So how have you been?
.. well, I'm just fine, .. I got fired... so yeah, now I have some free time until find another job. =P.. I thought that would be cool back and give K. Rool some support, since he was one of my 5 characters that didn't get in the game. ^^

I'd actually been a part of the site since 2008 then stopped using it after my interest in Brawl faded. I came back at the very end of August this year (using a more recent account that had 0 posts for 3 years) so unfortunately, I missed a good amount of the speculation that took place. I'd had fond memories of playing Pac-Man World/Pac-Man World 2 with my cousin when I was younger so Pac-Man in Smash was interesting though initially, I wasn't too phased. It's only when I really started playing the character that I fell in love with him all over again and went back to play old Pac-Man games (New Adventures is hilarious even today). Pokemon is still my primary favorite franchise and Mewtwo is the character I'd been waiting for for six years but all the same, I'm huge on Pac-Man too and have no intentions of dropping him even when my most anticipated character arrives next week. Games with him are generally so much fun since you can just freeball things and do what you want.

Admittedly, I haven't posted too much here recently but I do lurk quite a bit. I also appreciate the small community since it reinforces the bond between the members.

As for now, just taking things as they come and doing well for myself overall. I'm curious, what are you all interested in doing with your lives? I know @ Nu~ Nu~ has an interest in astronomical sciences. I do too (astrobiology) and I also have a huge interest in vertebrate paleontology. Curious about everyone else too. Casual discussion is always fun.
I hear you. I would just play casual brawl with my friend back in 2010 and we would just look up combo videos and advanced techniques to get better at the game. Ever since smash 4 speculation, I've gotten more and more interested in competitive smash.

Pokemon is my primary franchise as well, but I'm kinda bored of oras right now. I wish they actually brought the battle frontier back. Competitive battles are fun, but the meta right now is crazy lol. Just waiting for the next game (crosses fingers for gen 4 remake)

And hell yes, Astronomy is my baby and I have an equal love for Neuropsychology.

People are some of the most interesting aspects of this world. Studying the amazing phenomenon of the universe and the people that connect with it is just beautiful.

The last page or so brings me back to the casual discussion we Pac-Mains had back when maining Pac-Man was just a far-off dream.

I was always the one guy here who didn't grow up on Pac-Man World 2. I only had Pac-Man World on PS1. I finally got around to ordering the Pac-Man World 2/Pac-Man Vs. combo pack for GameCube a few weeks ago, so I've been playing that. Of course, I find myself playing as Pac-Man in Smash far more often. It's a nasty habit I've never been able to break. Smash has essentially diverted almost all of my attention away from other games for years now. I find it difficult to enjoy single-player games these days, since the social aspect of games is what makes them so fun for me. It's hard to find the motivation to complete a game like World 2 when all you want to do is play with your friends. So I turn on the Wii U and we play some more Smash.

I'm not a tournament player. I've played in tournaments, but it's not something I do regularly, and even then, it's been restricted to Project M. I follow the meta closely and I play with a hardcore mindset and playstyle (I use all of the ATs and I know about and implement the core fighting game philosophy concepts), but I just don't play in tournaments for the most part. I'd like to represent Pac-Man in my scene, but there are other things in my life I should be focusing on more urgently.

I agree with @ BSP BSP . Mega Man and Pac-Man have the two best design philosophies of all the newcomers. Coincidentally, the duo are also one of my favorite doubles teams and one of my favorite 1v1 MUs.

You're not the only guy. The only Pac-Man game I own is the Namco Coliseum with Galaga, Galaxian, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Pole Position, and Dig-Dug. Never played the Worlds.

I was enamored with the first Pac-Man World as a kid, but replaying the series lately has led me to believe that the games aren't as good as I thought they were. They're certainly not bad, but they're not masterpieces, either. I'd say they deserved to be recognized in Smash just as much as any of Sonic's poor performances. I wouldn't say you're missing much by having not played them. If you've played a 3D platformer, you've essentially played the Pac-Man World games. I'd recommend them if you're ever interested, especially if you like the Crash Bandicoot style of 3D platformer, but they're definitely not must-plays.

