Tyler, strange question, you still have friends in Belleville, right? Would they be interested in starting / participating in a smash scene?
My family was thinking of moving to that region, and I found an apartment (nice, actually) that I could rent for *gasp* free.
The place is in Picton, so it'd be about half an hour away from downtown Belleville, 45 min away from Kingston. (And I get to make all sorts of Pictonchat jokes lawl) But the kicker is, from my understanding, there's pretty much no scene there. I've browsed these forums, looking at Belleville, Picton, and Kingston for players. No dice. I'll probably make a topic on it later looking for players, but for now I'm off to AiB to check thangs out.
If your friends are interested in starting one, I *may* consider moving to the area and taking that apartment. And it will only take me 2.5 to 3 hours to get to Ottawa on a bus from there, like $30 round. So you guys can expect to see me a lot more, and it'd be mad easy for you guys to visit.
Like, I'm not moving anywhere for smash, I want to make that clear. But if I can get a smash scene going, you know, to meet people and such, then that's definitely a plus and would factor in my decisions.

I haven't talked to my friends down in Belleville since they were finishing up their College/University exams actually, so I'm not entirely sure if the older bro plays Smash at all or if it's just the younger one (hell, the older one I barely got to talk to for past couple years). The younger one (who Alan's played against a couple of times, and is that Wolf I went against in those youtube vids I put up a while back), went to Sheridan (I think) last I checked and I have absolutely no idea if either of them (or their folks for that matter) are back in Belleville or are planning on going back. So yeah, even though we still shoot the odd Facebook or MSN message, I couldn't really tell you what's going on with them or if there's any semblance of a Smash Scene in the area at all. Sorry, dude.
But the Belleville area's actually a pretty nice place. It's like the small town feel of K-ville without the redneck-ishness in places and with a good bit of the pros of the city.

@Cam- Dan might be hosting next time. I can try to convince them to host it on a day that is not Saturday, if only for your own benefit of being able to come. Let's just say there are some familiar faces there, too. The SF4 gathering also has an altogether different atmosphere than smashfest. Also, I couldn't get the ID of 00082 for some reason. Maybe the game doesn't use 0s? Anyways, I also couldn't use 82000 either since it kept downing that to 65535 or something, so I put 28000 for now. I am still working on making things look all legit so consider this "version 1".
@Bryant- How much does the seat you're offering cost? I'm interested in the spot. I don't care much for smoke in general, but I don't mind weed smoke that much.

I've heard the SFIV gatherings and stuff are much different and almost a complete 180 in terms of atmosphere to the Brawl things that go down at Cam's, but again I've never been so could be totally wrong. That being said, I'll most definitely want to check it out at some point to see firsthand for myself because I do at the very least think it'd be nice to try. Even if the people there turn out to be the type who do nothing but taunt and insult for little reason than because they can.

Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought Harold's SF4 gatherings were on Fridays, which are bad because, well, there are smashfests
Saturdays, however, would be ok with me, so no need to change the dates for that. Hook me up with the info if something's going down, or give Dan my contact info.Also, using Alan's explanation, you might be able to use 08200 or 00820 for the trainer ID.

Let me just say, before I even go back and look at some of those, the ones you have for FD and Summit are freakin' awesome. I remember when I used to whistle the Wild ARMs theme. Oh, and as for Big Blue or Port Town, may I suggest the OCRemix "Eat Your Own Dust" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHF1iKTOwc8 cheap Youtube channel plug, I know, lol)? I was going to suggest a remix called "Mountain of Dreams" (it's an OCRemix from Link's Awakening), but not sure where it'd fit. Anyway Mike, I can go and start searching through the OCRemix archives to see if I can find anything else that would work and get back to you.
Oh, and it's a cool *** idea.

Too many players just don't want to get good enough to deal with MKs, I swear, they see banning him as the "easy way out". The debates presented are laughable and flawed. I posted, but I know I'm going to regret it.

Yeah.....I happened to vote 'no' because of the sheer stupidity of even trying to think of a legitimate reason for trying to ban MK. And I doubt I'll be posting in there since it would likely annoy me and get me pissed off, and....as Mike knows, when I'm pissed off I rant for **** near forever.

Well ****. My SD card reader stopped working and according to Dell technical support, because my warranty expired it's going to cost me upwards of $50 to call customer support to talk to some overseas call centre grunt who doesn't speak English.
Like, the drives just disappeared. I go into My Computer, and looking at the removable disk section the only option showing is my DVD drive, not the variety of card readers I *had.* I had sd, sd/xml, flash, mem stick, and others. Now they've just ****ing up and disappeared.
So I have no idea what's going on, until my paycheck comes in I can't afford to fix this, and even then I have no idea WTF caused this. I'm mega ****ed off right now, and I have to put this project on hold until this gets sorted out.

erm, well, just look up on google your serial number, and then look for "card reader drivers xxxxxxxx"... if that doesn't work it's a hardware thing, and it's just not connected anymore, in which case no one over the phone will help, and you'll have to get it repaired/replaced (the card reader)
