Shovel Knight is a pretty popular request. Him making it into the game would be proof that they're listening, if anything.

If he's not popular in my echo chamber then he wasn't popular.

Call me outlandish, but you could possibly justify a 5 minute trailer if something akin to Ryu happened, where Sakurai explained stuff about the character.

Now, if that were the case, then it would be misinformation, but it's really the only way I can justify it, since 5 minutes is rather ludicrous for one trailer.

The only reason I see 5 mins. is because, (and not gonna lie, I kind of hope I'm right on this one) could we really be getting Shovel Knight, and a few more indies as playable Smash characters?

Captain Falcon, Robin & Lucina's trailer was shorter than Palutena's, and that had 3 Characters.
I reeeeeeeeally don't think a 5 minute Smash Trailer is possible.

Even the debut trailer for Smash was shorter than 3 minutes.

The only reason I could EVER see 5 mins. is because, (and not gonna lie, I kind of hope I'm right on this one) could we really be getting Shovel Knight, and a few more indies as playable Smash characters? Seriously, there is no way that 5 mins. will be all for ONE character. And even then, that 's suggesting that this whole thing is real.

1:50 for the trailer, rest of it is soccerguy talking. There was a lot of Ryu talk in the mini direct.