As far as I'm concerned, the Championship Edition games are what perfected the Pac-Man formula, or at least came the closest to doing so. I'd support a fourth World game if it tried as hard as possible to distance itself, mechanically and aesthetically, from Ghostly Adventures.

I love how our Pac-Community is so small, that it seems like we're having a little coffee house discussion :joyful:
And I'm that dude that always comes later.
I hate my timezone

You think you haven't played any Pac-Man games?
I only played the arcade app on my iPad.

I'm here for the free 8-bit fruit and you guys.

Man, looking through the older pages is something else. I can see 3DS Pac discussion.

I saw my old account, that was a flashback.

@ Nu~ Nu~ can tell me to eat my foot, because I said Meteor Trampoline was much better than default and that PPJ was bad.

EDIT:

You havin fun there, @ Pacack Pacack ?

I've basically only ever play the google doodle.

I'm here for the development of an underplayed character. Hopefully I can progress the meta in a meaningful way.

What timezone are you anyway?

Boss Galaxian is the kind of boss that I hate and love at the same time. Really, really difficult, but also really rewarding to beat.

Anubis Rex can rot in a deep, dark hole, though.
GOD **** ANUBIS REX

I read it As: all of my ****ing GLOVES

Woops…
Might as well have. That piece of garbage took a good chunk of my lives.

I had, like, 21 before Anubis Rex. 5 times. 5 times I lost to that ****** and got game overs.

People's reaction when they encounter a Pacman:

FG pac-men are cringe-worthy.
Just spam side B and dash attack. Totally unpunishable.
People using side-B on the ground, as an actual attack, literally make me want to tear my eyeballs out.

Even worse when they don't use it for recovery and rely on trampoline, in the middle of off-stage. Literally just asking to get punished.

I have a tenancy to spam dash attack, but that's because it's an okay move. It's a habit I'll break, I swear!

Hey! Let's make a list of everything we see Pac players do wrong on For Glory!

So far we have:
- SideB as an actual attack on the ground
- Random punishable dash attacks
- No SideB when recovering

I'll add:
- Key sniping from the other side of the stage
- Dairs (lol)
- Thinking we have Diddy's grab
- Dropping random hydrants that don't do anything

Help guys

I actually have the habit of using Side Special as an attack, and yes, on the ground. I know it's bad, but most people I've played against (like on For Glory) fall for it. It works, so I can't stop doing it.

Spamming Smashes, not realizing how slow they are.

Not using Nair at all, or any aerials.

Not using oven mitts

I'm guilty of a few of these, but the hydrant thing's not that awful.

It can be used as a hard hard punish if your opponent is at high enough percent and you're absolutely positive about a read or if a shield is broken.

Otherwise, I'd only use it as a recovery move or a projectile shield and baiter (when the pellet falls to the ground, some people want the health and do stupid things).

Galaxian plz

Pacack is right though. SideB has great kill potential so you can punish certain stuff with it, or make good reads. I almost never risk using it to attack be honest. However, it has diss potential, so never rule that out ;3 It's always funny to see someone get salty over a very risky move hitting.

You and me both.

Euuugh, I remember when I used to roll around and spam Smash attacks and fruit.
I was playing one of Australia's best last night online. I was using baller fruit strats and combos. I don't think I've ever used fruit better than last night. I would post some videos but my phone decided to not have enough storage even after deleting stuff so I won't be able to upload for some time.

DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO

Yeah, it's very strong, but it's risky as hell. Kind of like Warlock Punch or something similar.

It's **** on the ground but it's MUCH better for air snipes. Nothing more satisfying.

Aw, that blows.

I'm heading down to an Ontario Smash weekly on Friday - maybe if there's a stream you'll see me?

MeekSpeedy's at the top there, and he **** allllll over me last time we played. I have my Mario for a reason!

Falcon Punch syndrome ;D
We can dissrespect people since 64 thanks to Cap, and as time goes on, more and more characters can (hehe).

Also, quoting only part of a post on mobile with 3G is so ****ing difficult, geez.
