Gah, I thought Ziodyne had enough invincibility to beat gold burst. Might've done it too early. :( GGs.

You definitely can beat me a ton if you didn't twitch on bursts so much. lol

I think I watched you last night actually block and do things somewhat properly and then proceed to confirm absolutely nothing.

I haven't been able to confirm anything all week. Not to make excuses, but to give an example my upload speed somehow dropped to 90.5kb tonight and others were experiencing lag last night as well, so there is at least something to be said for that.

Oh that's actually kinda cool. I thought he wasn't doing those anymore for some reason. Don't ask why, because really I have no reason other than "I just somehow thought he did".

I was the Kanji beating the Yukiko. I can't believe you'd disgrace me by saying I'd lose to a Kanji as Yukiko. :V

I also thought the Kanji was you too, lol.

I haven't played you in a while though so I dunno your Kanji anymore. I do know that you end with 236A with Yukiko a lot from before, so that's where I assumed :[

I do like 236[A] ender but that's kind of stupid to pull against Kanji.

Internet excuses aside, wouldn't this indicate that you actually need to work on hitconfirming rather than comboing? How well do you know your combos, and can you do them in training mode consistently? If that's the case, then you need to work on confirming the hits you get.

Right, I actually agree with you on that one, as unexpected or bizarre as that may sound. I remember something a bit back before P4A came out, or before we all got into it where I think you and Minato mentioned how knowing a bunch of combos isn't all that helpful if you can't figure out ways to work into those combos or what you can combo off of.

And also, I'll be going to the first attempt at a tourney my scene's hosting since 2011 for this afternoon. If any of you guys want to check out the stream, and go to http://www.twitch.tv/krackatoa then feel free and they'd appreciate the viewers.

Honestly, one of the best ways to get a feel for hit confirming and other mechanics in the game is just to face the computer in training mode. I suggest you try it, Livewire, since it helped me not guess in other games. And if the CPU mashes DP, just deal with it. It's not that different from what players here and online do anyway lol

And good luck, Livewire. I'll be watching during my studying breaks.

Anyone up for some P4U or preferably Darkstalkers right now? I have an hour or so to spare before studying again.

GG's Minato.

VS is fun, and a nice change from Arcsys games. My execution is terrible in it though, and executing an air dash feels strange.
I'm trying to use Q-Bee's command grab, but I'm never in the right spot. That thing is ridiculous though, 2 frame start up and if I miss I just use 5MP.

Yeah, it's pretty good and got me sometimes. It's a good option select since if I jump, 5MP hits me, if I throw you, you'll input throw to tech.

The overall tourney was a lot more of a success than anybody was expecting, I'm glad to report. We thought we'd get maybe 30 people total, and we wound up more than doubling that with at least 65, and at least 20 entered in P4A with like 12 for Blazblue. There was an entire group of Tekken players that brought their own equipment and like 17-18 people showed up for Melee. It was actually funny since the room apparently had a max capacity of 60 people and there were so many setups and stuff that Krackatoa was worried setting up the stream would blow a fuse (since another event, Battle Royale, blew with less) and opted not to push it and see how things ran, though he did do some raw captures he said.

I didn't make it quite as far as I'd wanted but since in P4A the guy that beat me wound up making Grand Finals, and that in Blazblue I wound up losing to a Bang player from Montreal (that has always beaten me whenever we play), I don't really feel that bad. Heck, I even entered TTT2 and got to play some nice matches of that, and got to play a few KOFXIII casuals.

Wait, the P4A was single elim?
Oh, no it was double elim. I forget who knocked me out a bit later in Blazblue, but he was some Jin and I was like "wtf, I NEVER run into Jins in Extend" and got confused. I got knocked out in P4A by some Akihiko player in (I THINK, it might have been later) Loser's Quarters that wound up making Loser's Finals, so while it sucked to not win, it certainly could've been worse and I'm really glad that it exceeded our expectations and I didn't bomb at trying to get the Melee people to come out, lol.

It might've been because you were in Fear lol. All moves become fatals, which means you can't tech regular throws. Her regular throw, 5D, and her DP (when she has a certain amount of SP) all put you in Fear.

Improvements I'd say are focus on learning oki a bit more. If I manage to block it, I'm generally able to start my blockstring. With Labrys, I'll do 5A and then IAD for a mixup. If I just want to build axe meter, I just do 5AA (spear hits) and then another blockstring. Some people can mash DP, so you have to be careful. Try to maybe use meter more for mixups. OMCing the first hit of guillotine axe and going low is really hard to block. If they block it, you get more axe meter. Also on blockstrings, 5AA is good since you end up +1, so go for a throw or a 2A.

I guess overall, just try to experiment with more meter on offense instead of saving it for defense and see how that goes. Your fundamentals are pretty good, just be careful on mashing 2A or throw on wakeup or even as an oki too much. It's basically all about keeping that momentum. If characters like Yu, Chie, Yosuke, and Akihiko get that first hit, she's kinda done.

Cool, thanks for the tips. Next time we play I'd like to do some Labrys dittos if you're up for it. And yeah, I think I was in Fear so I guess I'll hold game 19 too lol.

The ironic thing about ranked netplay is that it's the only place that I believe my win/loss ratio for any character is positive, but I'm pretty sure it's where I got a lot of bad habits from.

I think I need to play Ranked to get rid of my red name. I really don't want to anymore. :|
I just play random characters whenever I do anyways.

Maybe I have the bug though, because I just haven't been able to get rid of it, and I don't think my bad connection days were that bad.
Too bad I can never tell because I don't think the number or percentage of disconnects is listed anywhere.

I'm okay with Ranked as long as it's not against people from Japan or people with worse connection quality than Japan.
