While this may or may not affect voting, an idea I had for an Iroan Wingull and Pelipper is Flying/Dark turning them more so into a Frigate Bird type appearance. In this form, instead of looking for small fish pokemon to feed on, they are opportunistic predators and will steal catches from both fisherman and normal Wingull and Pelliper alike. They evolved this way due to an overabundance of Wingull and Pelliper in the area so a few who couldn't compete evolved to become larger and more fierce.
It's signature ability is Opportunistic where it can steal any item used for the first time in the match by the player. It also has a signature attacked called Lost Lunch where a strike that lands a critical hit on the opponent causes any held berry or food to be "spat up" which results in the Wingfull/Pelliper eating it and gaining its affects.

Iroanian Florges
Remember what I said on how Gogoat could reference Pan, well what was Pan known for, Pan Pipes, which are made from reeds, and it was said the reeds the first pan pipes came from were made by a nymph who transformed herself into the plant
You know what that means

Florges
Fairy/Grass
Florges in this region hid away from the outside world due to there beautiful flowers attracting poachers, feeling pity the legendaries transformed fused them into a nearby pile of reeds to dissuade poachers due to their somewhat draber colors.
Over the centuries the reeds they fused with starter to make mystical sounds, said to calm any Pokemon, this made them coveted in a new way, Florges are used to create soothing lullabies to relax troubled people and Pokemon, in fact you can chime into a radio station featuring a Florges making such sounds in a soothing melody that has a chance of leaving the wild Pokemon asleep.
However Florges also have a sinister side to them, if they or their children get disturbed in any way they can create a frequency so potently ear grating that it can collapse anyone who heard the accursed melody. Since Pan also coined the term Panic due to his noises causing distress.
Due to fact it fused to a Reed plant it gains the much requested grass typing, but that's not only it, the use of sounds in its arsenal gives it one of two signature abilities.
Fae Melody: Similiar to Primerina's Liquid Voice, but instead of converting sound moves to Water Type Attacks, it converts sound moves to Fairy Type Attacks.
Offkey Strife: Sound based moves are boosted in power by 20 percent and has a chance to flinch.
I wasn't intending for River Wheald to be early on, I only asked for that challenge for theming with the holiday. It'll be most likely a later game locale.I don’t think River Wheald would be a good early location due to the presence of Ghost pokemon. That being said, I think the Ladon River is a good source of inspiration.
Ride PokemonI know I'm probably in the minority on this, but I'm actually in favor of bringing back the old HM system. The modern format of Ride Pokemon/Hidden Techniques/that thing BDSP did that I don't think had a name is less interesting because they're just things you unlock and then can always do. HMs force you to strategize, try to balance battle performance with overworld traversal, and figure out which of your Pokemon are best to teach the hidden move.
That said, I do think the concept can be improved. A few ideas I have are to make HM moves more varied (give a few different types and/or add interesting battle effects), let multiple different moves do HM things (have Slash cut small trees, have Rock Slide help you climb rocks, etc.), and keep how SWSH let you delete and remember moves earlier and more easily.
Pokegenesi personally would rather continue to use Ride Pokemon. I think this could be potentially interesting given the subject matter of our landscape as well as looking to Pokemon who never got a riding chance to do this. We could decide what previous HMs to include and which Pokémon would fit there. We could even have a roster of Pokemon to choose from to summon with maybe some of them having additional properties. A more outlandish idea is that you could maybe even attribute a Ride status to a Pokemon that you have. That Pokemon would be that Ride Pokemon for that particular action. Like let’s say you have a Gyarados, that could be your Surf Rider. It wouldn’t use up a move as it would be a Ride Status
I vote Hidden Machines (Improved).I had a cool idea for how HMs work
Pokegenes
An invention by a mysterious benefactor, these capsules allow users to gain properties of Pokemon and temporarily use their abilities
Got a rock blocking your way, gaining the power of a Machamp's punch can easily shatter that. Tight ravine giving you problems, easy gaining Muk's liquid consistency would fix that. Need to head to a Pokemon center, Beheyem's teleporting acts as quick navigation. There is so much that can be done with this concept gameplay and story wise.
What confused you? Maybe we can make things more clear next time.Sorry, I wasn’t really sure about the route 1 ideas. I was a bit confused actually.
What Paraster said. Remember, if you have any questions, feel free to ask, not just about this but in the future. Hopefully we can help.Sorry, I wasn’t really sure about the route 1 ideas. I was a bit confused actually.

