That's actually one of the things I'm least salty about. What bugs me more is mistiming meaties and getting 2A/5A'ed on their wakeup or missing my safe jump timing and getting DPed for it in SF4. Same goes for losing to slow highs like All out Attacks/Dust or Greed Sever. Getting thrown when I know I throw teched is slightly annoying too.

Even though all this stuff makes me salty, luckily I still learn from online matches.

You mean when your first thought after winning is like "freaking showed you" or "about f---ing time"? That sorta thing?
More like "I hate this game (for all the reasons Minato listed and more), why the hell am I playing it?" I don't know, I've been in a SF4 mood lately though that I can't explain. Deep down, I'm a rageaholic, and I need to constantly stoke the fires of my righteous fury, so I play SF4.

It's weird because my fighting game cravings have like...gone into a cycle so I have more of a Persona urge than a SFIV urge. Though obviously TT2 is the current one, but still.

That sounds like a horrible and unsportsmanly thing to do XD

I do my best to never think that way. It inhibits my ability to learn and play better. I do think of it, tbh, but I just shrug it off. In my games I don't aim to win, because I can already see that I am not experienced enough to do so.

Well yeah, I mean I don't get THAT bad and only do the "about f---ing time" mindset thing if the person's being an irritating troll type that's just trying to talk trash for the sake of it. Other than that, nah, I get more frustrated and disappointed than I do flat out mad.

I pretty much only get upset when someone isn't learning.

Hm...why do I suspect I should take the subtle hint in that? And why do I find it oddly amusing that it pops up after I just finished the most frustrating TT2 ranked session ever in which I went like 0-6 or 0-7 and actually started to get a headache and stomach-ache from it? But if you weren't referring to anybody in particular and it was a general statement, ignore that.

After 6 or 7 matches I hope you realized what went wrong in those matches afterwards.

I'm always fighting Minato here more than anyone else for whatever reason, so I'm always having massive losing streaks, like 0-20s.

It can feel like I'm not learning things. Hell I sometimes do notice mistakes but don't always fix them, or it takes me a while to fix them, I may be acting before thinking too much or something. :054:

Oh well, happy new year everyone, here's hoping it's a good one for everyone.
And maybe I could get better at fighting games. I have about one more week of vacation so I'll try to fit in some games, any Arcsys game would be good.

Happy New Years everyone, I hope to play you guys in a lot more p4a in the future :D

I'm sure if I went back and looked over them now I would be able to. At the time they happened I was unfortunately just frustrated and thinking things were BS. C'est la vie, it's about your ability to keep a cool head.

And happy new year's everybody!

If it's any consolation guys, seeing what you did wrong and seeing what you can do to consistently win against an opponent are different on the difficulty scale.
I'm usually able to see what I did that got me killed (bad DPs/bursts, mashing on a frame trap, etc) but I'll have a harder time figuring out how to overwhelm the opponent. If I'm able to at least fix bad habits after a match, I feel like I've succeeded.

I'm trying to get better on adapting faster though. I've noticed that it's the norm for me to lose the first few matches and then gain a steady lead afterwards in a lobby.

I'm getting a lot better at noticing things in-game now, heh. I also have a lot of fun just playing you guys too.

Persona really helped me as an entry to the fighting game scene. It affects the way I play Melee and other fighters now. It's been a while since I've played BB, but I can tell that the way I'm going to play CP is going to be very different than two years ago.

Yeah, that's one thing that Persona 4 Arena and Mortal Kombat 9 have is that they're both good "gateway fighters" in the sense that MK9 attracts casuals who just like seeing the cool fatalities and gets them into it, and P4A attracts people who played the RPG series and all that, if that makes sense.

You know this tourney stuff has me thinking with the EVO lineup announcement likely being soon, but any of you guys have any thoughts on whether you think P4A's got a shot at getting in? I mean, I already have my suspected 5 game lineup in my head, but just thought I'd ask.

P4A should be in since it's being sponsored by Atlus isn't it?

I don't know if it is, but people were saying the past few tournaments P4A's had an insane amount of entrants. But if that's true, it also bodes well for KOXIII and would support my lineup prediction of AE2012/UMVC3/TTT2/KOFXIII/P4A for it. But gonna be conflicted as hell if it came down to those two for a spot.

I think I'll play.

Take a break from God Hand.

I don't know when you all will be playing though, guess I'll turn on my PS3 for now, send an invite if I'm still on. I think I'll play GG for now.

We haven't set anything up yet, I don't really have a particular time I had in mind.

Maybe half hour from now or so?

Rutger, whenever you and Minato are done with GG I'm online.

In case you guys want to play p4

EDIT: If anyone else wants in lemme or Minato, Sakurazaki, Rutger know.

I set it to 5 people (So waits aren't a decade) so there is only one spot left.

GGs everyone.

I'm glad I finally started to get the hang of things towards the end, I will try to play more often.

Both Minato and Teczero were pulling off some crossups/mixups that I haven't seen before, you both had me working hard to get anywhere.

Tec your SLab's improved a bunch, much quicker with the actions and some fairly good pressure mixups
Jam you didn't want to Yukiko mirror? :(

GGs everybody, after playing SF4 for so long it was good to play something that isn't so frustratingly boxed up.

Also, sorry about that last match, I just don't like playing dittos.

I would've done one more match, but my family's pretty much sleeping right now.
Maybe tomorrow or later this week, I played more than usual today so I'm kind of tired.

Even though that was to Aisight, sorry about that. I've been trying to use Labrys as much as I can, kind of like when I was learning Yosuke and then Chie.
I'm going to try learning a new character for lobbies again anyways.

Nah man, play who you want, my hangup isn't your problem. I was actually having fun with Yukiko.

Dittos are just weird and not fun to me. I feel like I can never implement my gameplan the way I want since my opponent is essentially trying to do the same thing.

GGs everyone.

Thanks Ankoku, ugh Kanji hits so hard >_> my glass HP can't handle it.

Jam - for next time I suppose.

Rutger - It was fun playing you, hope you're around more often. We don't get to play against Yosukes as often and I need to figure out that match up more.

Mina-chi -

Stop kicking me.

I don't think I can face Aisight's Kanji with any of my subs yet. Maybe Liz, but that's about it.

I kind of understand. It's probably why I'll try to get on the offensive and get that oki as fast as I can, just so I can play things like I normally do. But I guess I'm more tolerant of mirror matches. Except for like every mirror in SF4 that isn't Ryu vs Ryu. The only bright side in these matches is I'll at least know what's punishable with what I suppose.
