You're just a little ray of sunshine, aren't you? All I'm saying is wario's shoulder is a pixel or two higher than the hand and when you see it like that my side is more believable. Come on, these are tiny squares in a small screen that has okay graphics. Things can look like that, I see your side of the argument, but look a little closer and maybe you'll be convinced.
My bigger question is why would Sakurai have it look like this to begin with? Sakurai's menus have never had this sort of weirdness to them. It seems like someone at some point would have said "hey, it looks like Game and Watch's arm is spilling into Wario's frame. This seems amateurish, and the Smash team is surely not composed of amateurs.

Well, it's the first mobile Smash...it's the smallest screen and not greatest graphics...When those small icons merge, things appear, is what I'm trying to say.

Guys, just look how easy it is to photoshop:
Yeah, seriously. Though, it really annoys me the number of people saying "[x] is shopped from [y], obviously". Well, yeah sure... any of these pictures could be shopped, but just because one picture of Mario looks like another, doesn't mean it has been.

People shouldn't be crying "SHOPPED" if they don't know jack about image manipulation.

The entire argument boils down to:

The images could have been shopped, it's also possible they weren't. Not like any of you amateurs would be able to actually tell the difference anyway.

Like, that's the whole discussion in a nutshell.

There's actually a thread where we discussed the menu on the E3 demo, and I thought it'd be better if the menu was split into three and you used L and R to switch between the other two parts of the menu, that way you could see all the character's names and portraits much better.

Someone else addressed how to fit fifty character slots on the small screen though, so that's just as likely.

The graphics really aren't an issue here. It's a menu screen, and the 3DS is more than powerful enough to make a nice title screen. It's almost as powerful as a Gamecube. It may be the first mobile Smash, but it is not the first 3DS game by Sakurai. Play Kid Icarus Uprising and look at the menu.

As for the number of characters... Take a look at Street Fighter IV on the 3DS.

How much better does that look than the Smash menu? Plenty of space to spare, nice separation. It's only 36 characters as opposed to 48, but still, it's vastly vastly better looking and shows the 3DS is perfectly capable of a menu that doesn't look like ass.

Yes, but those slots are circular. Squares, black borders, and a dark background make for a bad time.

I just want to add this in (or make it more clear if you implied it and I couldn't pick it up). Mario has the exact same features as Dr. Mario, and Shulk and Mac had similarities before Smash. Why can't people understand this?

I think people look too hard and there's a smaller screen.

Not sure if we will even get another veteran reveal in the upcoming few weeks but if we do, i think we will get one next Thursday or friday. If not, we may get a newcomer reveal right before or the day before it releases. If this is the case, we will probably find out very close to the same time as the release and by then...well it will be pointless.

Are you kidding me.
Please re read my previous posts.
This is so laughable its like people don't read.
You guys think that because a wario picture that looks like wario proves he used that specific image.
Because the extreme similarities are too much to ignore. And professional render people would position his pupils less awkwardly, for sure.
You say similarities but when I point out the differences it was edited right?
I already posted pictures where his eye is in the same position what makes you so sure that its this specific picture?
I can post a picture right now with similarities and for the parts of it that are not similar I can just cry he edited it to not look like it.

oh god guys his eye is in the same position he used this picture
his teeth aren't in the same position though because he edited it.

That is literally what you people are doing.

 In that official render you can much more easily see the other pupil. And pointing out that it's easy to find a pic of him with his pupil behind his nose really only makes the detractor theory better

I don't know about this "leaked" menu, but it looks a lot more realistic than the one above (most likely fake though). It just needs Paper Mario, Shulk, Ridley, Masked Man, Solid Snake, Rayman, and King K. Rool to be a perfect list IMO.

C'mon. Duck hunt dog, Dark Pit, and Dr. Mario? Might as well add Power Glove Kid and Birdo to the supposedly "leaked" list.

You're either trolling at this point or can't read.
The first picture I showed you can see the pupil equally
I already pointed out the lack of a pupil pages ago and how it was most likely edited.

You can clearly see Doc's eye while his head is tilted, Wario's is looking straight ahead and you can't see it. Its not at all professional and would not appear like that in a triple A game.
I'm asking you how do you know it was that picture used when you're pointing out similarities that are in other photos.

EDIT:LOL As another person posts a picture of wario with a pupil behind his nose he used that image too right guys?
Pack it up.

Pretty much.

Even it that weren't the case, it's hardly relevant. Photoshop is a lot more powerful a tool than people realise; you could photoshop Tom Selleck to look like Dr. Mario if you wanted to.

So, yeah. The whole leak could be a 'shop, but so could every picture of Gary Busey, and most people still believe in him.

isn't it that the hand is holding the cpu chip and hasn't locked in yet?
That is correct.
As for the percentages they don't show if you're not in a combat situation.
Judging my the levels under their player number it could be a different mode or waiting screen.

The hand hasn't selected Kirby yet. If it had, it wouldn't be pointing as it is.

BUT this raises an interesting issue...

Check out the video of them playing on the 3DS...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHYakDYtI98

Notice that the character image on the bottom screen gets DARKER when the character is selected and locked in... So if Kirby has not yet been selected, his picture should be brighter than all of the others. It is not.

It's possible they changed it to be more like Brawl, where the character is darker (actually more translucent than dark) when he hasn't been picked. However, there is no reason to think this is the case. Either way there should be SOME distinction between the not selected character and the others.

1. Yeah, the percentages missing is one of the reasons it's fake.
2. Despite me thinking it's fake, the CPU coin wasn't put on Kirby yet.

That is what it looks like when you have the marker un placed.
From 0:54 the hand is holding the marker and when it is placed the hand opens. Also note how much larger the marker over kirby is compared to the other ones which are placed.

I just wondering why the leaker did not post images of actual gameplay with the new characters if the leaker is already willing to leak the roster.

Right, but look at the bottom screen. In the E3 demo, the image on the bottom screen becomes darker when the character is selected. So, the three characters that were selected (Bowser, JR, and Pika) should be darker than the picture of Kirby.

Exactly, because it's fake.

Regarding characters getting darker once selected, that's only for your screen. If you check at 15:14, P2 selects Pit and the screen stays light until P1 makes his selection.

No the image gets darker when the player is ready in a multiplayer link match as it shows "Ready to Fight"
Since this is 1 person using 3 CPUs the player isn't ready since hes still interacting with a CPU marker.

obviously a fake I think the developers can be more creative than to just copy and paste the images from the official website to a roster screen and the newcomers slots are a little blurred there's no way

This leak has a lot of constancies with videos we've seen from the Smash 3D demo, down to little stuff like the thick borders on selected characters. I wouldn't expect a team of leakers, no matter how committed, to notice every little thing like that.
