Well apparantly it's not out yet, it's coming out on the 21st isn't it? The Sheik and Snake images may have just been a preview in last week's Famitsu.

If I had to pick between Joanna Dark and Banjo Kazooie (both RARE, of course), I'd pick for Joanna Dark.

Yeah, I don't think it's out yet, but those images are supposedly from people who got the magazine early. They wouldn't have shown Sheik in a preview in last month's issue, and if they did we'd have known about her a month ago.

I'm fairly certain that the only reason Necrid is even listed is due to copyright listings in Soul Calibur 2 itself. No way in hell Necrid would make it in, nor would he even be a good character (he wasn't in SC2 >_>).

Also, i've said this before, and i'll say it again - if I had a guide like that, I wouldn't hesitate to scan every image at the highest quality possible - a leak isn't a leak until something similar. Anything else is a horrible crop-job that just happens to be in low quality.

It says chunsoft too. I wonder if Homeland (The only online gamecube game besides PSO) will be in Brawl. That'd be kind of cool.

Necrid in brawl? That would be one huge WTF.

So we can pretty much confirm that the book shows no new characters,

necrid could be a good choice for brawl as he doesnt use a convntional weopon like most soul calibur characters and there are already enough sword weilders he would also be a good "mature" addition for the roster as well as from a reputable and well known franchise

ill keep my barely substantiated opttimism that this is real until proved otherwise
A lot of people obviously don't know SC

Necrid is in one game, and then they got rid of him. He was made by Todd McFarlane, the same guy who made Spawn. Spawn was in SC II for the Xbox. So pretty much he just made one other bonus character. Having him represent Soul Calibur would be like having Geno represent Mario. Not that he's a bad character, but he's definitely not a series veteran.

My take on this either
1. It' Fake

2. The copyrights listed are for the booklet, not the game. Which would make sense to me. Does not each character have a history page? If so then those characters and games where probably mentioned somewhere in the booklet. Necrid under Link's profile, Banjo and Crunch under Diddy's etc...

I think they make it so they have to get their props ya know? That might be why kirby can get more items and stuff since they make kirby games!

Right behind you with a knife.
I agree that itt must be the book's copyrights. No way is Necrid getting in this game. Just no way. It'd make sense though if they just mention him in passing in Link's history, and the same goes for the Rare characters who showed up in Diddy Kong Racing.

B & K were in the top ten most wanted characters for Melee on Sakurai's list, you know...

I can dream...
And I'm sure even more people want Master Chief than Banjo. And I'm being totally serious, Halo is big because it did a really good job of being deep enough for hardcore gamers but accessible enough for casuals. A lot of those casuals would think it would be awesome if he was in, even though he doesn't stand a chance.

I think Necrid and B&K are used for references only. U know the history of the PCs in brawl.

I'd pick Banjo & Kazooie as they're just made for Brawl lol
It's so true! DainBramaged also has the right idea: Banjo and Kazooie are the perfect third-party candidates without a doubt. Pity they won't be in. I miss them so much...

Exactly my theory, this is what I believe. I doubt this much would be revealed, unless it specifically says it's for the game, not the booklet.

If you're talking about this here, it's fake. It says Todd McFarlane Productions. The guy from Spawn? He's a comic guy, not from video games. Sakurai stated that only characters that originated from video games can get in.

well. those 1st two pictures seemed to have no relationship with brawl-or super smash brothers. and then one with Banjo Diddy and Krunch are probably Diddy Kong Racing. wow....

There is a number of problems in this thing. For one thing, the copyright label only extends into 2007. I find that odd considering you usually see an updated copyright right from the beginning of the year. But hey, maybe I'm wrong.

Next, McFarlane is known for creating the broken character that was Necrid, but he also designs little statue like things. Chances are Necrid might be a trophy in Brawl.

The rare copyright was back from 1997, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Diddy Kong Racing came out that year. So no bear and bird for Brawl, I'm afraid.

On the other hand... I don't know much about copyright law/policy so I could be completely wrong. Who knows? That is quite the list of game developers though.

I'm going to sadly admit that means Ness is out...

well there we go, all the proof we needed, these characters and companies are NOT confirmed to be in Brawl.

/thread
How so? The Famitsu book just shows off the known characters. I see nothing relating to a complete character roster, confirmation or whatever, because Famitsu probably is not at liberty to showcase all of the characters that are in or not.

Ok wow dude, I just uploaded these like, 3 minutes ago. Oh well. Yeah, like people said, those companies were probably mentioned so Famitsu could use the images. I also think that Necrid has to be mentioned along with Soul Calibur 2, because I couldn't find him anywhere.

Sorry AGAIN if I caused any excitement or confusion; I just thought the copyrights were interesting info. Oh well, here's one more pic from Diddy Kong's history page:

BTW did anyone get to translate that Ness bit? Just wanted to know what it said...
