G&W, Roy, YL, DK and Bowser (not at all) have terrible shields, so don't use them (well use them appropriately). just side step and triangle jump.

do a light shield with a partial L press with the those guys. game and match can do retreating bairs if you need time to replenish your shield. plus it just looks hilarious.
