Thing is, if the person cares enough they can bring it up with the TO and force you to change colors

I just never do it because:

A) i don't wanna lose track of myself
B) I don't care enough, I have enough faith in my own stupid gimmicks
C) Black Gdubs is ****

It's like what gdubs reps IMO. Simple, basic, black before we had colors and 3d or whatever. but in teams there's an obvious necessity for color so all those colors I think are okay. But mustard and cyan... can disintegrate in a kamehameha wave

Bowser has good punishes and grab tactics once he gets in. I wish Link's ground spin attack worked more like Bowser's UpB; except all hits would launch away but it would be multi-hit and slide a bit if directed :( . I always used to, and often still do in my head, call Bowser 'Koopa' and Ganondorf 'Gannon'.

Technically, the 'whirling blade technique' requires a sword charge, 'quick spins' started in Ocarina of Time and are instant (making charged spins pointless) so Link simply started having Spin Attacks in 3D Zeldas and SSBs until Brawl nerfed it. 1st appearing in ALttP/4 Swords for the GBA, Link could learn the secret 'Hurricane Spin' (IIRC) that let him charge extra but move while spinning.
The secret 4 Sword dungeon was fun but the bouncer was annoying.

Tonight I realized that I am supposed to play :gw:.

I'm here to stay.

And before anyone asks, "What happened?"...its not about what happened but more about what I realized today.

Now...its time to start making magic.

Just a personal realization that involves a lot of complicated factors. The short version is:

I realized my greatest strength period is seeing what isn't easily seen.

She scares me.

Not sure what superfluous means.

Basically, double jump (from offstage to onstage), b reverse off the ledge, sink low, then use your double jump to jump nair (below the ledge), and you won't get edgehogged or hit when an opponent spawns.
I'm going to request a video so I can wrap my head around this some more.

Guys: Descending nair into footstool into fair lock into smash is sexy

Edit: Someone please send me a video of G&W locking/infiniting diddy kong with the banana

Too lazy to fully help you out gardex but I think it's in this corner of youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ggu5QAfn0M

Just got back from phoenix comic-con. Had lots of fun. Took 1st in smash. it was a convention tourney =/ but there were 5 players from the scene there. We all took the top spots. People rode my **** because GW players are fun to watch (I guess) and some remembered me from last year where I got 3rd (one guy is a little bit of a fanboy of mine it's pretty funny, good kid though.)

trophy is sooo sick, it's a red see-through NES cart that says like first place and **** like that on it. I'll post pics later, It was a random game (I got track and field, soooo legit)

Prize was some random nerd **** that I gave away to random people at the convention + my friends, the nes cart was all I wanted.

Also found another GW user for AZ... I swear all these GWs... He has loads of potential from what I can see. Told him to make an account, maybe we'll have 4 AZ GWs posting here...

MaxFalcon/BrokenPixel, And just Wolfwood I guess now that I think about it. I don't think you've met him but he's a Kirby/IC user (Both of his are respectable and pretty good. His ICs leveled up pretty hard since last year). He won last year.

I never dropped a set so I never had to play Rave this year. But Wolfwood beat Rave so I replayed him in grands. I Won 3-1 in grands and it's actually pretty hilarious now that I think about it.

Ok like the circumstances are because of all of the terrible brawl kids complaining about how cheap platforms are (it's a convention tourney mind you) the hosts AZHP Gaming made FD the only legal stage to shut them up. But the problem was that Wolfwood uses ICs, and they announced MK as banned. So I'm like... aww man. Because I will have to face wolfwood's ICs on FD no matter what (he kept saying how dumb the rule was but he was full of bull**** because last year when the smashers played we played by normal smash rules and followed the convention rules against everyone else. Well like yeah I TOTALLY lie to him really hard it's so funny. I basically told him that my ICs are ridiculously **** at the IC ditto matchup because I play Tommy in them all the time so that I don't get CG'd as GW. I told him he could test it but there was no way he'd win because i've never lost an IC ditto

lmao

So yeah I said that all outta my *** midway through the tourney when i noticed he was infiniting all the noobs and when we played in Winners and Grands he never once used them LOL

So I played his Kirby which was pretty mentally straining because he's just as gimmicky of a player as I am. In Grands I lost the first match to a 2 stock, it was the first match that didn't go to last hit and I was like: dude, **** this i am NOT playing another set. So I started losing the second match in grands and not only made a comeback but tried to do it rather stylishly to shake him up because he was playing too confident and REALLY well. I changed my style up enough to pull off the comeback. Now like, the crowd watching is consisting of my friends + tons of lower level players. They play very "honorably" and hate wolfwood. He wins by CGs and kirbycides and stuff and makes them all salty and is "cheap" etc etc

So like the entire crowd was on my side, so after I make the comeback my friends + the crowd start talking sooooo much **** it's hilarious. My friend LeROY was telling me after I got a 3 in a row tech chase on wolfwood, he yelled: HOW ARE YOU FALLING FOR THAT YOU ARE SOOO BAD, and wolfwood kept looking up into the crowd like: "Who the **** is saying that?!"

XD

dude, once he got shaken up I noticed how scared he was playing and went full flashy smiley mode on him because i'm thinking the more i make him look stupid the madder and more sloppy he'll get. It worked REALLY well, I Up-B'd him 4 times in a row and he got sooo mad, and I footstool'd him and ran away, and I got a 2 hammer tech chase into another tech chase and it was just cake after he basically mentally gave up.

