I usually like the voice acting of whatever the original language is. English dubs of Japanese shows are usually **** because they strain to sound like their Japanese counterparts (aka voices high as ****) instead of modifying the character's voice to better fit the actors' vocal range.

I think the only decent dub I've heard was Princess Tutu. Except Mytho.... I know he was supposed to have no emotions, but goddamn, they made him sound utterly dead inside.

I generally like the original voice work better than the dub. However there are a couple of Mexican dubs I like better than the originals or the English dubs.

EDIT: In case you're wondering Castillian (Spain) and South American Spanish dubs are hilariously bad.

when it comes to language, i prefer to watch in English but the Japanese VAs are much more skilled. I think its because being a good VA in Japan gets you a lot of fame/money (especially for women), so there are more people wanting to be a VA. Women get to become idols and I think singing is even a requirement for VAs in Japan. In America... the VAs don't really get fame... I remember one from an Anime i watched was an American Idol finalist though :o

I've grown to not like how overly cute some anime characters get and that's amplified with Japanese VAs too.

I just like whatever it's well-done.
It just happens that most Japanese jobs excel at being well-done whatever they are, and dubbing is no exception.

Mexican dub used to be beast, but after some drama with the Simpsons/Family Guy casts (that I may or may not explain later) it went downhill, people retired, people who didn't got divided, companies made whatever they wanted even with low quality...

US dub used to be bad, but lately they've been doing some good jobs, like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, that one dub was amazing.
