Bioware is making the RPG, c'mon. If anyone who can make an exciting, fast paced, smooth RPG it's none other than Bioware. Just because it's Sonic doesn't mean everyone will have an RPG. This is Biowares hard candy, they'll have this game and definitely put a lot of thought into it.

EDIT: Del Money isn't here, it's gonna get boring. Well I still got some of the regulars here. I just noticed how close Del is to a thousand post.

I'm sure the ol' Del will be back soon.... After his bro's wedding.

On topic, i am just gonna hope they announce Sonic at the Tokyo Game Show in September (Which is the month of my Birthday, perhaps i should wish for him on my birthday XD). If he isn't, then i will jus give in and say he may be announced AFTER Brawl is realeased. I'd rather it be at TGS, but you know Nintendo & there cruel ways in hiding stuff from the press.

Back again. Del better hurry up with that wedding, lol.

Could it be any worse than any other Sonic game in recent memory?
That's virtually impossible. They'd have to scrape the gutter with this game to do that, and seeing as how it's Bioware, that's not gonna happen.

It does worry me how it will impliment Sonic's speed. But it is being developed by the geniuses at BioWare.
QFT. Bioware FTW.

Next thing you know, a Crash Bandicoot RTS game. Lead the the army against the evil version of Spyro!
Crash Bandicoot =/= Spyro. You're confusing the two. But I wouldn't mind a Crash Bandicoot RPG...maybe not Spyro, but nvm.

*SNIFF* I feel unloved.:urg:

Yeah, really, lol. And the only reason Money is near 1,000 posts is cuz he's such a blabbermouth. Lol, jk Money--we love you.

Don't worry as awkward as I feel i love you all. *Dies a little inside* lol jp. SonicMario wish, wish, and wish for the final confirmation on your birthday. Even as far fetched as that sounds. TGS is all we got left for Sonic in Brawl. It already drives me crazy that I still have around 4 months till Brawl is released than a few days to figure out how to unlock Sonic.

EDIT: Well if Sonic is in Brawl and online play comes into the thousands of features Brawl has to offer. I can't wait till actually make a group of Elite just Sonic and Mario clan, group, cell whatever you wanna call it. I hope Sonic plays well like in Sonic Battle. Since there hasn't been a tournament for Melee in my location for a while, Brawl will and hopefully be the new "game of choice" around here (hoping Halo 3 doesn't swallow all of the community) The gaming community here isn't Sonic bound, I'll prove myself worthy and revive Sonic just a little.

Who owns Crash / Spyro now? I stopped playing both franchises, because they're last few games made them utterly dead to me (ever play Crash Bandicoot DS? *PUKES*).

I have no idea. lol. But I know Sierra's been making the latest Spyro games. It's a bit darker now. So apparently, they thought that if you add some evil, people will forget how bad the game is. lol.

@k!llsw!tch Don't worry i will!

Offtopic: Anyone know about Mario Strikers Charged? that is the game that i will probably play until the big ones at holiday come. I will just love using that Mega Strike!

On Topic: Sonic is more likely appear in Brawl then any other 3rd Party character. Like this thread has more posts then the other 3rd Party threads. Larger then the Megaman threads, a lot larger then the Bomberman threads, and even more larger then the confirmed Snake threads. So just hope that 200+ pages (Not yet 200 but soon...) of Sonic pays off!

I haven't owned or played a Spyro or Crash game in years. I'm too use to Ratchet and Clank or Jak and Daxter. Spyro is more of a younger audience game. Crash is still cool no matter what imo.

EDIT: Maybe our support will pay off let's hope SEGA checks any type of boards lately. I would be disappointed that Snake would make the cast even before Sonic ( I'm a huge Metal Gear Fan no offense) Honestly Snake was one of the last people I thought would make it. I just think he's in to keep Snake alive because MGS4 is Snakes final game. Well back to SEGA, I heard they don't even check their own boards. :( Lately great ideas have spawned there from people who almost know Sonic in, out, up and down.

Hey--don't bash Bomberman. He roxorz. No joke.

And just because the Sonic thread is slightly bigger than the Megaman thread, and considerably bigger than the Bomberman thread (even though he rox), that doesn't mean he belongs in Brawl any more than the other two.

