Here's an idea:

The time of day in the stage would correspond to the real time of day. Sunrise at 6AM, sunset 6 PM. That would be awsome to fight in a day-time setting at 12 noon, and fight in a night time setting at 12 midnight, all on the same stage. Just a thought
that would be cool, then i could change the clock on my Wii and change the appearance of the stages!

Day/Night would surely work for an Animal Crossing level. And when you get Star KO'd while there is an air event (Pete, Gulliver, floating balloon with present, Wishy the Star ( o_O ) ), it interacts with that event.

I've heard that symbol is from Fire Emblem 3, the second game Marth starred in. I *think* it was the antagonist nation's flag.

looks to me like metaknight's stage is similar to falcon's in that it includes a moving platform. the video shows it with his ship flying by it and also docking on the ship.

I really doubt any of the stages showed in the trailer are final. If so, we should be ready for some ****ty generic stages.

and they weren't even that generic, the only generic one I saw was the (supposedly) kid icarus stage with the thre platforms, and you need afew of them inthe game.

As for a suggestion for a "falling" level, the level could be similar to the Ice Climber's level in melee where it automatically scrolls. You could have a bunch of platforms falling down from the top and you can land on those to attack, and you keep jumping up from platform to platform.

As for my idea on the stages, I would hope the castle one is from Fire Emblem, just because I want Marth to return, and for him to have his own stage. And since it seems that there is an inside and outside, it could mean either the level will move, or there's some way to enter/exit the castle, or it will be two different levels.

The Hangar with Metaknights ship the Halberd looks like it will be like Mute City, and you'll fight on one platform as it takes you around the level. Which looks pretty cool too.

As for the rest that we don't know about, I really hope that they add more "gimmicky" stages. I'm a great melee player (or was back in the day) but I'm not a tournament kind of guy, so I'm all for crazy stages. Things like Hyrule Temple, or Big Blue. They just make the game interesting and more fun. I wouldn't mind a few simple ones, but I hope the majority have things going on around you.

I'd like some really DANGEROUS stages :)

What if we get a Mario stage that has no safe ground? A stage made up entirely of bricks? Like the ones over the Mushroom Kingdom stage, but a lot more brick platforms to that you don't run out of solid ground TOO easily.

Sounds fun to me, but would definitely give some characters a huge advantage:kirby:/disadvantage:bowser: .
So, perhaps if we have just one tiny but solid platform somewhere in the center?

Seems like such a stage would create a King-of-the-Hill mindset while playing, mwahahaha :chuckle:

yeah, it wouldn't be the fairest stage, but it would be fun, especially with kirby, jiggz, metaknight, pit, and possibly others

the non-air characters could hog the middle, while the air characters battle it out on the sides. Actually, if there are enough brick platforms (4-6 smallish ones per side, with 2 or 3 layers, so if you get spiked from the top layer, you land on the middle layer) I don't see why even Bowser couldn't wreak some havoc.
(he'd just have to get his @$$ to solid ground once the platforms run low)

the solid platform could be really low in the center to make recovering to it possible.

Providing Sonic makes it in, Green Hill would rock. they should take out Fourside and put in Magicant though, might make for a better level... if anything it would look cooler. Hopefully the Halberd will be on the ship, not just a tiny platform with the ship in back, t hat wouldnt be as cool.

There's just so many Sonic stages a Sonic level in Smash could really look like anything. So a SOnic level would not really be that distinguished.

Hughwauh, now?

How does the fact that there are a lot of applicable ideas for a Sonic the Hedgehog stage make it so that if there was a Sonic stage in Smash, it would indistinguishable from any other stage. No offense, but that doesn't make sense.
Anyway, if Sonic made it into the game (and he SHOULD! )
, I think a Sonic stage would be excellent. It could have a loop-de-loop thing that you can either run through, or jump over.

I meant like, it could be hard to tell it was a Sonic level because there isn't really an overall thing included in the levels. Like with Great Bay, you could tell it was Zelda because of the owl, Moon, and Tingle.

I just gave an example of how they could make a stage "Sonicy". And yes, there usually is an "overall thing". Like the Green/Emerald Hill and Angel Island grassyness. Or like a Carnival Nights/Casino Palace (which would actually be kind of lame).
But in any case, if they were to design a Sonic stage, they would have a lot to choose from, and I know Sakurai would do us proud.

In the ? Box that Mario must hit.
Green Hill Zone (perfect choice), Marble Zone, and Casino Night Zone would be the best and most recognizable for Sonic games. But they'll probably screw up and give us something like Station Square, or worse, a level from SA2, Sonic Heroes, or Shadow the Hedgehog.

I'm hoping the Daein stage doesn't turn SSBB into a Mortal Kombat type stage selection. (Meaning multiple levels on stages.)
