No one posted while I was away? Tsk, I'm disappoint.
I'll take this opportunity to make a bloglike post.
Every year around this time in November, the School of Art & Art History holds a schoolwide art show called Art Bash. Every major like Painting, Drawing, Ceramics, Photography, etc. has their own little area set up among the Fine Arts building complex.
So since I'm a senior this year, I had a direct part in planning how Digital Media's area would be set up for the show, which was yesterday. We were going to have smaller experimental video games set up for people to play, keychains made from the laser cutter, another video game we'd made with network compatibility, green screen technology, and even our own commercial advertising our major. We were planning on having one of the best shows Digital Media's had in years.
To be frank, Murphy's Law just tore through us in almost every way possible.
ArtBash begins at 6 PM. Less than an hour after the show started, we had a pretty bad power outage that knocked out the electricity in most of our area. Half of our video game setups didn't work. We couldn't get power running properly back to the green screen. Our network video game wouldn't even import properly to the computers to work. We were in the middle of upoading our commercial when the power went out so all of that progress was lost as well.
After that our show was mostly some video work, half of our video game setups, and keychains/objects made from the laser cutter/3D printer.
Needless to say, by the end of the night the seniors were pretty much left wondering what in the world all of our hard work for the past few months had been for. Probably one of the biggest letdowns I've felt in a really long time.

Hope everyone else had a better Friday evening than I did.
