People are getting out of control with the third parties I think...I could defiantly see Mega Man but characters like Sora, Naurto, even more sonic characters, is just like...wtf? If Smash Bros was all abouut third parties, then it would come out for the other systems, but its made by Nintendo, for Nintendo, Snake has his reasons for being in, and Sega is pretty much Nintendo's ***** anyway, the most possible third party characters I think though are Megaman and Bomberman, and its already pretty slim for them

Yeah that reminds me when lots of people were so furious about Ness not being cut. They really hoped for Ness to be cut. I don't know why.

I think that people want other cut because if they feel they are stupid in some way they shouldn't be in. We all have like this inner "counter" because we all know that SSB4 can only have so many characters and if one character is 'stupid' in one's eyes they would hope they don't get in or are cut if they are already in to make another character who is more deserving. Because we know we cannot have 100 characters in a game, that is why people hope certain ones will be cut to make way for new ones to fill their place.

Actually Snake debuted in the very first Metal Gear on the NES. So he's been with Nintendo longer than you think.

Um... You're not even arguing against his point. Read before you reply. What he's saying is that all these randomly chosen third-party characters shouldn't be included, only the ones that are main and iconic to the gaming world. That's why he said Sonic and Snake were okay, as well as Megaman.

Alright well a few comments I have:

1.) I agree with cutting characters being an overall bad thing. I don't think they should really cut any. Maybe just improve certain ones (like ganon by giving him a more unique moveset with a sword or something).

2.) Another sonic character is low on my priority list compared to megaman and phoenix wright anyways, or compared to any other unique character. But still, I don't think it would be bad to add another sonic character. It just depends on who they add. I'd much rather see megaman though, as I'm a big fan of the megaman legends games, megaman 3, and some of the megaman x games, as well as battle network games.

So, arguing against a LARGE group of people by saying, "No one wants him." Makes no sense, because they obviously do.

Well...Snake wouldn't be in it if Hideo never asked for him to be in it...he actually had to beg...but nonetheless, Snake is a huge video game icon and one of the best, and he originally appeared on the NES. The only reason why MGS games don't appear on Nintendo systems is because Nintendo systems aren't usually powerful enough and MGS really isn't a game cut out for Nintendo system anyway...not compared to our Mario games and such...then again, we do have manhunt 2 and resident evil...but yea, the Metal Gear series is pretty much playstion exclusive anyway, besides the remakes...

The Sonic series has always been considered a rival to the Mario series, and Sega re-released many of the old Sonic games for the Gamecube, and umm...everyone loves Sonic, except for me, but still, everyone loves him, him joining the Smash Bros. series was just destiny...

Now...sexually confused children swinging giant keys with corny dialog don't belong in Brawl...but I think Geno deserves a spot...isn't really a third party and everyone who has played SMRPG just loves him...

There is one reason why I would even consider adding Sora to smash: his music is TOTALLY kickass. Very few pieces of Nintendo music are superior to the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack.

Also, more people need to give love for Dark Samus. The Metroid series deserves to have her added especially since I do not want Ridley being pummeled by Kirby.

And if Snake is removed, they could pull a Pit with Animal Crosser and have him be the most realistic looking character in smash (They should pull a complete makeover for Animal Crosser anyway if he makes it in.).

Cuddos for not removing any characters, although I beleive an exception can be made for Snake and Sonic.

But furthermore, both correspond to a different reasoning for character addition, in my eyes. They are both classic NES stars. They're retro. I think retro characters have different (and looser) criteria for inclusion. They're the nostaligc and/or WTF characters that I think may have come to enjoy. It should stay that way. These characters represent Nintendo's early past.
