For real Lucas? MLG 2006 had Onett ON as a counterpick stage. It wasn't banned until early 07. Do more research (or try to remember) before you throw out uneducated statements like that.
That's only Onett specifically.

And you still didn't address what I said. We already have the knowledge and the common sense with regards to the stages from the many years of Melee. There's absolutely no need to digress, test out stuff we know will be banned, and then ban it. Get it over with now before it screws over more people.

Those stages will always be banned at Montage's events. When I see rules on AllIsBrawl and other tournaments here, they're almost all banned. The only one still used is Corneria, and that will soon change as well. Even scrub tournaments have the sense to ban walk-offs and walls. But, they're indeed dumb enough to allow Norfair and Distant Planet sometimes, so I won't give them too much credit.

You totally missed the point. No matter how mature the Smash community is now, the meta is still evolving and with it the stage bans will gradually change until we have a single list, and I'm also trying to contribute to it. Didn't you think Olimar was top tier at one point? What about counterpicking Jungle Japes all the time. **** changes dude, and I'm trying to narrow it done. I don't think at the moment these stages should be banned, and these rules won't change yet. You're the only one still keeping up this discussion that is pretty much futile for you, since I'm not changing the rules.

. . .Even I'm like "wut, Pirate Ship? Distant Planet?" People's opinions are different and will affect stage selection thusly.

No, I always thought Olimar was bad. I didn't think Jungle Japes was bannable until it was discovered that the klaptrap comes by every 7 seconds and that falling in the water near the left is an instant death. We've already found more than enough reasons to ban the four stages in question.

I'm the only one discussing it because I'm the only dude up at 5am. Jason agrees with me. Brandon agrees those stages should be banned. In fact...everyone but Kashif has agreed so far. Wow, what a surprise.

You're right. The debate is futile. You refuse to acknowledge every reason provided. The vast majority of the community, including the best player, known tournament directors, random players, etc. are wrong, and you are right. Clearly.

Edit: Pirate Ship >>>>>>> Walk-offs and walls. Pirate Ship lasted a lot longer in normal rulesets. You're honestly the only director I've seen in the last three or four weeks that hasn't conformed to banning walk-offs and walls yet. Get out of the stone age.

SMASH RULES: (Unlike EVO, the people who PLAY the game handle the business)
Lol, this was cute, btw.

I don't know which I'd rather have. Items or unsuitable stages?

Everyone but Kashif? Trevor also agrees with me, as does Chibi, Al and some others. Other tourney hosts have different stages on and off (with great variance).

And also, didn't this same exact attitude get your tournament canceled?

EDIT: I won't allow anymore pointless debate in this thread. Anyone who has a problem should take it up with me either by PM, meeting up with me, calling me, or discussion on AIM.

A Dedede player that said he agreed with me when I talked to him in person and two people that don't play Smash. How amazingly valid. Have you been to many Brawl tournaments? Have you checked a lot of them out? Check AllIsBrawl? I see variations, but walk-offs and walls being banned is a reoccuring thing.

No, and that's getting worked out.

Oops, my cell phone is dead and I don't have my charger, I don't see you on AIM, I'm 6 hours away from you right now, and I hate PMing. All true, btw.

Who are you again?

Just kidding, but come on. I haven't seen ANYTHING about you when it comes to tournaments.[/QUOTE]

You're absolutely right... nothing about me when it comes to tourneys... MM me please.

(Never had any tourney experience in Pokemon either, yet I went undefeated this past fall on gamebattles.com league vs a lot of the nations top players.)

I do have tourney experience, just cause you didn't attend them doesn't mean I wasn't there... and I was even at a few you were. I know enough to be willing to wager you can't win.

Your only "acknowledgment" of my arguments are "waah waah I refuse to use one of 4 'featherweights' and I refuse to play the gayest way imaginable to win."

There are more idiots than intelligent people in real life...why would this not hold true for [insert group of people here]? Oh wait, it does. Unfortunately, there are more scrubs in the smash community than not scrubs.

Apparently none posted here and tournaments with nobody good there?

Sigh. Your confidence in beating me based on absolutely nothing is annoying. I'll money match you, but I'm not travelling to your state to do so.

Lol, other than everyone I know says I can beat you. People that have played you. People that can beat you, that I can beat. I don't think I need to justify myself to john king of the community.

You're using your infamous logic again and it's making you blind. The most dangerous opponent is one you know nothing about. Especially one who knows all about you.

Prove yourself in Brawl tournaments. I don't even know who you're playing that has played me in Brawl, but it couldn't have been recently since I switched to Marth and have been winning a lot.

Marth dittos. <3

Now I want to play you for sure. People underrate Marth...and then he wins an NJ tournament and takes second in the biggest NJ tournament to date only losing to M2K.

Anyways, I'm going to practice Fox for the stages Steve thinks are totally chill and just pray I win the first round.

I'll agree to play your Fox exclusively on those 4 stages if we play in tournament :).
I'll just twostock your Meta Knight in the first round again and win the set. :)

Ohsnapz, son. But seriously, I'm not about to swap to Fox on you at those stages. You don't play Dedede.

Btw, is there going to be teams here?

LOLOLOLOLOL ultimate contradiction! Don't go tell Inui that you can beat people that have beaten him, then turn around saying he is using Inui Logic. Inui is basing that he can beat you off his results in tourney (which are good). You're basing it off of. . . beating people that have beaten him at one point? Ultima Scout Logic may soon replace Inui Logic.

It wasn't :). He did nothing special, I just sucked so bad I couldn't shield cancel --> dash attack and instead my shield stayed up and it was on a stage that should be banned because random events should never decide tournament events. Of course, Lucas thinks stages where you can deal with the gayness are more fair than stages where a random event can cost you a stock, so obviously he would say ridiculous nonsense like I'd be mad embarrassed that he did sidestep dsmash 5x in a row.

I asked about teams earlier, too.

I need to make up for my last pathetic performance with teh_spamerer and take 1st instead of 3rd. Don't want to let him down again.

We're at just about one month out from EYI. LK told me today after some labbing sessions Corneria has been added to the banned list (rules have been updated).

Make sure you rep strong for this first one.

And make sure you PREREGISTER. We can only guarantee 40 seats for Brawl, we're in a small room and you guys will be sharing floor space with Guitar Hero & Halo players. We'll be giving priority to preregistered players, any walk-up randoms on game-day run the risk of not playing.

Thanks to everybody who's helping us out with hardware.
