Can't wait to see it man.

See I like doing stuff on the laptop because I get to color stuff in a lot faster. Off of a laptop, colored pencils and paints and stuff are limited resources. In Photoshop I can just click on the color wheel and go crazy immediately. But I have to keep drawing in pencil so as not to get rusty over the summer. :\

That pic of mine is the first thing I did by hand in a long while. And using color pencil even longer. And the thing is, it's not really complete. I REALLY should go ahead and do the background.

EDIT - Neon, you are only as limited with your colored pencils as you make yourself. I used, really, only six colors for my piece there.

The #1 reason I work pretty much exclusively with graphite.
Subject to change soon, my Bday is in 2 weeks and I'm hoping for an intuos4 or enough money to get one :D
I really don't like being restricted by time and the medium I'm working with, and I have a feeling that working digitally is going to make a huge impact.

My instructor always said to work outside your comfort zone. It'll make you a better artist.

I believe it. I just have yet to really work outside my comfort zone. That goes for subject and medium. :/

It's not that I'm not comfortable with anything else, I can paint with oils, acrylics, and watercolor, I use colored pencils and inks, and I sculpt and do woodworking.
My problem is money, time, and the fact that I get bored of things half way through and can't commit.

Oh god I feel like that all the time.

I'll never get a start on my comic with work ethics like that.

The key is to keep it interesting as you draw. I used to (kinda still do) have the same problem, but then I started to draw quicker and more loose. It helps prevent me from grinding to a halt on a drawing, and it keeps my mind active and not bored by details

Yeah I usually have an interest to quality ratio that I follow. It's exponential though, as soon as I see I'm losing interest and my work quality is going down I quit.

Neon. Have you spoke with Virg about the status of our AWYP?

I noticed they had a Write With Your Power recently. We should get something going too, soon.

I dunno... Doesn't look like AWYP will be coming back lol

Definitely fun while it was here though, and it was a great idea.

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=278801 <-- We could always make this a regular sort of thing. Just make different themes each time, y'know.

Is there any way I can get Virg to give me the orange name, at least? :(

That sucks. I wouldn't mind just having the casual project more though, even though I totally dropped out of it last time... lol

Yeah, maybe we should do another one. I had a good time doing it last time. And the theme should be Favorite Artist. You do a painting in the style of your favorite artist. lol, jk.

Lol maybe I should change the title soon :p It's been the same for a while now. People should still do self portraits if they want though.

Also, I'm working on some business logos for family members. I think I might need your guys' help with design ideas. :l I got art block.

Black Rock Shooter was an animation project by an artist named Huke. It started out with a Vocaloid video and it's now an official OVA. I think they have plans on making it a full fledged anime.

I get the blue walla but what do you mean with dead around the eyse?

I think did the eyes really well. I think it portrayed the state of constantly being tired I was in very well.
