I don't think his comments can be that easily interpretted. Think of it like Metroid Prime - After Metroid Prime 2, Nintendo did all it could with the gamecube, and moved the series to the wii. Without greater detail, no assumptions can be made about what his comment means other than No More Heroes will not be on the current generation of Nintendo home console.

Part of why I say this is that from a marketting standpoint, no developer would imply that prior to the release of a new game. For exactly the reason you stated - it would kill the sequel's sales. A developer would, however, conjecture about the next generation of hardware.

This is supported by the approximate two year NMH schedule coinciding with the typical release schedule for new hardware - NMH 1 was out in 2008, NMH 2 will be out in 2010, and NMH 3 will most likely be out in 2012, and the typical Nintendo console lifecycle is 5 years, putting the next Nintendo system out in 2011.

I must say that I'm thrilled with the prospect of what NMH2 will have in store.

50 bosses!? Now, that's what I'm talking about! :bigthumbu Not only that, but some of them attacking in groups? It's like a dream come true! They're going to be creative too, if Nathan Copeland is any indication.

Oh, and now there will be wannabes that will try to get Travis' rank. This'll be interesting...

One of the best parts is that paying for the entry fees will be less daunting. Which is a good thing, since that got tedious for me after a while (even though the mini-games were generally fun ).

Finally, here's the kicker: In an article written for the latest Nintendo Power issue, he stated that he's got enough ideas to go to NMH 5!

Well, the fact that it was censored over there didn't help.

On the other hand, the "NMH enemies bleeding black pixels and turning into dust" gimmick could allow some mooks to appear in the next Smash without too much controversy.

Don't forget about the wrestling moves being used as throws, or the Dark Side mode being involved in his FS.

Also, he should have a hidden taunt where Silvia calls to inform him about the opponents, tease him, remind him to go do his...needs, state her estimates of him dying and telling him to "Trust his force" and all that.

As a whole, I loved that trailer! I can now more clearly see that this game will look more polished than its predecessor (which isn't saying too much, since that one's style made up for its limitations).

You gotta love how the voice-over dub sounds a lot more bad*** (yet somewhat uncharacteristic) than Suda's actual voice.

Also, cheerleaders FTW.

that certain scenes in the sequel hint at her now having feelings for him, and that one of the screenshots we posted today shows her riding a motorcycle with Travis' [spoiler alert] sworn enemy Sylvia in the sidecar, I get the feeling we'll be hearing a lot more about that relationship.

On a side note, according to the interview that I posted earlier (ON THE PREVIOUS PAGE), NMH2 will mark the end of Travis Touchdown's storyline. The NMH series will continue on Nintendo's next console and will focus on a new storyline.
