So I found some interesting things that may or may not be useful:

-Z-dropped Cherry leads immediately into a footstool or grab on hit. I am trying to figure out if we can Fast Fall into a Fair jablock off of this, because if we can this is kind of big.

-If you instant grab an item with Z and press A a little afterwards, you will instant throw that item. This is a known mechanic that's carried over from Brawl. What is new (Or at least I never heard of it in Brawl), is that if you press Z and A at the same time, instead of throwing the item, you will instantly grab and redrop the item.
The reason this is useful is because most of our items bounce up after hitting a shield. Doing this above someone who just blocked a Z-dropped item refreshes the Z-dropped item's hitbox, allowing it to pressure the shield again.

I don't think this is a block infinite (Although Apple and Melon have quite a bit of blockstun so who knows?), BUT it DOES make our Z-drop fruits infinitely more dangerous on shield.

EDIT:

Damn it... We can't seem to get a jablock off of that 1st thing. I thought so for a bit, but attempting to roll with the 2nd controller showed me none of those were actually jablocking as our footstool brings us too high up.
Still, it's a good way to set up a jablock in doubles.

Also it works with the strawberry as well.

___________

SUPER EDIT:

Hoooooooly crap! This is a productive night of labbing.

So... anyone ever wish they could instant launch a hydrant with z-dropped fruits that aren't key? NOW YOU CAN!

That instant redrop thing is a godsend.
Jump up and Z-drop a fruit then drop a hydrant on it. When the fruit hits the hydrant, it will bounce off and back up at you. Instant Z-drop the fruit to immediately launch the hydrant. You can even regrab the fruit before it hits the ground after this so that it doesn't wear out.

This opens a lot of possibilities, especially with Apple (Because of the weird angle it launches at) and Bell (I don't know about you guys, but my opponents try to stay away when I have bell in hand. This allows me to easily zone them while keeping a ridiculous punish option in hand if they choose to approach.).

_____

Also we can combo a gushed Z-dropped strawberry or Orange into a launched hydrant by placing a hydrant, SH Z-drop the strawberry so that it bounces off of the hydrant, damages it, then hits the water blast just before hitting the ground (There is a very specific point you need to drop it at, but it's not really something I can explain, you just have to lab it and find the right timing). While the strawberry is doing that, drop back down and Bair the hydrant.

This causes a gushed strawberry to get launched horizontally while a hydrant bounces barely behind it and covers the jump option. If they get hit by the strawberry at anything below 100% it combos, at above that % I can't say for sure. This same method and result work with Orange, though you are far less likely to have that in hand.

You can also do this with the Apple and Melon with the same timing, and while it doesn't seem like they will combo into each other, it does kind of fill the screen with kill moves.

Z-dropped Bell can also do this, but it requires a significantly harder timing and TBH it feels like a waste of a bell.

________________

ONE MORE EDIT:

Oh, one more thing, and this is kind of a dirty edgeguard:

Both of the things in the "Super EDIT" can be combined for a really nasty ledgetrap.

Drop a strawberry near the ledge (Back facing away from the ledge) then drop a hydrant on it. Now catch and redrop the strawberry. DO NOT RECATCH IT A 3rd TIME!
This will cause a still active strawberry to fly in an upwards parabola offstage while keeping the hydrant at 1 HP. Now hop off and either jab or trampoline it.

This gives you what should be a BnB bouncing hydrant ledge setup with an additional hitbox flying around offstage limiting recovery options even further.
On top of that due to Strawberry's low knockback, it will never help the opponent survive and instead will make them lose height, or if you're lucky, a whole jump.

Yo guys! Quick update on my situation if anyone cares.

I'm starting to get annoyed with the 3DS because of several things, but particularly four things.
- It's not HD
- I consider there's only 4 stages that are playable competitively (Battlefield, FD, Lumiose, Yoshi) and it's a little redundant to only play on these all the time
- The online lags a lot sometimes
- The biggest problem is probably the lack of C-stick and the D-pad. It's annoying to do random smashes when you want to tilt, do SideBs when you want to UpB and the contrary, and things like that.

Also, I overdose'd on Pac. Everytime I play a character too much, I have to switch because I get tired of playing him/her. I'll probably be playing a lot more with Diddy or Custom Villager for the next couple of weeks, even though I'll play less. This means I will also be less active than I already was on the Pac forums.