Don't get me wrong--I want Sonic in Brawl. Just don't be hatin'. ;)

I saw an Archie Sonic Comic Anthology at Barnes and Nobles today.I might go back and buy it soon.Speaking of which,I was reading the newest Sonic comic and I saw the cover for next month's issue:Sonic vs Tails!

Sonic's hometown of New Mobotropolis has been devastated by unspeakable threats from beyond… but what about those within? There's talk of revolution, and Sonic will have to choose sides! Will the leaders of the rebellion drive a wedge between Sonic and Tails forever? It's the fight everyone's feared but never thought they'd see… mentor vs. protégé, friend vs. friend, Sonic vs. Tails!

Thought it might be a cool pickup.:)

O hey Del Money hows the wedding. I should go pick up issue 177 tomorrow.
weddings tomorrow, the rehearsal followed by a dinner was tonight and in a weird twist of fate (poor planning) i ended up back at my house with hi-speed internet so yeah im here til the update, then tomorrows the big day and ill be staying in our old house (that has dial up) with a bunch of relatives til sunday morning. so thats the next time youll all see me.

#177 was ok but the series is definitely dying down. my prediction is #200 or #250 at the most will be the last issue.

EDIT: PS - the bridesmaids are SO hot (especially the one i get to escort heh heh)

Well at least Sonic's handheld collection isn't dying the slightest.

Also, have fun with the relatives and dial-up, I'm guessing a lot of kids will show up and the computer won't be available.

Let's talk about Sonic Rush 2 adventure, anyone see it lately.

http://ds.ign.com/objects/900/900363.html

Here's the article the lazy way

May 10, 2007 - The event coverage continues as the unofficial "Pre-E3" week pushes on, and our second stop is at good ol SEGA. With some budding news on NiGHTS for Wii, as well as some sneak peaks at the 360 and PS3 front, DS had only one humble showing, but it was a decent one. Sonic Rush: Adventure took the stage today, and while a ton of the game's aspects are virtually the same as they were with the original Rush for DS, it still stands to be one of the most highly anticipated third-party titles of this year. After all, when it comes to revitalizing the Sonic franchise, there's no such thing as too much of a good thing.

The demo was extremely brief this morning, showcasing gameplay for about five minutes, but SEGA had a few interesting aspects to share with us, and it left us eagerly awaiting some hands-on time. The game looks, runs, and has the feel of the original Sonic Rush for DS, blending a 3D look with entirely 2D gameplay as players take the stage as the blue blur and race through new arenas now two screens high. As for presentation, Rush Adventure shows off the same style as the original, as the bottom screen is used to navigate stages for Sonic to blast through one by one. Tails takes the place as an in-menu lackey, but again looks to be playing backup for Sonic, as he was not available as a playable character throughout any of the demonstration. Blaze the cat makes an appearance once again, and plays alongside Sonic as the other main character.

We noticed a few interesting differences from the games during our brief eyes-on, but aside from an added mode of play used in the single player mode it's basically the game Sonic Rush as its predecessor. There seems to be more incorporation of 3D elements into the 2D world, so Sonic will blast at the screen and then land back on the 2D floor below, or use 3D level components to shoot from the foreground and background and then back again. It's nearly 100% cosmetic, but again, why break a nearly-perfect DS engine by adding useless gameplay elements into the mix, right?

As for the new mode during the story campaign, Sonic will be taking to a jet ski for inter-island navigation. As an entirely separate style of play, users can now pull out the DS stylus and control Sonic in a island-to-island mini-game. When going between the different worlds players will chart their jet skit path (similar to paths in Star Fox DS) by simply drawing on the screen, and will then begin the mini-game. The game is as simple as dragging the stylus across the bottom of the touch screen to navigate Sonic (very similar to the flying mode in Lunar Knights), in order to grab rings, find new 2D levels by taking alternate paths, and tricking off huge jumps. When in mid-air, just trace the on-screen strokes to execute spins and flips. It's merely a distraction from the main game, but as a way to build upon Sonic without screwing with the core 2D levels it works just fine.

