I like falco more

but having to hit buttons slower than Fox

I CANT TAKE IT NO MO
This is true.

I can mix shines with shffl'ing easier with Falco and I stumple with my hand doing it with fox. I don't have the finger dexterity to be a technical fox. I know tech-skill isn't everything but without it I couldn't hope to move on to the next level. So after crying none stop for a few days I dropped him for Marth and haven't looked back.

i have been maining falco for my entire time playing smash competively and non competitevely and every once in a while he just starts feeling really slow and choppy.. it really makes me want to main fox.. but i just love falco so much..

..well its a love/hate relationship... but everytime im in a falco slum i just use falcon all the time and start picking up doc again than after a little bit my falco feels good again.

...****ing fox

Whenever I feel slow with any character I'll usually bust out the Ganon. After trying to force him to be as quick as possible I go back to whomever I felts slow with and suddenly Its like lightning melee.

I co-main Puff and Sheik, because they're easy to play and are really abusive, so I can focus more on thinking and reading. I can't play Fox/Falco and be technical while thinking at my highest level. I'd like to go as Puff/Fox, but I do too many silly things with him and die.

I also play a ton of Low/Bottom tiers for fun: Roy, Yoshi, Bowser, Pichu, sometimes Zelda, and have put time into each of them, but I wouldn't use them in tournament. Part of the only way I've had success is because nobody knows what they're doing against them (bad combo DI, not knowing what to do in certain positions, etc).

I learn very fast so I don't think I'll ever have a "midlife character crisis". Lack of tech skill is the only thing that holds potential characters for me back.

I love Puff. =)

ness was a boy from earth, i thought? i haven't played through earthbound yet but iirc he gets his powers from a meteor

i also have another midlife issue.
people who say "i'd like to play xxxx character but i can't be technical and think at the same time so i'mma play a slower character."

it's not as if tech skill is some unyielding barrier that prevents people from being able to do things. honestly people just refuse to put in the practice time and then john about not being able to perform tech skill.

I wish Samus had better matchups.
I have a feeling I lose a lot more than I would if I mained a higher tiered character. I always feel like I'm working harder to keep up with people on the same level as me.

I really don't want to switch mains though. Losing really gets me motivated to get better with Samus and actually win things.

ive recently been messing around with marth because hes brainless to play and requires little to no thought mid play. ;]

At some point in time I've mained all four top tiers, luigi, Ganon, doc, puff, and IC's. When I have trouble with one character, I shift to another one. It's a pretty good strategy IMO other than learning everything slowly.

When people say they don't have technical skill to play <character> I die a little on the inside. Because I've laughed so hard I've suffocated myself.

The thing about fox, is the EVERYBODY plays fox. So boring. Plus, I'm sure most people know approximately at least what to do in the match-up.

I always wanted to get a really good zelda, at least in certain matchups, like the once sheik is bad at.

Let's say that somebody had a really good Zelda vs. Fox, ICs and Puff (bad matchups for Sheik apparently). Then that person would have an instant counterpicked character whenever they wanted. It's my dream, but alas, Zelda is too hard.

Somebody's gotta develop her metagame like crazy. Perhaps she has some AT nobody's figured out.

EDIT: My new goal in life.

i've always wondered about switching mains

it would be cool to hear legitimate advice from good people who have switched mains (m2k, mango?, or like TAI and connor) and what they have to say about it. i wonder if they can answer the "grass is always greener" questions that so many fox players have. or whichever other character, for that matter.

on the other hand, i used to not like fox but since i stopped really playing my secondaries, and got more experience, he's the only character who makes sense to me anymore. consider this the testimonial of someone who used to want to main someone else, but then fell in love with fox again.

usually it's not so good around "just after scrub, but before decent" level and at times "just after decent but
before solid" level.

switching mains can be fine, it just depends on the reason.

Samus sucks. How come she doesn't have a super fast grab, a nice mini short hop, and the ability to combo and approach? How come she gets ***** by everyone that people actually play?

I'm mostly fine with ICs, but the Peach match-up has stressed me out so much that I just go Sheik against her now even though doing so doesn't drastically improve my odds since my Sheik sucks. I do kind of want to learn the Peach ditto since I like using Peach more than Sheik and I think Peach is in most respects my second best character at the moment, but it's probably easier to stick with Sheik since Socal Peaches have a lot of issues with Sheik for whatever reason.

IIRC, I could use at least some PSI before having powers unlocked. But, I'm not entirely sure. The story should be as you said, though.

Agreed. And there should be no john for being ignorant of techskill; if you're dedicated to the game, you should always seek a higher level. The internet is always a great resource so not finding SWF is a disgrace. C'mon, a forum's usually the first thing you look for.

Washington's best player for a while was Ka-Master.

They'll probably ***** about anything. Kirby, Bowser, Pichu... doesn't matter. Character matters not.

I had this after I went to Pound. I was soooo faithful to my original main Young Link. Even though I did so well with him he's nothing compared to top tiers or even mid tiers. So I had to drop him and since then I'd been playing straight Samus.

Though I was known as a Young Link main I progress more with Samus.

idk I guess its boring. its why I picked up marth, I wanted to only play m2. most of the time I feel bad for playing him, so I switch to fox/marth.

there is a good bowser, pichu, kirby, pikachu in Wa.

sometimes, i look at pictures of kirbykaze and reconsider my sexual orientation. i'm considering still maining straight, but picking up "Gay 4 KK" as a secondary.
