The problem is the crappy infraction system, and how people like feeling superior to mods.

Well, they are superior. Regular members can make infinite mistakes so long as they space them out properly. Moderators just gotta step on someone's toe once to lose what they've got. They have absolute freedom to do what they want, where they want, and how they want. Moderators are restricted by the same rules that are consistently bent by regular users.

And you can't say that a mods ability to move posts, delete posts, etc gives them a one up either. Users can PM, report, and do similar actions that have the same end result. And they don't get slapped on the wrist for not doing their part.

As for your hyperbole, I said the setup was a joke. Doesn't mean that it's completely broken.

Also XD that being given responsibility "makes" someone inferior - I feel like there's some parallel between women and housework and really stupid lazy men or something... but illustrating that parallel any farther would make me perma-banned - also I think mods are probably not inferior (relate this back to the second comment in this paragraph before you flame me for said comment). At least in part because it sounds like the worst that happens is they lose mod status and therefore it's not really a punishment anyways... sounds like they just get extra protection.

About that video... It's more like a representation on the MU 3 years ago. Sadly not many good kirbies are around to properly represent these days. I wouldn't look at a 3-year old video and base discussion on this years' metagame on it.

First, no idea what case you are resting. Second, it wasn't meant to be a basis for discussion so much as an assertion that "unless Kirby/Peach has some technique not exploited here or ChuDat is god (which is a possibility), the MU can't possibly be THAT bad." But I do understand the point you make and will avoid older videos when possible (that video was a result of just googling the terms "SSBB", "Peach", "ChuDat", and "Kirby" all at once). In the future I will find stuff from 2013.

I meant my case on how some normal members of SWF see themselves as superior to mods, and how it was part of the problem.

Not quoting anything else since it's not really necessary, seeing as how you understand where I'm coming from. It's not so much as singling you out, but more of a tip on choosing much more relevant examples in the future. Glad you took it well.

Until Chu plays some good Peach I don't think you can judge that matchup at all.

TL's not that good, having the worst grab in the game (besides Ganon? He has a decent command grab though) kinda sucks lol.

And unmoderated forums are ****ing terrible so ty mods.

It nice to see appreciation sometimes. It isn't easy looking after such as active forum with so few of us putting forth effort. Meanwhile, those of us who do are lashed at and insulted constantly, having to deal with people who are being malicious and immature for no justifiable reason. It's as if people don't think of us as humans, as if we aren't here because we're just individuals who love this game and want to help its community prosper. Equals, you could say, just some of us being more proactive while others being more social or informative. But I don't mean to be a hypocrite, so as intriguing as this topic may be, we should really get back to the topic of the thread now.

Quest: what specifically do you think is "wrong" with TL's matchup chart? Probably the glaring +1 vs ICs, but anything else?

Ghost: I think we can judge the match-up from objective qualities if we understand which character can take advantage of specific situations better. For instance, Peach should be having a very difficult time utilizing d-air with kirby's aerial mobility and small size. Plus, her glide tossing and turnip game in general gets shut down pretty hard by b-air spacing. I'm definitely no expert on either of these characters though (like most people), so watching great players in these sorts of matchups would definitely broaden our understanding/perspective of how it plays out.

And TL is an aerial-based character, so not having a good grab isn't the defining factor of TL not being that good. Besides, ICs have the best grabbing in the game and TL is still +1 vs them!

I've always felt like the Mu would be annoying if the Tink was playing conservatively... which basically means having a bomb on him at all times and camping to the max.

But provided that i've always kinda thought it'd be ok. At least the ICs would find it hard to grab. Their other stuff, I dunno. :o
