I don't know why I didn't make a thread about this sooner, considering how much everyone here clearly adores me. I've decided to start a webcomic, using poorly editted FF2 sprites (so far mostly Thief, his sprite is the most 'regular', so, its most useful for regular people). Its name is Master Blast, and you can find it on my blog at www.bulletpunch.com. I made the third one today, so, feel free to take a look. Its pretty terrible, so I won't blame you for hating it.

are we allowed to talk about bad resolution, and the importance of being able to read text in a web comic?

I think you may need to get your eyes checked, then.

EDIT: I decided to check how far away the most recent one was readable from my desk, and I could get quite far before I couldn't make out the letters. Are you sure you're genuinely having a problem with readability?

I dunno, I haven't got any complaints about readability yet and Hobobloke has actual eye problems. Maybe something with your monitor?

i find the text of the comics slightly hard to read too. i mean it's certainly legible, but it could be better

nothing personal, just trying to help out. i think i'd find them more amusing if i had actually played the games they were from haha

I don't have great vision, and I could read it just fine without my glasses on. Pretty sure Luke's just stirring the pot. That being said, the typography could be (a lot) better. But if we're talking only about readability then you're good.

if you're the one that wrote the text its kinda easier to make it out if you already know what its supposed to say.

I do think that even though these are done in a lazy style, a little work on letterform and readability in your text would do you well.

Also if you actually want critique (you probably don't... so i'm sorry i guess)
With the backgrounds, even though you keep the background the same in every slide, if the characters are moving or the camera is shifting to the left and right, but only the characters are moving in the panel not the background, then what this does is, at first glance make it look like you're just moving characters around at random. This is most apparent in the comic with Arakune or whatever (i've forgot his name) the black thing made of bugs.

Now im not sure if you can do that, since ur backgrounds arent made by you, but perhaps you could crop it differently in each slide to show this, or not use the whole image in the first slide so later u can crop a different section to show the camera is now to the right etc.

Its actually a very small portion of Guile stage being used in that first comic, maybe a quarter of it, so I probably could've done that. Keep in mind the first one was made in July in about 15 minutes total at 3am.

Good that you can take advice on board.
If you ever decide to apply it, show me the comic :)

I don't think enough people care to warrant me going back and changing that one, especially since I don't have the original anymore. It was lost when my hard drive died, so I'd have to redo all the layers, etc. But I'll try and work it in to any comics where it would be a problem from now on.
