Fino has the best avatars. ;_;

I'd like to mention Olimarman and I used to do doubles tournaments on WiFi, and we rarely did poorly.

We ran into a double Peach team once, though. <<;

where I think Olimar does well in teams is just camping the pivot grab behind an aggro partner like Marth or MK. You just punish whatever they do to get past your partner and combo from there, or just put them in really bad position and **** them.

vertical comboing from a grab is really easy and builds damage insanely fast.

Oli Dthrow > Marth Uair > Oli Uair > Marth Uair > Oli Uair is like 70+ dmg.

it's also pretty easy to just bounce an opponent back and forth between the two of you. I find "laddering" in doubles to be the most effecting strategy, ending the combo with a high fair to set up for edgeguarding.

Peach ***** Olimar REALLY REALLY ****ING BAD.

80-20.

I recently picked up Oli, and i'm okay with him.
He's probably one of my stronger secondaries now.

I played Gea, he JV 3-stocked me, and he wasn't even trying.

It's hard for olimar to do anything, even building damage is insanely difficult.

Nothing goes through your Dair but Up-B, but Oli is really vulnerable after that, and you could just jump over it and start a combo. Oli can't use pikmin latch at all, Dair/Nair gets all of them off and while Oli takes more time to pluck, Peach is just floating ever closer, and you have to mix up rolls to get out of danger.

Oli can't abuse pivot grab well, if at all in the matchup. Peach just floats above his grab range, and throws out Dairs whenever Oli tries to Usmash, and if Oli Fairs you can just float away or Nair through it.

Gimping Olimar with peach seems like the easiest thing in the world.
you can just throw out a turnip and bair, and that's it. he's done.

if you don't wanna do that, you can grab the ledge, instant float Nair with invincibility and it's even worse.

just about the only thing I can think to do is smash DI, tech against the stage and up-B back, but that is horribly situational and not reliable at all.

Dair beats everything, Side-b is a viable approach and gets rid of pikmin, Aerials to Jab is hard to defend against, and gimps are basically guaranteed.

horrible, horrible ****. almost as bad as Ganon vs Icies.

I would never ever, ever play this matchup again even if you paid me to do it.

LOL. I knew that much. I would love to have Peach dittos against him :>
I meant as a team for doubles. What do you think as Peach and Olimar in a team.

I dunno.
We didn't ever try it.

hmm....

combo the **** out of people, but I'm not sure about matchups.

edgeguarding would probably suffer, and since that is important in doubles, make them a less than stellar team.

I dunno, really unconventional to say the least

ummm... what?! :laugh:
65:35 at worst, but most Olimar mains consider it 60:40.

okay, makes a lot more sense now ^^;
Not saying your olimar is bad, though. I play with a peach semi-regularly, and trust me, it's a matchup that takes time to learn. You don't play the matchup at all like you would others. It takes a completely different mindset.

Counter? Sure.
Hard counter? Not at all.

Noa.

65:35 or 60:40.

It's a hard matchup to learn. Your usual tools don't get you anywhere because of her float. Just need to be careful and not make too many mistakes.

My friend and I use Lucas-Oli. We don't have any real reason for it besides Throw/grab release -> Lucas' Usmash =D

It's too good, really.

I don't pay enough attention to the rest of the match to tell why anything else is good about it besides he can save you easily, lol

Yeah I am pretty sure Mario is not a good partner for Oli, he just gets ***** by MKs and GnWs (many more). And there are too many teams with GnW and MKs in them.

Oh no, I got MK down, I just grab the **** out of him, it's my brother who gets ***** by MKs, I guess he just has to step his game up, but this is always online and MK ***** in lag. Yeah there is the Cape ****, but in lag it's so hard to pull off. Me and my bro have only done it a few times.

Also this brings a question me and my bro team as Olimar/Mario so should we pick stages that help Mario or Olimar more. This confuses me most when we're facing characters that Mario always has trouble with in like any stage, like say two MKs. So should we pick stages that help Mario live the most, or stages where Olimar can KO fastest.

I would like to propose another team-up idea that seemed somewhat successful, Oli/Ness.

1. Olimar can build damage quickly and Ness has a killer Bthrow, Fsmash, Bair, Dair (spike), UpB, etc.

2. Ness can guard areas (like the edge) fairly well with PK Fire and Fair.

3. Ness does really well on Japes, which is a crappy stage for Olimar (I don't believe Hilt! Don't even try!)

4. PK Thunder 1 can be used as a saving move, though it can leave the Ness quite open. A well-timed Fair can also help, but it's really hard to land and get both back to the stage.

5. Pikmin don't seem to stick to a constantly-moving Ness (though you shouldn't be flinging them at your ally anyway)

6. I can't remember my other point, so I'll add it later.

Downsides:

1. Gimping.

2. Gimping

3. Bah gawd, you can both get gimped.