With all that said, I plan on getting a Wii U as soon as possible. I have to buy another computer screen, possibly cables, the Wii U, the game, a GC controller, and a GC adapter. I'll probably be able to in one or two paychecks (read two weeks to a month), maybe a little longer. I'll be playing more often then, going to tournaments more often, and contributing more to the forums. I also plan on returning to Pac eventually.

Overdosing on pacman? Sounds impossible :D
I know it's impossible for me lol. With mega man though...one gets tired of jumping and pressing A...you have to be so meticulous for that character lol

The only time I put pac-man down is when I'm having an off day in general (or the lag prevents me from doing any tricks)

Hello Pac-Men!

I was experimenting with various characters' customs earlier today, and discovered that, on walled stages, if Pac-Man is too low to recover with Meteor Trampoline, he can bounce on the trampoline until it spikes him, then DI toward the stage and wall jump tech. Because of Trampoline's properties, Pac-Man will have his jumps refreshed and can easily make it back to the ledge.

Probably not that likely to come into play, but better to know about it and not need it than to need it and not know about it, eh?:4pacman:

Neat! I've been trying to do this myself for a while but I could never figure out how.

Also we're now the Pac-Slam boards

Oh, I forgot to mention this the other day. So PP doesn't interact with Timber Counter sapling, but the tree will hit the pellet and let us heal.

I doubt this will get abused, but I think it would be an infinite stalling tactic.

I haven't but I work at a book/music/electronics store where we receive and sell amiibos, so I'll look if I can order or reserve one.

I'm crossing my fingers that my local EB won't be flooded and that I can pick him up.

Here's to that.

Good luck! These wave 4 amiibos are going out like crazy. I should have stayed up the whole night and pre order that Jigglypuff amiibo but I didn't and lost my chance. Hopefully I can get one in the future. At least I'll be getting Pac-Man and Wario by the end of this month or next month.

( Disclaimer: Definitely not on the same level as you guys but im trying haha). Anyways, Im having trouble re-catching the key for zdrop situations and Im not exactly sure what Im doing wrong. It seems like im not throwing it out fast enough, but even if I mash B to get it out as quickly as possible it doesnt seem to work. Any insight on what Im doing wrong here?

Thanks guys!

Edit: seeing as I need 10 posts on here for links, I just posted the stuff that goes after youtubes home page url, sorry for that inconvenience

Lemme get that for you.

The placing seems to be really picky - try to get it RIGHT at the ledge. Don't panic if you can't land it, though. Having a key to Z-drop makes Hydrants WORLDS easier to get rid of and it's very useful but it's not mandatory. It's just good to know if you need to. I had trouble doing it too, but then I just kinda said "whatever". I'll practice it more, like the Hydrant Cancels, but I feel like the ledge z-dropped key isn't mandatory. Like I said, though, it's very helpful to have up your sleeve.

Yeah, you seem to throw it a little too late, and it ends up hitting the understage (or at least, the lower portion of the ledge). Just throw it faster. PEPESPAIN has posted a good video on it, which is probably what you watched. Look at where he throws it, and try to throw it at the exact same spot (the spot changes depending on the stage). Just keep doing it until it works, then try to practice to get the timing right most/all of the time.

Oh Pac baby you're looking better than ever.

It's probably the "hey you should buy this this is totally the real deal" one but MAN that amiibo looks great.

And speaking OF the Pac-Man amiibo, did any of you get your pre-orders in for him? Managed to snag one today alongside Ness - but I'm considering 2. One I keep in the box, the other I have for myself and maybe I get painted to have oven mitts/plaid boots.

Ok yeah, thanks Google. Actually, this is both the stupidest and the greatest thing I think I've ever seen.

Noooooo! Why would you ruin an amiibo by painting his worst alt over it?! oo:

It's one of his better ones. Nothing beats oven mitts.
I was about to propose a poll, but I feel like it's useless since every alt would just get rekt by people who like the oven mitts. Still stand my ground.

I went the day my store got them and the second they opened up. Got Ness, too.
Oh that's pretty nice. I'm kinda jealous :// But I deserve it, laziness kills. You weren't interested in the others?

We all have opinions and I'll respect yours even if it's something I horribly disagree with.

Every Pac-Man is good. I just like Oven Mitts the best.

Nah, the others didn't really catch my eyes. I wanted the ones of my mains, so I've got Kirby and Mega Man. Need to get Mario, but I've got Pac-Man and Ness pre-ordered now.

Psh... You can't beat "get in the kitchen" pacman.

As a general rule though, if you don't have a name for your alternate costume then it's not a good alt.