So yeah, I basically exploited his weaknesses as a player more than anything. Rave went sooooo hard, but lost to his gimmicks.

That's the most amazing story I ever heard, all to get a NES cart thing. But yeah, I haven't played Wolfwood, but I am realizing how bad my luck in.. everything is.

Like.. seriously, I have the worst luck of everyone I know (at least in videogames)

It's so funny, thinking about it now. I am the better player though, no offense, to him, I just don't really know the kirby matchup at all. Kirby roll and grab is SOOOOO fast too, wtf. Like these were things I already knew but it was really messing me up. Even when I read the rolls (which was actually pretty hard because he rolled pretty intelligently) I couldn't get the punish because of kirby's fast grab. Also he was mixing up Dairs into Fsmash/grab. He was mostly air camping me with bair too. So i didn't really get any shieldgrabs they were all hard reads of some sort.

But yeah he was playing pretty smart, and we were actively trying to embarrass each other so it was kinda straining because neither player wants to look stupid and we were doing some pretty stupid things to each other. I saved dthrow>fsmash for late grands though, because I didn't want him to know it was possible before I needed it. Definitely helped, because when he was nervous he had a really hard time teching it.

Could you rephrase your last paragraph, you go from his dsmash to yours (I think) and then you said you were trying to tech something, but what does Kirby have that needs teching?

Meant to say he. yeah dthrow>fsmash works on kirby when he doesn't tech, that's what I was referring to. Sorry my fault.

I better get really **** at the IC ditto now, just in case he reads this. I've got another year to practice though :troll:

That makes sense, Who does the dthrow>fsmash work on? I know Kirby and Jigglypuff, but who else?

And just main snake instead, much easier than IC ditto

Good job Smiley. I told this guy that I work with to say hi to the Brawlers at Comic con, did he come by?

So are you guys ready for the tourney this weekend? We're having a lot of really great players coming from out of state. It's pretty crazy.

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=322064#

^Shows the list of people if you scroll down. There are several players that are ranked in other states that are coming.

I was supposed to practice with Saffy, Bryce and Tyrant today....but that didn't end up happening, of course. Just like every other time Mesa/Gilbert has tried to have a smashfest. I wish I lived near Pheonix so I could make those Smashfests.

Edit: I want to play Z, I think I could beat him, I'm pretty beast at the Pikachu Matchup.

I doubt I'll be able to make it.. :(

And it sucks because I got so much better since last time you were there. I got to game 3 against K9's MK, which ended up beating me last hit (and my ****ty luck struck again), and then beating Kira shortly after, last hit too. I beat my first PR person as well (GV7)

It's really cool to see myself getting better in such a short time.

I want yo have someone live within 10 miles of me :/ but it's summer so I can do more now.

If you beat Z you will go to the top 5 gnw list in North America, no joke, I see people use that as the only justification to get on there.

Well Z is a great player, so it makes sense sorta. Though honestly I don't think I would deserve it just for that. I mean, I don't really know any other matchups....just Pikachu. Maybe once I get some actual practice in.

I just see it on the top 5 thread so often. I dont think anyone is serious about it now, but it was a trend for a bit.

I love it how you guys organize tournaments. And by "you guys", I mean people in North America and Europe. You have an abundant number people, people who actually know how to play and people who actually KNOW about the game (reguarding MUs, weaknesses of characters).

Kirby is broken if you don't know the MU.
Indeed. He's a tricky little *******. Our 5th ranked player just took a tourney with Kirby (Then again, he's really good and underrated)

But yeah, are you sure you're as good as at the matchup as you think? Not saying you aren't but who's Pika have you really played? I don't think Pika does as bad against GW as you do, but we'll see maybe you can prove me wrong. It's just that Pika is good and GW isn't, and I feel that the limitations of the character make him not really **** anybody per se.

I just wouldn't want you to underestimate the character, and be surprised

But yeah I plan to play Z, too, because he's going around using my name

Not really sure how good I am at the matchup, but I guess we'll see.

I think G&W is even against every character, but ICs and Snake

ICs cheat and use two characters

Snake isnt a real character

Therfore, G&W is even against every character

:yeahboi:

...You mean a happyface tag? xd
But yeah, I know how that feels. Usually, n00bs would do that in tournaments if we accidentally leave our names there. Seeing a Link that spams Up-B with my name...urgh.

Even really favorable MUs can be a royal pain if they know what to do and you don't. I found that once I picked up Wolf and G&W (and actually had good MUs) then played good Falcon/Samus and Jiggz/Zelda, respectively.
Learning several characters helps your overall game but it is hard to juggle the different MUs with different characters. To learn a character you must learn all their MUs (and stage picks/bans) too- that's a lot. With PT I had to learn MUs with all 3 pokemon.

What's strange is I sometimes do great with several characters I play but suck out loud with one. It isn't the same one every time either.
Seeing a Link that spams Up-B peroid...urgh.

Marth is so much more manageable than our other bad MUs. I'm not even afraid of that MU.

Juggling4lyfe

Also I think I'm gonna go all :gw: at that tournament I was telling you about. Gonna need the practice for PS4 since **** just got real in the past 24 hours.

Also I was playing around with him today and I'm reaching that point with him where his movements and feel of the character feels....natural. Its honestly super fun playing a character with the exact opposite feel of D3 but relies on the same traits to win. I can't wait to unleash him at my regional.

Its gonna be even better that my boy Patches will be there.
