lol cool

Also Vinnie why don't you ever bucket stall? Is it not viable at top level play? Seems to me like using it to mixup recoverys would work. Or avoid frametraps/landings sorta how Fox does with his reflector

Good stuff, though, I enjoyed those matches, learned some stuff
Bucket stall(for mixup recoveries) is kind of risky against high level MK players. If they know you're going to do it they can pretty much go down and hit you with a number of things lol. Or they can simple regrab the ledge since MK is good at that:awesome:.
Though there is a certain distance you can do it where even MK can't reach you in time, the spacing is tricky can't really explain it. Experiment and stuff.

It's pretty safe against most of the roster though.

Makes sense. I know they can just wait it out or regrab the ledge but I wasn't sure if that mattered since it's a mixup.

But thanks for answering.

I still do not understand how you guy get around Ftilt. It's what gives me the most trouble.

I actually study Vinnie's vids specifically for this and I think I see it sometimes but at the same time I just can't replicate it.

I pretty sure thats the main reason MK shouts down our ground game.

Dtilt is bad too but him having both Dtilt and Ftilt and using them for the same basic purpose is what makes it particularly **** against us.

although keep in mind all 3 hits are punishable on shield

like if he uses all 3, not each individually

You guys should practice reverse jump canceled Usmash with Gdubs if you havent yet

It's actually pretty easy and looks really swag

I was surprised it only took me like 7 minutes to do somewhat consistently and i'm not even trying that hard right now

Yeah I know that's why I started doing it.

@the guys who asked it's doing a sliding usmash backwards essentially

If you've ever watched good ikes, play they do it all the time

just run then do a backwards jump and start charging usmash (or dont charge it) before any animation starts

you run at the opponent with a backwards Usmash which is pretty cool considering the way our usmash hitbox is, it'll give you a bit more range it seems like

G&W in wifi dubz is low 'A' tier, IMO. He gets a huge boost; I feel a little cheap using him in those.

Qs
If DDD has the lead, how can G&W approach him? G&W feels out-classed when behind; DDD can roll backward and grab, inhale, multi-jump Bair wall and he has better reach with Ftilt etc. DDD also out spams G&W. If I'm not behind too far it's different but when DDD (and several characters) know G&W must approach they counter me easily and I get further behind :( .

Pit's Uair beats G&W's Dair right? G&W has better anti-planking tools than most characters, bucket, Dtilt, great intercepting game, chef. Some plankers are still a pain though, MK, Yoshi, Pit, etc. What are some good planking stopping strategies, when G&W must approach and can't bucket?

G&W in wifidubz is low A tier? He is already toptier doubles character offline so I would say he is top 3 in wifi where he only receives buffs.

G&W is possibly the best teams character, I'd say he rivals MK in his usefulness.
Against D3 just play like you would if it were at even percents and you're trying to get a lead. If you chip away at it in that way eventually it will actually be even. Bair across the top of his shield, spacing nair so you're above his ftilt range and just the little fish comes down to hit him, and airdodge past him into grab are all useful.

IDK doubles tiers. I figured he might be under MK, Wario and maybe Diddy/Snake/a few others (because he's light and can't stock tank as well) but I can see G&W rivaling MK.

Thanks for the DDD tips. DDD gives me trouble because I fish for obvious hits when worried that he can KO then outlast me. His Utilt is a fast move for its power :/ .

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here. GaW is definitely a top3 doubles character, probably 2nd best, but MK is still a whole tier and a half better than him in doubles.