Our stint with Sonic Rush: Adventure was short, but it left a good taste in our mouth. Sonic looks to be back in familiar fashion, and while the game encompasses the same gameplay, style, look, and feel, we can't really complain after the solid 9.0 version last year. The added jet ski mode is simple and a bit tacked on, but it seems to play well, and is an integral part to opening a second half of the game made up entirely of bonus 2D levels. We'd love to see characters such as Tails and Knuckles make it back into the mix as playable characters, but it looks like we'll be waiting for the inevitable Sonic Rush III for that. As for Adventure, we're excited and ready to go hands-on with the game.

We'll have more on Sonic Rush: Adventure, as well as hands-on and new media within the next few months. Be sure to check back with IGN DS for the latest news on this and other DS products, and don't forget to check out the new screens in our image gallery below courtesy of SEGA.

Think it's an interesting title besides Sonic RPG

We can talk about Sonic Comics at Comic Con.

I wasn't trying to bash those 2, i was just saying that this thread is bigger in posts. I've posted in the Megaman thread before actually. I'd be soemwhat happy with Megaman in, but just not as much as i would Sonic!;)

i heard Sonic Advance 3 was awful. but anyways i need to get me an emula---um i mean DS Lite pretty soon
Also, have fun with the relatives and dial-up, I'm guessing a lot of kids will show up and the computer won't be available.
well i have a laptop (like RDK) but the think is theres only 3 possible phone jacks i can plug into and 2 of them are definitely in ooms thatll be occupied and the 3rd is in the kitchen...so basically im screwed. but at least tomorrow it wont matter much cuz ill be spending time slw-dancing with those bridesmaid and trying to score numbers (it feels good to be single again even though its been almost 5 months now lol)

anyways...Shadow for PC seems interesting but not all that exciting for me. all it does it reveal hope that Sonic 2006 might make it as well. as for Sega re-invent the Sonic series, i hope it means ixnay on the unnecssary aracters-chay. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles in 3D adventures with high speed, solid frame-rate, good graphics, proper collision detection, and a stable camera. thatll sell like hotcakes

The whole stage selection in Sonic advance 3 took the whole speed thing away. The levels still seemed fun to me.

Also nothing like hotcakes, a good Sonic game and putting them to comparison. Lets's just hope the minds at SEGA can stir us up a good Sonic game recipe.

Sonic '06 for PC FTW.

BTW, sorry I haven't been gabbing it up for the last hour--I've been camping for the past few days, and for some reason today the campground's wifi just decided to be a dou*he, and piss me off. So right now I have like a single bar of connection on my laptop.

Just pretend like I'm there agreeing with everything you say. ;) I'm reading the threads, I just can't post too quickly / too much, or my inty conneciton will crash on me.

i just hope that when the next Sonic console game comes out, it wont be as system-exclusive unless of course its for the Wii and its motion-sensing abilities. but at the same time im not sure if the cross-platform implementation is what may have caused Sega to get a bit sloppy. i dont know 100% who video game development works but i dont think too much work goes into making the games multi-platform. i could be wrong though. but still, that Sonic RPG game best come out for Wii and not DS-exclusively. i dont really want to buy a handheld ever again since my laptop satisfies my portable gaming needs

It does suck that Sonic RPG will be coming for DS and not Wii. But i will just see what it is all about for i do not have a DS (But of course i have a Wii). What might be cool is that with it being made by BioWare. Maybe it will have alternate endings like in KOTOR. Like maybe Sonic turns evil, or lol Shadow makes out with Amy! XD

I just wanted to let everyone know, except for SID of course, that Sonic and the Secret Rings is.....well, it's bad. Mostly in the sense that you really don't do anything, the game does everything for you. My friends were over, we were taking turns playing blindfolded. We would say when to attack, but otherwise we were blinded, and I beat a level.
The scenery was very cool though, and entertaining in the least.

I have a feeling that is exactly what all the other current Sonic games are like. If the game didn't do the majority if the work for you and wasn't so darn easy, it would definitely be more fun and interesting.
Although it doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's the other reason why the game is bad and is actually very important. When you jump, you lose most of your speed, having to start over with the speed rush, which is the whole point of Sonic, it gets very boring stopping and starting over again every few minutes.