I reread Paraster’s submission and it made a lot more sense. I think it was just because the first one…What Paraster said. Remember, if you have any questions, feel free to ask, not just about this but in the future. Hopefully we can help.
…read like a block of text and was difficult to piece out what was being asked of. Having an example like Parasters out there gave some idea what you were looking for.As we have no other submissions, Venus of the Desert Bloom 's submission wins by default!
Now then, these jobs are gonna shake things up a little bit. Firstly, our first proper discussion job, woohoo! Discuss amongst yourselves what you think we should do about the HM debacle. As we all know, HMs are those pesky moves you gotta teach to your Pokemon to break overworld obstructions in the main games. They've often had replacements in recent years, from the Poketch app to Ride Pokemon. How do you think we should handle HMs? Discuss amongst yourselves your thoughts. This discussion will end at the same time as a job, at which point the decision will be made.
Now, even though we have only just finished a location job, me and Paraster have been discussing the past routes we've worked on. They are lacking in information that would be vital on a Pokemon route, such as Trainers and Pokemon spawns. Thus, we have decided to go back and properly implement these. These new requirements will be implemented in future job submissions. Paraster has made a handy dandy template for you guys to use in these challenges.
For this challenge, appearance/inspiration can be safely ignored thanks to this being a preexisting location. However, for layout, please take note of the original submission for the location in this challenge. Layout in future location submissions can be made to your choosing (as you'll be making those yourselves instead of a premade location). Potential wild Pokemon cannot include completely brand new Pokemon (A Fakemon), and must consist of returning Pokemon, unless you are drawing from the preexisting fakemon in the Iroan Dex. Remember that for future creation of Fakemon jobs that past locations for it can be decided while making it (Not that all will be designed this way)
- Location Name
- Appearance/Inspiration:
- Layout (broad description):
- Wild Pokemon (from Iroan Dex):
- Potential Wild Pokemon (not yet added):
- Trainers (class, name, Pokemon rosters):
- Items (note what the player needs to find them):
As for trainers, we've created a select list of trainers that will be returning from older Pokemon games that cannot be submitted in future trainer challenges. These trainers are thus far
-Youngster
-Lass
-Bug Catcher
-Fisherman
-Ace Trainer (Cannot be used for this job)
-Veteran (Cannot be used for this job)
-Backpacker
-Hiker
-Gentleman/Madame (Cannot be used for this job)
These will all be added to the OP and can be used in future jobs. Returning and new trainer class jobs will be in between new locations in order to flesh out the classes available. For now, please stick to the group selected for this job and remember to stay within the common sense boundaries of the job (Example: Having a Youngster in a theoretical Victory Road use Level 1s or a Veteran being on Route 1 using Level 20s)
Items can be plucked from prior installments, with few exceptions (Example: Don't put the Master Ball or the Stone Plate in very obvious spots on Route 1) New items shall be made in later jobs. TMs are off the table for now until a discernable list can be made, and decisions are still being made on how to handle that.
Note this information listed here is subject to change as time goes on, as is data decided on routes depending on how future jobs change things. Please ask any questions if I've confused you on accident.
For now, our proper challenge. Redesign Route 1 to fit within these new guidelines
As said in the title, using these new guidelines, redesign Route 1 to fit them. Not much more explaining needs to be done as to how as I've already explained the specifics, but make sure to keep it balanced to an early game Route 1, don't go too crazy. If you have any further questions on specifics, feel free to ask. We'll close submissions this upcoming Thursday, March 10th, giving you guys five days for this job. Have fun yall.
To help with this challenge, this is the description given in the original Route 1 submission from Venus.
This will have your typical low level pokémon including Pidgey, Sentret, Wurmple, and other Pokemon as it winds down to the beach below. As you get closer to the beach, players may come into contact with Sandyghast, Snadshrew, and Wingull. A lucky trainer may even find the regional variant, Ironian Bunnelby. This makes this route very diversified from when your leave Thalassa Town. It is here at the Pokemon professor has their laboratory.
Note that as the Professor is stated to have their lab here, take that into account when designing the area. Designing the lab space is optional.
I see what you mean. I'll keep that in mind if I ever need to explain something in the future. Sorry I was so confusing.I reread Paraster’s submission and it made a lot more sense. I think it was just because the first one…

Would it be ok if the Pokémon evolves based on its surroundings?HM Vote Results
Hidden Machines (Improved): 2
Ride Pokemon: 1
Pokegenes: 0
Well, this was a surprise. It looks like we'll be bringing back Hidden Machines in an improved form! As a reminder, here's what my proposal for the new HM design was:
We'll plan to open submissions for specifics (which HMs are used, what move changes are made, what additional moves can to HM things) at a later date. For now, our next job is to design a new Pokemon. The only restriction is that your submission must be available in a location we have already designed (aside from River Wheild, which is significantly after all the other areas we have), so make it something appropriate for early game.
- Keep the ease of deleting and remembering moves like in SWSH.
- Alter old HM moves to make them more interesting (new types and/or battle effects).
- Let multiple moves do HM things (Slash can destroy small trees like Cut, for example).
Yep. Anything goes as long as the base form could feasibly appear in at least one of our current early areas.Would it be ok if the Pokémon evolves based on its surroundings?
