reading through the Porky thread makes me so sad that these people only care about overrepping Mother 3 instead of treating the series fairly by adding a Mother 1 rep by making dumb excuses against any possible M1 characters being added...

Unfortunately, they seem to bring up the Year of the Pig (despite the fact that Nintendo never coincided an announcement with the Chinese Zodiac, like ever) and his status as a recurring villain to justify his possible inclusion.

It's definitely become my favorite Mother remix throughout Smash history. That's no small feat considering its competition with "Bein' Friend", "Unfounded Revenge", "Pollyanna", "Theme of Porky", and more.

This is pretty well thought out doc. I did find it weird that the datamine shows the potential newcomer
to be the same size as Ness and Lucas, being a zoner and more slippery. Ninten was honestly the first character
that came to my mind when I read about it, maybe you could be on point about this!

I think that Ninten will get in over Porky. Villains tend to be low priority. Ganondorf and Dark Samus were lucky to get in as clones, Wolf was outright cut from a previous entry, Bowser Jr. barely made it into Smash 4, and Ridley and King K. Rool would not have been playable if not for their massive popularity.

Of course, there's still the matter of whether Sakurai feels it's justified to add a new Mother character for the sake of its incoming anniversary in July. It's the only barrier in the way.

Same way they reacted when Lucas was revealed for Brawl.

Tbh I don't really care how they react though.

They would be really confused, however, 'cause a lot of people think the next one is Erdrick

It's kinda weird that we only have 2/3 protagonist from the series. I mean I get Fire Emblem since
because that series has SO many characters, but Mother is just three games. You could easily
throw in Ninten! (Heck while we'll at it, why not throw Porky fans a bone too)

Exactly.

Imagine a dream Mother roster where you have all the protags - Ninten, Ness, and Lucas - all the antags - Gieugue and Porky - and Claus, who is kinda in the middle.

This could all be totally possible if Mother 1 is repped by a certain angry protag in wave 1 DLC for Smash Ultimate

To be fair, lots of people were also confused on Joker’s reveal since many thought Persona was too “niche” so there’s going to be head scratching regardless of who gets revealed.

I’m pretty bloody confident in Ninty getting in this time. Honestly sorta felt that way since the game was announced Heh...

Listening to this remix makes me feel even more confident and excited about Ninten getting in!

Speaking of Ninten getting in, what would you guys would like to see as a cool stage? I think Mt Itoi would be cool and the best idea since... well... it is named after the man of the series, after all. Also it would be cool if we got a view of other locations from Mother 1 in the distance.
(maybe even have Porky appear in the background or as a stage hazard to please those people who demand to see Porky in, just like how Magicant has some elements from Mother 2 in it.)
