I got this idea from the Pit boards and I figured that it would be a really useful remind for the Pokemon Trainer players to follow up their moves. Now it does not mean that these follow up moves are going to be successful because it all depends on the opponent's DI and their percentage as well. Each of the Pokemon's moves will be broken up into each category. I'll help get this thread started, so if I miss anything, let me know!

Squirtle :squirtle:

Jab

Jab - Grab

Jab - F-tilt

Jab - Jab

U-tilt

U-tilt - U-tilt

U-tilt - U-Air

F-tilt

F-tilt - Jab

B-throw - B-Air

Only use the B-throw when you want to throw your opponent off the stager, or if the players percentage is below 20%.

D-Throw

This move is meant as a finisher, not a combo starter. Therefore, it has no follow up combos sadly...

F-Smash

F-smash - F-tilt

F-smash - Grab (when used with the shell shifting technique)

U-Smash

U-smash

U-smash comes out fairly slow, so don't bother using this one as a combo starter

D-Smash

Again, this move comes out very slowly and the ending lag is horrible, so don't bother considering this move as a combo starter.

Nair can follow fair and bair, and fair, bair, and upair can follow nair.

You can also grab, jab, or ftilt after a ff dair.

Squirtle f-tilt into ANYTHING

I wouldn't list follow ups for Bullet Seed... there's so much cooldown it's pretty much a separate read if you do land anything.

what the hell kind of DI would land you a vinewhip after bullet seed? o.o
It's a very incredible statement for the sole factor I was only able to pull it off once. I caught my opponent in a Bulletseed and they happened to start DIing forward so I stopped my attack and just as a reaction I vinewhipped him while he was in the air. I never put much thought into what I was doing but it worked :/

Squirtle's B-air can combo into U-tilt you just gotta sourspot it.

Also trying to follow up if you fast fall a d-air and get lag gets a bit to risky sometimes I've gotten punished pretty roughly after FF'in a D-air.

D-airs lag if you FF is a combo wrecker

Just a bit more off the top of my head:

Charizard can dair after a sourspot bair. Sourspot bair to sourspot bair to dair is pure win.

Nair to Rock Smash is amazing.

Rock Smash to upsmash is the second best combo in the game to Bowser's fsmash.

surely it didn't sweetspot?

unless you were playing against jigglypuff or something?
It was against a Wario and I don't remember if it sweetspotted or not. This happened all the way back in October. I think it might have because I remember getting a clean hit and not getting punished for it.

Single jab with Squirtle gets you KO'd if you try to cancel into anything else, as far as I can tell.

Very important info to list here Chompy cause these are all true.....especially rock smash -> Up-Smash its a little old and gimicky but it doesnt take away from the fact that its 61%.

You forgot the "**** they DI'd too far away combo" Up-Tilt > F-Tilt

No one does that on purpose, but it is legit. It's always when you tilt the stick too far to the side during an Up-Tilt chase.

I found out that at the previous tourny, f-tilt is a relatively safe move to use after bullet seed. I would also like to think any tilt on Ivy would be good to use as a follow-up.

Even if the opponent is right above you, it touches the character from Ivy's F-tilt? Does it work on every character or only on certain characters?

I'll have to try that out.

I added some additional combos under Charizard. Check and see what you guys think.

I think he's suggesting that they don't go far, so that their only options are using their double jump or airdodging to the ground (and getting hit as a result).

umm...squirtle has to much landing lag for iDair to anything to work...believe me...I've tried iDair to uptilt and well the opponent can jus jab out or grab you after the iDair if they are still in front of you

and also I go that term from the oli boards

they use it for Nair iNair=incomplete nair making iDair Incomplete Dair

but yea I dont think Dair combos into anything...but Ftilt does go into Dair because people try to shield grab after the first hit thinking you fair'd them or something

Utilt to utilt works for charizard also. I usually get it after good spotdodge...utilt -> utilt -> upair, or utilt -> utilt -> read airdodge -> dsmash or grab

No, d-air without the last hit definitely doesn't combo into anything. U-tilt can be a followup if they don't react properly though... tends to be somewhat safe if you land the d-air behind them.

While an incomplete D-Air doesn't combo into anything, I find that it often throws the opponent off well enough to follow up with something. Not something to rely on, but I guarantee you'll "get lucky" more often than you might think.

Ivysaur's D throw into Vine Whip?

Maybe? I do it sometimes.
I've tried it many times before however there is a small window of opportunity to air dodge. I know it's impossible to use on Wario since his dodging abilities are amazing.

I used to do that a lot lol. Was pretty fun, but generally there are better options. Generally it goes like this:

If they don't play against PT much, the first dthrow is a vine whip. Otherwise I dthrow, they airdodge and I follow their momentum and pivot grab their landing. Then I dthrow again, and uair/fair/nair since most players won't airdodge immediately afterwards a second time.

The rest, as they say, is too much effort to talk about.

Character and DI dependant. But the angle the dash attack sends your opponent leaves it as a pretty safe follow up.

In tournament I landed dash attack to sweetspot vinewhip on a Toon Link on Brinstar's bottom left platform and it killed him at 36%.

Yeah i was thinking around that percentage range. Is Dash attack > Jump Vine whip a good idea at higher percents? U air is also a good option. Maybe that's already listed though.

If you have a platform to cancel the lag of aerial vinewhip, go for it. Without it, it's a tad riskier.
