1. From now on, if you would like a question added to the FAQ PM me with a Link to the current page the question was asked. I will consider adding it If I believe it to be helpful and of importance.


2. A Smash Lab as been created. It is currently undergoing development and in the process of finding "researchers." Researchers will be people that have a Cyan name. They research really advanced things like frame data and questions that elude even smash pros.

If you think you have something that needs researching this is a great place to go. If you have questions pertaining to Link that nobody knows, it is probably because nobody has done any research has been done on it. In this case, I will ask a researcher to find out the information for you and post the answer to your question right here for all to see.

However, you are more than welcome to go there by yourself and ask those very obscure questions that need researching. Here are the links.

Rules for posting. There are over a dozen. read them all.

1. Post here if you have a question. Be as specific as possible.

2. If you are unsure if something has been found post here before creating a new thread.

3. If you need help with anything from beating a certain character to performing an AT, post here and you will be directed.

4. No flaming will be tolerated. Many useless questions may be asked but they are more than welcome here than in an entirely new thread.

5. Link players will respond in a timely matter with great answers that will address the specific question asked. If the question or discovery has been previously answered in an important and up to date thread, we reserve the right to redirect you to that thread where the answer is located.

6. Questions will be answered with some substance and detail to help the questionnaire understand why that answer is the correct answer to his or her question.

7. More than one question is allowed at one time. The Link boards will do their best to cover all questions asked as according to the rules.

8. Debates between responders are acceptable and arguing is not. Know the difference.

9. If to people have the same question at the same time or at different times. we will do our best to address each individual person and their situation.

10. Do not post the same question over and over if you are the same person. Learn from the answers we give you and improve. If you have a different question, you are more than welcome to come back and ask.

11. Trust our knowledge. If you ask a question you will get a great and correct answer from good Link players, We know Link better than you do so trust that our answer is correct.

12. It is recommended you quote the person you are responding to.

13. Only respond if you know the answer.

14. Link players have lives. We are sorry if we cannot answer your question right away. We will get to it as soon as possible. Even if we have to research.

How do I jab cancel.

There are two ways to jab cancel. The first way is to let the jab animation end and put in another another command. The second way is to have another animation override the jab animation. The most popular example of this is crouching. Crouching is an animation that will cancel the string of jabs allowing you to restart your jabs or do something else.

How do I perform Bomb slides? How do I make them go in the different directions: up, down, and forward?


Answer

If you perform a perfect bomb slide then Hitting up Z will make you throw the bomb up. Hitting diagonally forward up and Z makes you throw the bomb forwards. Hitting Diagonally up and back will make you throw the bomb backwards. If you perform a fake out bomb slide, the bomb will always go forwards. Keep in mind The timings are different from a true bomb slide and a fake out.

That thread discusses numerous ways as well as the best way to DAC with your wiichuck. Bomb slides are the same thing as DAC except with a bomb. If you can do 1 with practice you can do the other. They are virtually the same thing.

OK, here's an actual question.

Is it commonly known that you can instantly toss a bomb after dropping it in the air?

For ex: Pressing Z then throwing the bomb a split second later.

This also helps for throwing two bombs at once, assuming you've tossed one in the air, pulled out another and chucked out the first one. And no, this isn't done by tapping solely the A button ether.

Recently I got a PM. Saying that if I wanted I could have this taken down.

I hate the mods and what they have done. However, I do not want to carry out their action and continue inflicting damage to SWF members. The AIB movement group probably won't come back until the mods have had some time to cool down and make these boards usable again. I myself am part of the movement.

At the same time, I will NOT ask these boards to be taken down. I do not want to continue hurting people like the mods *cough* *buzz* did. Maybe they are only doing their job but they hurt the community, something I don't want to do.

I won't post any more but I will continue to update the FAQ if you PM me with something you think should be in there.

You guys are on your own. I'm moving to a forum more about fun than rules. Until SWF does the same, the Link community won't come back. Have a nice day.

Umm you're welcome I guess? I'm not sure if it was me but I'm really sorry SP, I tried to persuade a mod into REOPENING your previous Q&A thread...maybe he heard me out? idk...but i guess making a new one was the only real alternative so I'm really sorry if that puts too much stress on your part.

I wanted the previous thread to be reopened so newcomers would be able to browse through the already well discussed thread for any problems. I mean not all of them would know about the whole SWF movement unless we tell them...

Short hop and fast fall and when you are about to touch the ground press Up-C , link takes out the sword , it shines ( the sword ) and when it touchs the ground it haves no lag.

That's the start-up lag to your up aerial. If you land an aerial before it actual goes into the "damage" mode, it will autocancel.

In essence, you're making a pretty sword without actually doing anything.

It's kind of hard to compare a top European player to a top American player, mainly because most American players have no idea who the best European players are. I'd still place Legan above Izaw because he can compete with the best ROB (one of Link's worst match-ups) in the US.
I don't know of any notable players Izaw has beaten.
Arkive has (barely) beaten Legan in dittos, and he has good, consistent tournament placings to back that up, so he's definitely number two.
Deva beat DSF. Nuff' said.

Legan's gone toe-to-toe with OS's ROB and MK, so i'll take him over Arkive.....not by much but by a little.

I don't feel like arguing who is better, because it's pointless. We'll see at Genesis. However, in the Link boards tier list on AllisBrawl, Arkive is ranked above Legan, and no one has complained. I was only stating the opinion of the boards.

Well, idk about you, but I'm glad they didn't leave him cel shaded, it would just look so.... weird.
I prefer him as a young link with Mario style graphics. At least they left in some cel shaded stuff, like his bombs and bomb explosions.
And I didn't have a question, but I just had to make that comment. It made me appreciate ArkiveZero a lot less, doesn't matter how good he is with Link.

I prefer Twilight Link as a character by far, but I pick the side of the better character in the game, which by far is Toon Link.
Not to mention, Toon Link wins in this match-up more times than not, albeit he doesn't dominate it.
Toon Link and Marth makes for a much better rivalry than Link and Tink.

First Link mainers should make a group and not make it public. Somebody can make it, invite people that are smart that have an interest in Link's game, and then start planning group action from there. Right now there is not much and its more of people's individual efforts, and thus too haphazard and inefficient. (Essentially new LBR and if there already is one, just what have you guys been doing?)

Dair is a great KO move, can bounce off of projectiles, and why the hell can't you read our guides. or my Handbook which would have told you a little about dair...

It does more damage when fastfalled.

Great finisher for a bombstool.

Yes indeed you have a bias, that makes you lose credibility.
I main both Marth and Toon Link, but Tink is my primary character.
But even with my bias, I'm man enough to say the match-up is even. You put a really good Marth against a really good Toon Link, and it will always go either way.
