I find it curious how the competitive (those of us that have entered tournaments, if you've entered a tourney and did my survey then I'm SORRY BUT I DIDN'T KNOW) Pac mains are all sensing.

Maybe intuition can only get you so far ;). Get on the S tier Pac bros :p
Pfft. Where would you get all your crazy tech from?

I'll go to a tourney...eventually (sad because I live about 30 min from one)

You can overbuff a character, you know, and giving Pac more power in his fruit kind of makes up for his smash attacks. This is how I feel about it. Having an unstaleable kill move with a wonky trajectory is priceless for a character and may be too overwhelming. I feel like Pac is in a fairly good spot at the moment in terms of balance and design. His winning MUs are far from overwhelming (I've heard Mac is bad but it hasn't been in my experience, Mac has the tools to punish us for playing too safely) and his losing ones with careful balance adjustment can be made very bearable.

Interested to see what everyone else thinks though.
The Mac MU is interesting for sure. While Pac-Man has an obvious advantage in range, stage control, and projectiles, Mac does rushdown extremely well which can be a hassle, as Pac-Man hates rushdown. He punishes mistakes and laggy moves VERY well. You don't know what pain is until you whiff a grab against a Mac with KO Punch.

Pac can't be too campy. Mac has tools to get around it and he can get hydrants with practically any move. Trampoline is a huge issue for him, though. It's a obstacle that forces him in the air - one place he doesn't want to be. He either goes over it, goes on it, or has to wait it out, and all of these situations are undesirable.

I play a aggressive Pac with my projectiles and stage control. A more defensive Pac may have more of an issue than I do, but the MU is for Pac-Man either way. Mac punishes well but he can't control the stage like Pac-Man can, and Pac-Man has lots of tools to get Mac off stage and keep him there.

If I wasn't on mobile this'd be better.

Give Mac 1% of damage, then put a trampoline on the stage.
Mac loses.
He can't ever manuever around it safely.
You don't even have to play against that character.
I improvise my combos.

My favourite one at the moment is DA > fruit toss > up b

Probably isn't a true combo but it certainly is a swag combo. That cannot be questioned.
Try grabbing the opponent while they are trapped inside of a lazy Galaxian loop. Pummel them, then down throw.

I pulled this off on nairo on stream and it did about 40%

Maining Pac-Man made the great Mac storm of 3DS For Glory much easier.

That's a really solid combo, I'll have to **** around with that sometime.

Kinda disagree with him not being able to maneuver it safely, he can side b over it if you don't space yourself properly. He can counter fruit for movement too. I've tried doing this and it's really not a legitimate strat against good Mac's. Having a crappy grab is also annoying because Mac's shield pressure goes up to fairly high levels simply because he can pepper your shield at a safe distance without risk of being punished. I'd say it's in our favour for sure just because trampoline can be such a problem for Mac but you're really overstating the effect it has on the MU.

Just going on my experience anyway.

Aussie no likey the customs

At least, there is one region but it's on the opposite side of the country so that's not really an option. I'm fine playing without and yolo-ing around as is.

He can side B...to his death if your trampoline is by the ledge.

I just don't feel that you have to fight him normally. We put his biggest weakness on the stage and just disrespect his ground game with it. Not to mention, @ Firedemon0 Firedemon0 confirmed that we can grab him OoS if he ftilts us

When Mac gets in, he can mess us up hard though. Problem is getting in, and then it's pretty easy to reset unless he KOs right then and there. When you do get knocked offstage, you're also free to air charge all you want since you know Mac's not coming out there. If he miss spaces anything, our up B should pull him out of his armor if he's using it, giving us a chance to reset. I'm pretty sure our Dair consistently beats his counter, so you can disrespect that too. Other than that, even though his smashes do massive shield damage and his tilts are usually safe on block, shielding is still pretty effective because his grab is below average. You may not be able to punish all of the time if you shield, but Mac has to stay right on top of you or else you set up again.

I think if Pac-Man had a perfect system of trampoline......plant hydrant......have first or second water spout shoot out right before the trampoline disappears -> use that as cover to replace the trampoline....repeat, he could time him out pretty easily. Charge up whatever fruit you want in the meantime.

I don't think anyone wants to do that though. It's not free for us, but certainly our favor.

I actually found a use for Dair in custom fights.
It might be able to hold opponent in On-Fire Hydrant range, and it's knockback leads into a Freaky Melon.

My 2 ENTP-cents.
Or place a trampoline next to the ledge and D-air over it as the opponent gets up.
If you are close enough to the trampoline, it will eventually turn red from the opponent's hurtbox touching it.

Then you can move away (since Dair has barely any suction) and laugh at the opponent as you deliver them a free inky.

Edit: this is with the meteor trampoline

We're doing MBTI tests? I remember I used to take an interest in it back in my high school days. Being able to categorize people into general groups was neat and let me know a little bit about how they are overall. Since then, I've changed quite a bit as a person and I don't consider the system as relevant as I did before. There's simply too much variation within people for the test to have true accuracy beyond the rather superficial realm. That being said, I'd tested as INTJ majority of the time and INTP on certain occasions.

So no surprise I got this result.

What does following someone do?

Also, is there a thread where I can post these random questions?

Following someone shows their recent activity on your newsfeed. It also makes them feel good about themselves.

I think the only "buffs" Pac should receive is fixing dead zones.
Agreed 100%. So long as no one gets super buffed, we are playing a top 10 character IMO; we don't need to/shouldn't get overbuffed.

Also wow, I missed some stuff in this thread.

Also Nooooooo! Don't touch his Dair. It's never going to be a great move anyway, so let me at least use weak hits or rising Dair to steal jumps and make people fall into red trampolines.

So I didn't go far at Ontario Smash. Only went Round 3 losers, bahhhh.

Of course, every cloud has a silver lining, and mine was big. Something @ Pacack Pacack might like.

I ordered the same package a few weeks ago and was surprised at how the box handled the two discs. I'd never seen a multi-disk GameCube case before that point.

There needs to be a Pac-Man-shaped Pac-Man game disc some day. I've seen CDs with funky shapes, but never video game disc software.

I also forgot to mention I bought a super old Super Pac-Man thing, it had a few stickers and scratch-off games. I might take a picture of it, it seemed super old.

It also had vintage stone-hard gum! I didn't eat it because I wanted to play Smash, not puke my guts out. I'm sure it's just RIPE from what, 20 years of sitting in packaging?

Maybe next time if someone pays me I'll buy another and eat the gum.
