Hey guys whats up , my name is ian ( PhillyGamers.net event Director) but in the gaming world im known as Saint, yes you have heard correct paul is no longer with the PHL company but that will not stop the July 6th event from happening so im looking forward to seeing you all at our events and i mean all of you.

Just to go over a few things.
Doors open at 10am so be on time ,we will get you all signed up as fast as poss. once we get you all signed in and money collected we will get you all in a group to go over the rules and regs for the day, after all that is complete the games will begin. I ask all of you coming out to this event to take it easy on my staff ok we all work really hard to put events like this on for you the players and we are not always going to get all aspects of the games right first time out but i promise we will work out all the problems for future events you guys might have.
This company is all about the players and sometimes people forget that but i assure you all that we are doing our best to make you happy, this is our first event running any type of fighter event and steve and al seems to be doing ok but im not a brawl player so most if not all of your arguments im kinda lost in but i promise to learn all i can about the game ( you guys will have to teach me ) but i do admire all your passion for the game thats the same way i feel about this company. so i thank you all now in advance for showing your support to PhillyGamers.

Thank you all and if you have any question that i can help you with please feel free to ask.
You can contact me or anyone of our staff at....

Well, I'd just think one would want to come off as more professional if they're hosting an event, and thus type as well as possible. That's all. >_>;

I'll be spending a lot of my time with Steve and I'll be bothering Al for the money he owes me, so yeah, I'll be easy to find. :p

well being professional is hard to do when your not a businessman, for the most part everyone that works at phillygamers is exactly that, a gamer. But i can see what your saying. Steve and al are actually supposed to come over my house today for a staff meeting to sort out the final tidbits for this weekend. Your more then welcome to come as well inui. Also you'll be saddened to learn that myself and the rest of the staff aren't as easily riled up as paul was lol.
Also i forgot to mention, and unfortunately the rest of the staff did as well that apart from the cash prize for top finishers, the number one spot will get a brand new Nintendo DS courtesy of our sponsor best buy. With a game of course.

Says the guy who's grammar is appalling. >_>!!

Stop making everyone your enemy. You constantly post things with no positive repercussions, and it's bothersome. Quit it.

Paul's being riled up constantly showed us he cares, which made this event seem worth it. I'm glad you took the time to show us what you're about, but I doubt I'd be traveling to Philly for 10$, then paying 20$ to enter a tournament for a system any sane person could buy for 90$. It's a 60 'dollar' profit. Not to mention the fact that you guys support Too Many Games, which was a blood-gutted disaster. 5$ entry! First place gets a t-shirt!!! YAYUHZ.

And being professional isn't hard to do. That's nonsense. You guys own a website, which claims you have staff. Staff implies they're paid. Paid insues, to me, that you are a business. A business worker implies they are business-men. If there are business women, then you're doing it wrong.

Seriously though, you are running a tournament, which will handle OUR money, so if you're not professional, maybe I'll give it to someone else.

@brandon : Im not sure where your getting your numbers from lol. The top finisher walks away with at least 300 dollars in cash and prizes. But if you feel our tournament is not something you'd feel comfortable competing in i can understand that.

As far as being professional is concerned i assure you we try and run as smooth a tournament as possible. And as of yet have had little to no complaints about anything regarding our prizes. I sat down and read through all the pages of this forum and i see allot of passion for a game i honestly have never played, so I'm not going sit here and act like i know what I'm talking about when it comes to smash. But as previously posted by saint we are all more then willing to learn the correct way to run these smash events. And Im confidant that Steve and Al can help us with the transition into uncharted waters. I believe some had posted in an earlier reply in this thread that the philly smash scene was minute at best, well i hope to change that as best as i can. And i know that can only happen by taking the advice to heart that the respected players such as brandon, lucas, steve, m2k, al, and others are giving us. So to those of you coming on sunday, good luck. And to those who aren't hopefully we'll be able to change your mind somehow in the future.

Did you miss this part dm? Top placers get money and first also gets a DS? Is it a DS Lite or a regular one, agentblacka?

the only thing that shocked me was the 10$ entry fee. Granted I have only been to two tourneys and the entry fee was 2$. I don't know what the standard is but I'm not complaining. I'll go anyway!! :)

I didn't see the cash prize thing. I do want to see some kind of payout for 2/3/4/5 or something, as well, as M2K would take first.

I also asked for the halo3 rules a month ago! lol.

as far as money goes, the top 3 finishers leave with cash. Top prize takes the cash and the ds lite. and the halo rules are simple, MLG V5 gametypes and maps, 2v2 best of 3 series. Thats a 60 dollar buy in. I apologize brandon for the delay in getting you that info. Top prize for that is lots of money, as well as some yet unnamed radness from best buy.
