On the other hand, anything going against the "Pass is just third party, everyone go home" mindset would be nice.

Besides, I'm neutral on Shadow anyway, I'd much rather see Tails get in first (well, either him or Eggman). Seniority and all that.

The only thing suggesting "the pass will be all third parties" is the Joker reveal where people think "oh, this DLC character is third party, so therefore all of them will be" and that pitiful 5chan leak with Ryu, Steve, and Doomguy. I don't think all of them will be third party at all

I think that the 5chan is indeed fake and I don't think that the DLC will be all 3rd party.

I think the leak is fake, it has no real evidence going for it. I bet the only reason why people take it extremely seriously is because of GameXplain and other news folks covering it and considering it to have credibility.

I like the leak because it has Steve, so I considered it at first, but since I don't care about the other characers I wouldn't really mind if it was real or fake, though I would like Banjo-Kazooie, Ninten, etc. to come alongside Steve or a Creeper.

Yeah. People are taking Reggie too literally. His comments do not mean that the Fighter Pass will be entirely comprised of unrepresented 3rd parties. Ninten getting confirmed will hopefully snap them out of that mindset .

Except for one thing: there has never been a climactic final character announcement for anything in Smash. I fully expect the big guns to be revealed first, and the last character or two to be silly picks. It's just not Sakurai's style to do such big things for last for shock value, I feel.

Anyone thinking otherwise is plain not studying history (and regardless of Bayonetta's status, she was still anti-climactic to anyone who was expecting a different third-party).

Yes,I also thought about this.
Smash never seems to have its priorities sorted. Shadow and Isaac are highly requested characters and they decided to deconfirm them in the last direct before launch,just to throw salt into the wound.
