Whenever I watch team tourneys, I always watch for moments when the fighters chain moves together into an effective offense. But when watching some other tourneys, certain teams will look more or less cohesive. That got me wondering. Who is the best partner for each character? Well, since I’m a casual Brawler, and I don’t have the expertise to judge, so why not ask the experts? I originally tried this on GameFAQs, but the users in general were immature, or not qualified to give the information. Then I remembered the specific boards on Smashboards, so I brought the poll here. So who do you think the best partner is for Samus?

Rules:

- The poll will last for a week. If it becomes popular, it may last longer.
- You may only vote for one character.
- Assume friendly fire is on.
- Assume there are no items.
- After posting your answer, give a detailed reason why you choose that character. If you don’t give viable information, your vote will not be added.
- You may ask to change your vote if you have a viable reason.
- Discussion on your choices is allowed. NO FLAMES!!!
- If you vote Pokemon Trainer, you must discuss details for all his pokemon.
- If you vote on the Pokemon Trainer poll, you must discuss details for all his pokemon.
- If you want to use videos to explain your reasoning, feel free to post them, but remember. I play this game casually, so you have to explain what parts of the video are important and why they are important.
- You may vote on multiple polls.
- If issues occur, I may add or remove rules, so be sure to review the list.

Pikachu, for good KO ability and his chainthrow which may lead to team comboes. He's also a small target and harder for you to hit in Team attack. He's also got(I believe) a fairly good tier status. I've been partnered up with pikachu in all three smash games and it has served me quite well. If your partner is good, then he/she can snatch kills from off your d-tilt with thunder.

With team attack off pikachu is even better as he can assisst you in projectile spam and use thunder as a clear-out move. Samus can do the damage dealing and pika can go in for the kills. Not to mention they just look great together for some obscure reason...

I can't say who is better to match up with Samus, because when I do team battles, I am always on my twin brother's team. So, it's more of a bond, I guess you could say. My brother knows who I play as, and I know who he plays as. We brawl with each other and know each others attack pattern. He'll do one thing, and I'll do another. Since we're familiar with each others attacks, we make sure not to get hit. If you want to get some specific detail with Samus, I guess I'll give you mine.

I main Samus and my brother mains Ness. I do prefer doing team battles where we have Friendly Fire on, as well as playing without items. So, one of the things I like about Ness is that his PK Thunder can help you out if you don't make it to the edge. For example, if I had used my Screw Attack, but I wasn't close to the edge, my brother could try under the situation of using his PK Thunder on me to bring me back. I'd get an extra jump, as well as another recovery.

Another thing I like is the fact that Ness is short, so if I have any opponents who are taller, I can simply z-air over Ness and hit my opponent. Furthermore, Samus can use her Charge Shot to re-energize Ness if he is at high percent. Again, that's under certain situations, but if the Charge Shot is fully charged, it may be able to give Ness back -30%. That's a good thing.

Samus needs a fast, hard-hitting character to balance her out.

I think Zero Suit Samus would be a good doubles partner. She's fast, has some good attacks, and can paralyze opponents to set them up for Samus.

You'll want a partner with reliable kill moves whilst not being a large target for zair/missiles. I can easily say MK, Kirby, G&W, Fox, Snake, Pikachu, Wario and Olimar. I can't really say anything more because I don't play that many team battles.

Zelda would be nice since samus can spam homing missiles in front while zelda sits in back spamming dins fire.

I'm voting DK in my own thread. He's a freakin power house but hes not slow.
I say DK as well.

His hitboxes are obnixious and allow him to pressure opponents from far outside of Samus' threat range. DK's defensive game (Uairs, Bairs, Ftilt, Dtilt) can easily be used to occupy one player while Samus uses her amazing comboability to rack up an easy 80-120 damage on the other team member. From then on, an Fsmash, Monkey Punch, or Dsmash from DK can usually take out the damaged foe. At this point, DK and Samus can switch to maximize the overall effectiveness of this strategy.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a character who couldn't be taken on between DK and Samus. That makes this team hard to counterpick against, which tips things in your favor from the get-go.

I say Mario;

-Easy to fast fall Z-air over his head and hit opponents in front of him without hitting him allowing for HUGE punishments (due to stun on opponents).

-Fireballs and missiles/z-air/plasma is ridiculous punishment.

-Mario can easily kill opponents whether its with forward smash or down smash. He can gimp most opponents as well with his cape or fludd. He can combo great.

-Team combo's are easy and deadly, fludd plays a big part (fludd to spike/plasma/fully charged forward smash). It's also useful when mario capes you at the end of your roll and you slide across the stage with a charged down smash. Mario can easily save Samus (if she should need it) with an up-b.

I have a doubles partner on gb thats a link a real good one we have a record of 4-1 so far so i would say link when used right is a good partner for samus toon link maybe a bit better but idk.We have pretty nasty gang up strats such as i homing missle they block or get hit then link grabs i charge shot and repeat if we can and for a kill i grab he dairs.Since samus and link are so good at pressuring people to put there sheilds up its easy to grab people. The only thing is you have to help your partner with a missle or zair if he is in trouble of getting gimped since thats links main problem.
