groups meet together, they have to defeat a final boss, and there won’t be a “purge” like Brawl and Ultimate.

This would be an example (the groups would be small since I think the roster would be much smaller in this hypothetical sequel)

Group 2 (Hyrule):
Boss: Beast Ganon
