Doubles tournament on sunday. Me and my partner are the defending champs here at my college, but we have only played melee for the past few months. So the game plan is I hide and tank stock while he ***** with MK. I'm gonna be so bad lol.

HOLY ****, bro classic mode is so rage-worthy it's ridiculous. I'm fighting ****ing lucario. My partner is ivysaur (seriously?), it's a giant lucario, that grabbed a fan so now the fan is giant, it keeps spamming jab infinite into Uptilt, he is giant so he NEVER dies which = retardedly strong and huuuuugge hitboxes, his dodge roll is even more broken when giant, and the stage just became flying type so gravity is lowered...

And I decided to use game&watch, **** this game

edit: jesus christ now he has a GIANT beamsword...

double edit: he just broke the smashball because he's so big he just spams a random move and eradicates it. I'm about to get aura storm'd because the gravity wont let me move as fluidly as I want to.

triple edit: HOLLL<YYY ****TTTTT it's ****ing giant too, i didnt know that happened...

quadruple edit: yeah it was impossible to dodge, and it was so big DI'ing out of it was.... not practical....or possible.

Played ICs today. Almost won. Went First match MK and won got grabbed twice though. Second match went Peach so he went Falcon (He plays Kyle all the time) and he won (don't laugh.) Last match, I just decided to go GW. He begged me not to, because he said he'd feel guilty but I told him it was just a matchup and I needed to use my character even if the going gets tough if I want to improve. Game was close, I had 2 stocks to his one and was playing super patiently but I got grabbed last stock when I had a good lead.

It was a learning experience, though.

Aww that sucks.

I actually like pocket MKs because they feel easier than that person's real character usually. GW is a very specific Matchup for MK and pocket MKs usually don't know how to work it since we're harder to edgeguard and punish their moves better than a lot of characters.

Zac was really slippery when he beat me (tons of up-b's, lots of jabs, he would read my roll/getup attack by looking at my controller, and he was extremely gimmicky offstage/on the ledge).

In Loser's finals he lost because I up-smashed his obvious dairs five times within three games, killing him every single time. I also sat behind him and played extremely patient. Hit and run kind of stuff, instead of typical run in and play aggro Illmatic.

You have no idea how powerful looking at someone's controller during G&W dthrow really is. It works everytime, except on Neon (only person to learn secret).

One of my favorite combos to pull is the falling up - air into a u-tilt.
If timed right you can hit with both the u-air hits and then smack em up with a u-tilt.

I was on a dry spell for nines, but I got two tonight. :-D

That kinda Marth, I still haven't figured out yet. Don't Up-B. Nair from below a lot. Don't get stuck on the ledge. Save Fair for KOs since it's the most reliable KO move and our fairs trade. Full dancing blades are smash punishable. If he knows this (or learns it) never expect him to finish. I basically guess the amount of hits he's gonna do and try to interrupt. Bait dolphin slashes for BIG punishes.

DON'T forget about counter. It's really good because all our moves are commitments. It's actually pretty effective on GW.

And MK Ban hurt us IMO. The MK Ban scare rose the amount of Marths (by a lot) ICs, Falcos, Snakes etc etc

Even in my state where we kept him legal, we adopted the japanese ruleset so now I've lost RC and Brinstar

Edit: Also Vinnie doesn't use GW, or help other GW mains, or even exist and then wonders why people ride Zac's ****. It's because he actually mains GW. Everybody knows you're good, but you're not a GW main, you don't even use him on RC anymore. I don't blame you but you're not a GW. You just use a lot of characters and it happens he's one of your better ones, nowadays.

I really don't know what to tell you. I've played against mikehaze a few times, he deeply understands the matchups. It's really hard to do anything... i mean... REALLY HARD. All I got for you is, if you notice he's punishing you for something you're doing, stop doing that. It's hard to break a habit, but marth is a weird matchup and you have to adjust.

Smashachusetts this weekend is MK banned, and I'm teaming with Ally, so I'll probably go mostly/all in doubles. In singles, I feel like I might be able to win with , but I'll make it a point to also use . Was it not obvious that I still use when I used him several times vs Ally in the $100 mm at APEX? >_>
